I would say you weren't careful enough. You not only bungled the chess question, the Ten Commandments question was not pinned, and your "camera" question was absurdly fanciful, with the word "camera/s" said four times instead of asking "Which company makes the Coolpix camera?" The awkwardly worded Robin Williams question was the best of the four, and barely.
I'm a chess player; your chess question was not correctly worded. Nothing in particular happens if the player cannot make a legal king move. However, if the player is *in check* and cannot make a legal move with *any* piece (remember it is possible to get out of check by capturing the checking piece or interposing), then it is checkmate. However, if the player is *not in check* but has no legal moves with *any* piece, then it is a stalemate.
@rjaguar3 That's what I had meant to say in the question: "If a King cannot move or if a piece on his side cannot move in to protect him from his surrender." But had I said the answer in the question, it would've been tossed out, so I was trying to be careful, but I guess the wording was a little incorrect.
@mtiller2006 First, if you meant to say it a certain way, why didn't you write the question in such a manner? You're the writer, after all. (I don't recall having seen this question on any previous PYL episode Ive seen).
Second, if you feel that you can't write a good question about checkmate, then maybe you should choose a different answer, like "chess." "In what activity would you hear terms like stalemate, checkmate, and draw?" would be a much better written question.

I like how you did interviews during the beginning of the game.

"In the game of chess, if the king is under attack and cannot escape immediately on its turn, it is said to be... what?" (checkmate)
OR
"In the game of chess, if the king is not in check but has no legal moves without putting it into check, this is known as _____" (stalemate)

Thanks for pointing this out, though.

Be glad that Matthew didn't give the equally acceptable answer of "Deuteronomy" to the second question.
