  • Jesus had eyes of fire and hair of wool( the classic saying) hair the texture of wool does not come from a pale faced person..........

  • how come women always have to choose? just because he loves her she's supposed todrop everything..if he was the other way around would he drop his dreams?

  • Lemme see...Job versus Steve... I'll take Steve! :D

  • I need a Steve Too

  • Am i the only one who wants to go back in time and slap sarah jane??

  • Um who cares wat color jesus is! No one knows so STFU

  • was steve crazy??? that woman had been working for that opportunity for a long time. how could he ask her to walk away from it. excuse me, not ask, tell her...lol! hadn't they just met?...surely, he didn't think he was putting it down like that??? i guess she was putting it down like that and steve's whipped behind got beside himself...lol

  • GURRRL u got urself a good man and u dont even kno!

STEVE LOOKIN OUT FOR U..... WHERE'S da Steve in my life?! LOL

  • Laura is way too ambitious about her acting career!!

  • "What color was Jesus?"

    "He was like me...white"

Grr...this scene annoys me so much. Why wouldn't Annie just describe Jesus as he is described in the Bible...as a dark skinned man with thick hair! It certainly would have saved a lot of the hassles!

  • @pokupokupoku You missed the point. Ask 100 people what color was Jesus? Nomatter what the truth is, the majority of people assume he was white. It's how he is usually painted and sculpted. Probably the majority of black people might think he was white. With that in mind, to Sarah Jane's thinking, if Jesus could "pass" then she could, too. And if Jesus did it, well, then there was nothing morally wrong with it.

  • @defundthewar I understand that. But it really depends on who you ask. Sure, many people are taught that Jesus was white (I remember my own religious education classes has pictures of a very pale, white Jesus with light brown hair), but that is usually through miseducation at schools or misleading images of Jesus in books/churches/etc.

Annie had no reason to say Jesus was white because, presumably, she has read the Bible herself. So she should know that Jesus is never described as white.

  • "what color was Jesus--truth": JESUS WAS, COCOA--A MIX OF WHITE and BLACK WITH A REDDISH YELLOW HUE--SIMPLE yet------GORGEOUS

  • @evelutionofone Jesus was born in the Middle East. He could have been light, very dark or a mixture of anything in between. :)

  • @friendsfamilyaccount

    that was my point! ;)

you got it too guess you knew :)

  • This movie sucks ya in with several narrative threads slowly interwining themselves into the main plotline---ambition, devotion, pride, self-respect, and love.

    That's called---Entertainment.

  • steve is gorgeous.

  • @trustinChrist08 He is gorgeous but man he was so boring. He was like a dry piece of toast. I know he loved Lora but the way the actor delivered his lines didn't ring true for me. It really came across as acting...I mean it felt like watching a movie vs. being sucked in. I wish I could explain it better.

  • they need more sarah jane..i do not care about the fabulous and talented lana turner

  • Steve is S E X Y! ;) ♥

  • theese two little girls remind me of the two from whatever happened to baby jane

  • ..their lovers quarrel was fuuuuny!

  • i might as well confused David, shes really not my client... lol I love how he backed out of that comment after he sees that David wants to run after her. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD!!

  • People were so much more attractive back then imo.

  • This Is One Of My Favorite Movies<3

  • Wow. A marriage proposal and a breakup in just 5 minutes all because of a man's ego. What kind of idiot thinks they can control someone just because they love them?

  • @lemonde49 Apparently you didn't watch the rest of that film. He was naively trying to protect her and had something real to give her. Yes, he was wrong in not supporting her to some degree...but she was far more wrong to sacrifice her child's needs and neglect the idea of real love...not just a feeling of comfort with a man. This movie was about the idealism of feminism and racial acceptance, when society wasn't that way and perhaps could never fully be. Ideals are selfish.

  • @Ricks550 I don't agree with some feminist ideas but at that period of time men needed to realize that women have big dreams too. Being only a mother and a wife does not suit every woman. I understand that he was trying to protect her but he could have done that without being an ass. overprotectiveness only repels some women.

