My intent was just to say that whipping is not the core issue.There was a time period when it was more mainstream. It was thought of as natural. In that situation you might find a moderately good parent who still whipped. I admit I haven't thought about it much. I just think that the real problem comes more from the lack of certain goods than the presence of certain evils.

My daughter also is doing great, she's 14, has 2 jobs, keeps her room clean & had all A's & one B in her honor classes. She was NEVER hit once. If I can raise a child into a great person without hitting, it proves hitting is not necessary. I discipline her: teach her right from wrong, instill empathy, praise good behaviors, praise hard work & good grades, model good behavior myself, follow through with what I say etc. It's a lot of work, but worth it 100%. She's also unspoiled.

Something to think about: 99% of people in JAIL WERE corporally punished. School shooters were from schools & famillies that corporally punished. Then at some point you think of a matter of correctness, well what if you tell them that if they break something again they will be whipped. My intent was just to say that whipping is not the core issue.There was a time period when it was more mainstream. It was thought of as natural. In that situation you might find a moderately good parent who still whipped. I admit I haven't thought about it much. I just think that the real problem comes more from the lack of certain goods than the presence of certain evils.

My daughter also is doing great, she's 14, has 2 jobs, keeps her room clean & had all A's & one B in her honor classes. She was NEVER hit once. If I can raise a child into a great person without hitting, it proves hitting is not necessary. I discipline her: teach her right from wrong, instill empathy, praise good behaviors, praise hard work & good grades, model good behavior myself, follow through with what I say etc. It's a lot of work, but worth it 100%. She's also unspoiled.

Something to think about: 99% of people in JAIL WERE corporally punished. School shooters were from schools & famillies that corporally punished. In fact, one teen was hit in school the DAY BEFORE going on a shooting spree. Violence breed violence. It IS something to worry about. There are a lot of problem in the world, VERY true, but this is a start of a violent life and many more problems. Plenty of research has been done on this. Lots of studies have proven that MOST kids turn out worse. Those are the facts. You can look them up. Please don't call use dumb asses; we have the facts.

They excel in school because the parents r involved, model good behavior & take time to teach instead of just losing temper & hitting. Hitting teaches nothing. All the schools with the school shootings r the ones incorporating corporal punishment. 99% of people in jail were corporally punished.
