  • sweet ride

  • i've had a 500r like 10 years, beat it to sh*t

    way too comfortable on it...

looking @ A Triumph Daytona Triple also

but that might be too fast for my enthusiasm

  • For a man, nothing is too fast

  • @Bogie3Flare beautifully put my man..

  • Is that a seat cowl or is his passenger seat green

  • Just painted same as my silver '06. They did not paint the blue bike so it's got a banana seat :(

  • I have the save exact bike. Even the same color. I've been riding it for about a month now and I love it.

  • i love that color!

  • which bikes actually have fuel gages

  • this bike was re-disegn for 2009?? i mean go to kawasaki and youll see a diferent 650, please answer, ho nice bike :)

  • Yes the big was redesigned. Imo it's ugly.

  • haha I ment bike. How the hell did I get big from bike?

  • K, I really want this bike but im 6'4", is this bike going to be to small on me?

  • Shouldn't be. It's no smaller than the 600's.

  • No, I'm 6"1', and i feel perfectly fine on it.

  • yeah you should get a 1000 i'm 6'1 and it feels good

  • Im 6'3" and i had a ninja 500 and was completely comfortable...so im sure you will be fine

  • the size of the engine doesn't directly relate to the size of the bike so don't listen to anyone that says otherwise (ie get a 1000 below). the 650R would be better for you than most crotch rockets because the supersports have way more cramped leg positions. your longer arms would also make those bikes awkward. i'm 6'1" and my 650R fits great. more comfortable than any other 600 i've been on.

  • @atiacer this bike is made for shorter people.

  • Bert's Mega Mall!! woot!

You must be local - I was at Bert's the other day...gawd they're expensive!

  • Yup. Temple city.

Hell yea berts is expensive. I got ripped off! But I was excited and didn't know any better.

  • Yeah that's okay, at least you got what you wanted - and you'll remember it for life! Can't put a cost on that lol

btw, it'd be nice if you had more vids w/ur bike imho. How has the 650 been for a starter bike anyhow?

  • Great starter bike. It's funny I was on a friends cbr and was doing 40 in first! I dont understand why people get 600's as first bikes.

Yea I have some videos on my camera but they won't transfer to my comp. Im going to try and shoot some more vid soon. Hopefully the camera works. I want to get a gopro camera.

  • @rocketoffblast is 40 in first fast? my cbr goes 65 in first and my katana does 55 in first

  • @tusculumboy33 40 is fast if he is talking about mph

  • do you think this would be good for a person that is 5'3?

  • I'm not sure if you will be able to flat foot it. You would have to go try one out, sit on it and see how you like it.

  • just get it lowered.. no problemo

  • lowering the bike is a dumb idea unless you switch around alot of things it throws the apex and handeling off alot

  • actually lowering the front a bit improves handling.

  • squid comments ,

those people likely can't max out whatever they ride,

if it even is a supersport

It's really NOT the bike that's fast

it's the rider. Handling is Everything,

and a light bike like this, narrow,

is so nible it'll beat the shit outta liter bikes in any combination of turns,

    effortlessly

that isn't to say the liter bike can't beat this one w/ a lot of effort

  • Yup. I know of people who out beat the liter bikes at the track but once they get to the straights the liter bikes are gone. It's kinda catr and mouse, back and fourth. In the canyons though I bet the 650 would beat them, or be neck to neck on the fact it's all twisty

  • It seems like there are a couple of guys giving you grief over some nonsense... I like the bike and I am getting the same one tomorrow on a trade in of my '05 250. Time to step up into some power. People can say what they want, but choosing a bike is personal preference and if they don't like the bike then they should go watch other videos of bikes they like better.

  • wow bro you're getting alot of shit in the comments :( sorry to see that... i personally liked the vid, seeing as how it's about equal to all other motorcycle vids lol it's not like this is supposed to be a double feature movie or anything xD gotta love the youtube community eh?

Nice bike though... im looking at getting a black one here in a few weeks and can't wait :D

  • The funny thing is this vid is like 6 months old. I had uploaded it when there had been NO videos of the 08. I could make other videos of me riding it etc etc but to be honest, Im lazy. I have footage of me in the twisties but the file is corrupted and it will only play on the camerea :( Thanks for the positive feedback. The 650 is a great bike

  • is this a good beginner bike?? im think either ninja 650, versys 650(if availible) , or yamaha fz6

  • It's a wonderful beginners bike, just take it slow. If you can and your not worried about the sporty look, get the versys. Some of the components are a little better and it's a dual sport!! If I could get one I would.