  • @lemonde49 Nothing wrong with ambition and the desire to eliminate artificial barriers created by men, but there definitely is a problem when you sacrifice people for ideals. Just as there's nothing wrong for a woman to work for a living, there's nothing wrong if a woman takes care of her children....quite honestly a sense of moderation in us all would be good. We create families and we have an obligation to love and take care of them, beyond our selfish needs. That or don't have them.

  • SUSIE IS SO CUTE N SWEET

  • these people fall in love to quickly

  • She's acting at 10:00.

  • Jack Weston 3:20 played Max Kellerman in Dirty Dancing.

  • What the hell? She just met the guy and he already calling shots before they get married.

  • @trevez789 You must be young. Anne

  • "I always fall in love with my leading ladies".... Not a good omen?

  • She seemed blinded by youthful dreams and ambitions.

  • Loomis was a sleazbag!

  • Mr Edwards looks exactly like Robert Webb! (from Mitchell & Webb)

  • Annie calls him Mr. Steve while the little girl calls him Steve ??????????

  • Ahea dof its time, a woman who puts her own desires before having a man.

  • damn Lara a pimp! she got three guys hooked on her.

  • I see this film when only 7 years. Thanks for posting this video DragonFlyNoir !!

  • She was tenacious in her own life of getting what she wanted just like Bette Davis and the others, they had to be and I admire it so.They had to fight the studios to get good roles, they paved the way for Meryl,Susan Sarandon and the like to be taken serious.

  • I have to say this looks pretty recent for a movie from 1959.

  • @harriettewinslow U MEAN 1859 THE DIALOGUE REMINDS ME OF GONE WITH THE WIND RIDICULOUSLY RACIST AND STUPID FOR ANY YEAR.

  • this is a very deep movie,

  • @IAMSHAK LIKE A SHALLOW POOL.

  • @9xxxxxxxxx Why the hell didnt they just describe Jesus THE WAY HE IS DESCRIBED N THE BIBLE?! Skin of bronze & hair of wool! Damn dumb asses!..That sure doesnt sound like any white person 2 me & why the hell do they just continue 2 have her going on believing that "white is right" bullshit?! They should tell her the actual REASONS 2 WHY she should B PROUD 2 B a black person But what do they know, black people back then were taught about themselves from white people & we all know what that led 2

  • @9xxxxxxxxx And I thought this movie was suppose to be about a little brainwashed aka white washed mixed girl anyway ...this backwards shit is about a poor woman that wants to be an actress ....WTH is this, I've been duped!

  • @SuniDays87 Wait until you see the whole film. I'm assuming you already did.

  • I feel the same way as you "TheRiah23". I absolutely love the wholesomeness of older movies such as this one. I always feel good and cozy watching them.

  • @Jade301 same here!

  • @Jade301 ikr it's like stuff you wanna watch wth your bf beyond the fireplace or something

  • this movie is aawsome nd clear its a tough movie nd they should make more movies like this these days instead of all these movies that have to do with sex nd killing people !!!!!! You should be able to copare it with something postitive nd not negaitive!!!!!! .........................FOR ALL THESE PRODUCERS MAKE SOME GOOD ND POSTITVE MOVIES !!!!!! (STARTING NOW)

  • @TheRiah23 I wish that modern film-makers knew that they could get a point across without obscene language, extreme violence, and ridiculous and overt sexual scenes. I guess it takes wit and intelligence to do that...two things we simply haven't got today...too bad!

  • @lorrainewands

very true, filmmakers tend to cater to the lowest standards today

  • @gatheringleaves That is an understatement!

  • @lorrainewands yes it give kids the wrong image

  • @TheRiah23 It would be nice but they seem to want to pour filth out to us.

  • @TheRiah23 -I agree with U on the now-a-days-making movies with some real issues other than Sex & killing. Yet this movie was misleading about the issues of race-where whites were made out as having nothing 2 do with the ills of race mixing, by blaming everything on Sara Jane! Not on the society N which she resided N. white society.
