I love how the minute you let go and actually have fun, the two plucking fingers do the exact thing you said not to do. You actually need to have control over the last joint of your fingers while slapping. You never want them to actually bend like you showed in the bigenning.

Scott Lafaro did something similar to this when he was alive, playing like a classical guitarist but on the double bass. this is a great technique. I think eventually after practice stanley clark's back stroking technique would be of more value, but only because you have more control over the tone attack of the strike. Thanks for the post this is a perfect expansion on the video vic himself posted.