  • Hmmm date added?...April. Current date, September. Dumb ass! Gotta love them ignorant assholes. Fail! And I have seen dealer plates at the track. They had just purchased the bike and were performing a hard break in. So double fail! I win.

  • First off dumb shit, stop trying to be all hard. Second don't say you can type when you clearly can't. And no, it just doesn't sit there. It has seen 2 track days and I hit the twisties almost daily. That's more then you can say. You probably just ride up and down the street racing fucking kangaroos and wallaby's you prick.

  • Not as much laughter as when people see your FACE! Burn...

  • i think the front end dosent look that nice...

but better than alot of bikes.

but the back end is sooo nice so it looks realy good especialy in green there true colour.

  • lol. Thats funny, because a lot of people dont like the back, including me. But it's a nice bike for what it is. And yes green is the best color...and the fastest ;)

  • If and when i get one, thats all anybodys gonna see,the back

  • dont know between this bike are the gsx650f

  • ninjas are pretty good starter or overall bikes i'd say. and gsx are for more of an enthuiest.

  • yea i know but the sv 650sf is a great starter also. i have experience driving dirt bikes and racing fourwheelers just neva own a street bike.

  • dude this bike is awesome....is this a good bike for starters?

  • yes. as long as you take it slow.

  • OMG you bought this at Bert's? I live a couple of cities away. COngrats on the purchase.

  • GET A ZX6R

  • Nah. I don't like the ergos on it. My next bike is going to be a r6 or cbr. I'm just a beginner that is why i got this bike. Not because I thought I would kill myself on a liter bike (I know i could have handled one as a first bike)But because I wanted to get proficient at riding properly. I'm confident that when I upgrade in a year or 2 I'll be passing up my uncle(riding for 20 years)in the twisties.

  • You should put some lower bars on that. Itl look a lot nicer and ride more like a sportbike

  • how much are the sport bars? and are they a bitch to install?

  • I believe like 150 or something. And no they are not to hard to install.

  • I am once i get some money.

  • How many costs this motobike? I really want this! I think it's 6500$

  • yes. 6500

  • nice bike.. can anyone explain the difference between this 650 and the zx-6r.. is the zx-6r faster than this bike?? and also.. is this bike beginner friendly??

  • The zx-6r is an in-line four sport bike. It's higher revving and much faster. The 650 is a parallel twin. More Torque down low but not much up top. You should be fine getting this bike as a beginner. Just take it slow.

  • berts? i go there too =D hahaha.

i got my suzuki gs500f there!

im pretty new to riding =/

  • Yea. I hope you didn't take your bike there for the 600 mile service. From what I have heard they have poor customer service. I feel safer taking my bike to the shop by my house. It's smaller so it's not like they're working on 20 bikes. Where are you located? Have you ever been to crest or azusa?

  • haha shoot and im nearing the 600 mile mark too D:

damn. i hear they have shitty service but as long as its free :/ wheres the place you go to? i live in the walnut area near mt. sac

  • It's free? Im pretty sure you have to pay. they should have given you a 10% off card when you bought the bike. I go to, or should say I went to Temple city powersports. It's up the block from my house. Labor was expensive! >:-( It was my first service so i was like eh whatever. But next time Im going to look around.

  • yeah thats what they said, its like part of the warrant or some stuff like that.

haha i think i stopped by powersports when i was looking for my bike! we should ride sometime! although ive only been riding with a permit for like a month

  • For sure man. When you get some miles under your belt we should hit azusa.

  • yea yea just hit me up whenever. myspace, facebook, or aim.

  • i bought my 08 650R today, picking it up in the morning :) they had to assemble it. i will stay tuned. feel free to check out my riding vids, and there will be new ones soon

  • nice, love the new colors for 08

  • i just got one in black with the red anodized rims...its sick

  • Nice bike, I'm 18 next month and when i have the money I'm totally going to pick one of those up.

How long have you been riding prior to buying the ninja?

  • nice! I jus got one myself not too long ago

  • Got a black 08 with my name on it!

Not a fan of the green though, too vibrant in my opinion. The black and red accent though is the one for me.

Congrats on your Ninja, and good luck to paintballer18 in getting a bike! Give it time.

  • you have no idea how much i hate/envy every person on the earth who owns a ninja, im 14 any my parents hate motorcycles any i would litteraly kill for one of these, you luck bitch :)

  • Great bike, man. It looks really clean. Nice, I'm getting my ninja from Bert's too.

