" this little old lady stopped at the lights , so i sneaked up close till our bumpers were close , i let all 5 of those big air horns roar , bless her heart blew her through the top of the car " HAHA ! classic old tune suck a legend of a tune takes me back to when i was a little lad trckin round the country in a auld seddon atkinson still truck round country in a ERF in the UK .. no tapes now tho (((
This was the 1st LP of Don's I had....got it as a b-day present back in the 80's after our local library decided to get rid of all of their records.....I think I have all but 2 albums of his now
Don Bowman!! Tijuana Drum and Bugle Corps is my favorite. Late 60s-early 70s I was DJ'ing at a small station in NH, I played a lot of Don's stuff. My boss didn't seem to appreciate his humor - one day came in and said "are you married to that guy?" Well, no, I just think he's funny! And I still do.
I loved him from the first album on... Hard to pick a favorite song or album, they're all so good! Certainly a unique sense of humor for sure. He has a lot of fans...
Thanks so much! It will be in the mail tomorrow morning! Don was an unique individual, that's for sure. He was "Comedian of the Year" in the first ever Country Music Awards in 1967. A very funny guy!
I love it! Don was vastly under-appreciated. Glad that I found your posts.

I have been listening to Don since i was a kid. I wish I could find the song "Baby it's cold outside" that he did with Sketter Davis.
