You can't cite a biblical prophecy as evidence when so many others did not come true i.e. that Jesus would return within his disciples lifetime - all, or at least many, would have to be true to rule out coincidence. The assertion that the gospels were written before 70AD has no evidential support; the accepted date is after 100 AD. There may be many possible explanations for the lack of a reference, not least the loss of the relevant text - the bible is a small fraction of early Christian texts.
The bible was put together several hundred years after Jesus was dead. During which time the persons who put it together omitted many books from said bible because they were deemed offensive or too risky to put into a new religion. The book of Mary for example was omitted. Perhaps that is where this was recorded. I don't think this is very likely as the book is a fairy tale. However this leads me to the conclusion that the compilers of the book, humans not god, may have lied or falsified things.

a) a near future prophecy (70 AD), & b) a prophecy of OUR present future, corroborated in Daniel & Revelations. It is yet to come, referring to the destruction of the Vatican & powers of Mammon.

Do you truly believe that a single prophesy from Jesus Christ is evidence of his divinity? The Mayans "predicted" countless events, including many natural disasters, in their calendars, and claimed to be informed by the Gods. Why should I accept Jesus Christ over the Mayans? Substantial claims require substantial evidence.
The bible is not and never will be proof of your god or any other gods. You have to stop and ask yourself which god is real, if any, and why this one is correct and none of the others. Then present your proof, and do not quote scripture as evidence. I'm sorry but you can't use the scriptures to verify what was said in the scriptures. The argument that "because the scriptures talk about the destruction in future tense means it hasn't happened at the time of writing" does not hold water. You have to verify the age and time of writing of the scripture outside of what ever evidence is in the scripture for it to be acceptable evidence.
What you represented isn't proof but simply one piece of evidence. One thing coming true doesn't hold as much weight as you might think. As the saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice a day. You'll need to find and present more information to support your stance while at the same time adequately disarming opposing claims that proclaim falsehoods in the Bible.

people always assume that the 4 Evaggelia (as they are know in Greek) were written while jesus was alive or shortly after. In fact they were written by people who didn't meet him, nor lived during his time. They were also edited and amended, not to mention translated and copied, which then meant manual re-writing. They all talk about the same stories, but have contradictions and differences between them. It's just like the book of Mormon, somebody wrote them, but no God was involved.

When looked into we know that scribes over the centuries have added to and changed the verses of the bible to suit political needs of the times (Bart Ehrmann - Misquoting Jesus). The bible was changed to include prophecies after they occurred to look like they were prophesised beforehand. Noone who ever met jesus wrote anything he said down. The earliest gospel (Mark) was originally written at least 20 yrs after the alleged death of Jesus.
Why is it that the entire old testament is looked upon as metaphorical now that scientific knowledge has rendered everything untrue i.e. we know that the entire world was never flooded; we know that languages did not come from the punishment of the building of a tower; we know that a man can not live in the belly of a fish for 3 days without dying; we know that the garden of eden story was a childish myth passed on by ignorant sheep herders
Why did no person during the time of Jesus ever write any of his incredible deeds down? Why did no contemporary historian see any of his alleged feats worthy of even a few passing words?
Jesus supposedly lived within the realm of the greatest army in the greatest empire the world had seen up to then. Why would the roman army not be the slightest bit interested in someone within their realm that could heal wounded, raise dead generals, feed multitudes with little or no food and cross natural boundaries to conquest like rivers by walking over them? Why would they hand this individual over to the jews to crucify him? Could they not think of a use for someone like that in an army?
That is not proof that is an assumption. There are more than once argument that can be made to offer different reasons why the destruction would not have been put in the bible.

Oh no, god did have to do with Jerusalem's destruction, but not in the literal sense. It was a city that was located between two very hostile forces with conflicting religions so of course war broke out. In this case, the city was just trashed by men. Not god or whatnot, MEN.

