I'm not sure if they are still using this but try tuning standard a half step down. Since it's was standard tuning back in greg's former band Failure.
@jam09ism You should've seen her when she was 20 and in the snare line of the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps (I was in the horn line that year)...cute girl (who could drum the lugs off a snare), 80s, and Dolphin shorts....all I'm sayin'!
just saw these guys in omaha and they absolutely ripped the place apart...easily one of the best shows I had been to in recent months.... all three of them in unison...I really can say karla is one of the sweetest drummers to watch live... she and the guys have so much intensity its phenomenal....
Aright I love autolux but how the hell do you play those chords? someone HELP ME. what are the chords they play for the chorus?? I think the first chord he rides on is 79x10xx, but I cant figure out what the next chord is (he plays it for a split second before the high-pitched noise). then he goes back to the 79x10 chord, and then hits an E powerchord. but goddamn if I cant figure out that one chord.
Autolux does almost all their songs in E-flat tuning. During the chorus the guitarist plays an E the first measure (with a B-flat in the bass) then in the second a D-flat ane F (with an E-flat in the bass) and then the high pitched noise is bending between a high F and G-flat.
I saw that show when they came to St. Louis and they blew me away. They went nuts and were making some insane noises for about 2 min straight in the middle of one of their songs.
Proper usage of a Gibson guitar.
Yeah, and badass also :]

My friend knows how to play it. I forget right now but he moves to a dim. 5th which is probably what is tripping you up.

They really rock but you must check Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine, for example, because their sound is not "unique".
