The object is to reduce the costs of health care. As it is, we here in the US pay TWICE as much as those in other industrialized countries AND our health care is inferior.
Our systems of healthcare-for-profit are failing us badly. Didn't you notice? Is it OK for 800,000 to go bankrupt each year do to medical bills? How about the needless deaths due to lack of care? The list goes on.

People are applauding due to his charismatic nature and delivery; he is saying a lot of nothing about the legislation, and asserts that it cannot be reformed.
