Interesting that you should mention this song and Ruby Braff at the same time, since I have that combo, and Scott Hamilton, on a CD 'Ruby Braff and his New England Songbirds' which is the first time I ever heard Scott.
The first notes of the intro by George Wein are allmost the same as he uses in the recording I mentioned in my remark. But I mad a mistake, tehe recording was not in 1964 in the museum of modern arts in NY, but in Paris, the Olympia Theatre on March 15th 1961.
This is a winner Bob. From the first strains of Scott's glorious tenor,followed by the lyrical sound of Warren's cornet, I was impressed by this version of the old standard. Nice one!!
Beautiful playing on one of my all-time favorite slow tunes. Wish I could play cornet like that (I'm gonna learn this solo, though).