  • How do you like it? I think its great?!

  • I love it! Im getting a scorpion exhaust soon. I think im going to go record some video of my ghetto tirefly's (wheel lights) right now! :)

  • BEAUTIFULL

  • cambia el manillar xaval

  • My friend just got this bike, we all have sports bikes and he bought this thing.....It rides like a dirt bike and sounds like one too. If you want a sport bike feel this is defiantly not the bike to get. On the upside it had an upright ride which is way more comfortable. As for power though it only has 2 cylinders and it red lines at 10 grand which is weak compared to a sports bike.

  • yo how many miles per gallon can you get with this thing

  • 50-60

  • Dude...I ride a 250R with less than half the power of this bike, and it does fine. Sure...you can't outrun a cop or go over 120 on the highway, but only a douchebag squid would want to. The 650r is way more of a bike than mine, and I can only fathom the practicality of the 650r on the streets.

  • I wanted a 250 but they were all sold out and i would be riding the freeways so it would be a little underpowered. The 650r is really practical on the streets. I love it.

  • im about 6'2" and about 190 pounds... is this bike too small for me???

  • Nope not at all. I'm 5'11" 190 so I'm around your height and it fits me perfect. The only thing I do suggest is get new bars and a new windscreen. I just dont like being all exposed like how the stock set up has you. Thats my next purchase. I'll be posting more vids soon once i figure out a good setup for my cam.

  • Yeah i got one too... mine is blue.. i just bought a new handle bar....specially made for 650r it has the aggressive look.... and my new windshield is on the way... its sporty looking.. so my 650r will look more sporty :) after i install

  • Sorry. Wrong account. I'm not volcomgirl lol

  • ok sweet

  • Im 6'2" and heavy set. I ride a 250R just fine. The 650R should do you good. I hope the suspension in the 650R is a bit more stiff. The 250's forks dive in a stop.

  • Well, it's been 3 weeks. Give us a status update/review. How is it going for a first bike so far? How many miles logged in?

  • ha! i dropped my baby! (dont forget to put your kickstand down kids ;) ) so she only has 120 miles on her. cause I have had nooooooo time to take her to the dealer. the chain/sprocket is making a funny noise i need to get it looked at. Other than that its a great bike. i love the low end power. I can only go up to around 4-6k cause of Break in. But i can feel the power within lol. Once i get her fixed I'll post a riding/review vid. but who knows how long that will be :/

  • I just got mine. EXACT same color and everything. I payed $6100 from the dealer, then after tax and stuff it totaled $6704.56. I Financed mine as well. Payments are $65 a month.

  • im planning on getting one in the next month or so.. did you finance it? I barely have any credit.. how much do you think I'd pay a month?

  • yes. i put 1500 down and my payments are 220

    let me break it down.

    base price- 5,999

    dealer prep/freight- 1,310 (assholes :])

    document fees- 55

    sales tax-607

    dmv-102

= 7971 then i got some othe bullshit that i might cancel. so yea

  • wait 220 a month??? why so much.. i thought it would like be below 100. i was gonna put down only 600.. im soo confused about the entire process of buying a bike. But someone told me it would be lik 80 something a month

  • well once i cancel the extended warranty and bump insurance its going to drop the payments down to like 170 maybe. I actually have no idea why its so high. maybe my credit? not sure

  • yup depends on how many months u want to finance. 3 years or like 5 years. mines only like 68 bucks a month. but i do double and sometimes triple payments. That way if im short on cash one month i dont have to feel obligated to pay 200 bucks a month see what i mean..

  • I wanted this for my first bike but went with a Honda spirit 750 instead.Just want to see if the cruising thing is for me I guess, but this is definatley in the future plans!Nice bike!

  • Its...SO...BEAUTIFUL! *sheds tear

    I want one!

Dude, enjoy it and have fun man!!! Cheers!

  • i want a 650r so bad... i'm a noob so i think i'm starting out on the 250r but the 650r is a great bike, i want it to be my second bike.

  • This is my first bike. I think its a great starter bike with the high bars and upright seating. you feel more in control. I dont think you would have any problems starting with a 650.

  • yea you're probably right, but i'm 19 and my insurance would rape me

  • It's all in the wrist. I got 10k miles on the 650R without problems, and it's my first bike too. But the low-end torque can get you in trouble if you're not payin attention