This just has one massive flaw. What if, for argument's sake, someone did get their hands on the bible, and wanted Jesus to appear to have divine powers of precognition, and retroactively inserted the prophecy to make it appear that Jesus prophesied it? This has to be a possibility, because it is not an impossibility. The more important question is, how is this so unlikely to be ridiculous, given how much we know the bible has been edited in such a retroactive fashion?
Another point that you could argue would be how Jesus prophesied that he would rise from the dead in exactly three days. The Jews and other non-believers had every incentive to guard his tomb from Christian grave robbers who would attempt to fake his resurrection. This narrows down to two possible scenarios:
A. Jesus is God, overcame death and walked out of his tomb
B. Christians militants overpowered Roman/Jewish guards and recovered his body

Actually, the origins of the Gospel of Mark (the oldest of the four gospels) date back to around AD 70. The other gospels are from an even later date than this. So this doesn't prove anything. At best, the writer of Mark made his prediction a handful of years prior to the destruction of Jerusalem, but at that time anyone with half a brain could have seen the writing on the wall, as Jerusalem was a seething cauldron of discontent with Roman rule, and the Romans weren't known to be lenient.
I can only see that Atheists are unhappy people by their comments. They accuse Christians and God, or admit to not believeing in Him, but just as they reason so, The offer no resoning for God not existing, even though, the Universe is proof. in your choices I chose B :), just with less wit and all that, more like the gospel writers saw an opportunity to explain the destruction of the temple(which was catastrophic to the jewish faith), and then just didn't mention it later because the bible is not a historical text, its not like they wen't on the third day of july 101 we reminisced about that temple we used to have. They don't mention it again because there's no reason to.
The fact that someone didn't write something as a past event, does not prove it happend after the fact, they may simply have wanted people to believe that the destruction was forseen so wrote it as a prediction after the fact knowing it had already happend. This is a logical reasoning of why someone didn't write it as a past event, it does not prove the existence of God or the future telling ability of Jesus.

The argument that "because the scriptures talk about the destruction in future tense means it hasn't happened at the time of writing" does not hold water. You have to verify the age and time of writing of the scripture outside of what ever evidence is in the scripture for it to be acceptable evidence.

In fact they were written by people who didn't meet him, nor lived during his time. They were also edited and amended, not to mention translated and copied, which then meant manual re-writing. They all talk about the same stories, but have contradictions and differences between them. It's just like the book of Mormon, somebody wrote them, but no God was involved.

When looked into we know that scribes over the centuries have added to and changed the verses of the bible to suit political needs of the times (Bart Ehrmann - Misquoting Jesus). The bible was changed to include prophecies after they occurred to look like they were prophesised beforehand. Noone who ever met jesus wrote anything he said down. The earliest gospel (Mark) was originally written at least 20 yrs after the alleged death of Jesus.

What if, for argument's sake, someone did get their hands on the bible, and wanted Jesus to appear to have divine powers of precognition, and retroactively inserted the prophecy to make it appear that Jesus prophesied it? Another point that you could argue would be how Jesus prophesied that he would rise from the dead in exactly three days. The Jews and other non-believers had every incentive to guard his tomb from Christian grave robbers who would attempt to fake his resurrection. This narrows down to two possible scenarios:

Actually, the origins of the Gospel of Mark (the oldest of the four gospels) date back to around AD 70. The other gospels are from an even later date than this. So this doesn't prove anything. At best, the writer of Mark made his prediction a handful of years prior to the destruction of Jerusalem, but at that time anyone with half a brain could have seen the writing on the wall, as Jerusalem was a seething cauldron of discontent with Roman rule, and the Romans weren't known to be lenient.

The fact that someone didn't write something as a past event, does not prove it happend after the fact, they may simply have wanted people to believe that the destruction was forseen so wrote it as a prediction after the fact knowing it had already happend. This is a logical reasoning of why someone didn't write it as a past event, it does not prove the existence of God or the future telling ability of Jesus.
