I met Mr. Clower at Katy's apartment when we were in college at Mississippi State. He was a real gentleman. We did not talk much. He was eager to get to the t.v. to watch a football game. But, you just knew he meant it when he shook your hand and said, "It's nice to meet you young man." It was easy to tell by his words and by his actions that he was a Christian and a truly good man. RIP Mr. Clower.
Owen Cooper was a great man. He built a multi-million dollar business from nothing, he gave freely of his money to see that the hungry were fed, he stood solid in the face of southern racism and loved and accepted all people, and he did his best (and failed) to try to keep the Southern Baptist Convention from turning into a right-wing political organization.
Have always loved this saying and i still have the cassette tape with tis on it.........no one tell's it better...........RIP Jerry Clower.............luv ya always !!!!!
Cant wait to get to Heaven and shake hands with Jerry Clower......gonna tell him some stories and hear him tell all his stories and laugh til I hurt..........
Jerry you are my favorite comedian of all time. I know that Jesus called you home so that heaven could have laughter. I laugh everytime I hear your stories. You are one in a million and when I get to heaven I will see you and look forward to worshipping the lord together.
Here was an exceptionally decent human being. He lifted people up--lifted our spirits with his humor, and lifted our character and aspirations with his truth-telling about what is really important.
Hey, Jerry, I hope that one day I get to sit beside you as we both praise GOD for all that He has done. I hope you will have a few more stories to tell all of us. You were a great American and a Great southerner. God bless you and your family. From one good old boy to another. We loved you Mr. Clower.
thanks for letting jerry still survive here for millions i'm 28 and remember listening to jerry with my grandfather and i hope he will still be here for my kids to here years from now we dont have good clean comedy like this anymore and i'm sure jerry lived most of the stories he told.... thank you jerry rip may you make god laugh as you have all of us.....Ghost
