But my phone notified me that i had emails, so, since the day is young and while you are on YouTube, watch a man on here named Jesse Ventura. Watch his 9/11 and Pentagon episodes. This man was a governor and seen things that disturbed him. "Amerika" as you say, isn't all that glamorous. Elderly even claim this "recession" is worse than The Great Depression.

  • Queen Mary had a wonderful wave. It was too cooky to be done by anyone but a Queen-Empress, descenant of George III, picked by Queen Victoria to marry first one heir and then, when he died, another.

  • I agree with some of the comments on here. King George VI is by far the best recent king Britain has had. With all his health problems and WW2 he continued to stand strong and become an influential king.

  • I can only assume the narrator was referring to Queen Mary,mother of King G VI when he says 'Queen Mother'.he couldn't have meant our present queen's mother as she became Queen Consort upon the king's coronation!

  • George VI was the best English monarch in recent history, in my opinion. He led his nation through WW2, with all the treachery of his brother's intrigues and the hardships of that war. It took a toll on his health, which was fragile to begin with.

    But he was the man his elder brother was not, and he had a backbone. His reign saw the establishment of the Commonwealth and the end of Britain's colonial period, and he lent grace and dignity to that historical process.

    It is your privilege to hold whatever opinion you may wish about any historical figure, but most historians would disagree with your assessment of these two brothers. I have no respect for Edward at all, and he would have been eliminated by the secret service for his betrayal of his people if the issue had come to a head. He was a perfect donkey. George had tolerance and wanted to restore some dignity to the monarchy. Fall of the empire was inevitable, not his personal fault.

With World War II and the death of 55 million people just a few years into the future, they were standing at the edge of a pit and did not know it. The Second World War exhausted Britain economically and militarily, and it has never recovered, and the British monarch is no longer the Emperor of India.

  • @dinyar65 actually that is false, Maharaja Ranjit singh wanted it to be donated to a temple, as part of his will, then after punjab was named a british colony Maharaja Duleep singh, then a child, surrendered it to the queen as a symbol of being conquered. then he was never allowed to return back to india.

  • Who is the reporter in this video? Anyone know? Many thanks, and great job. I thought it was a lovely look back at a different place and time. For those of us born during WW2 we had to grow up fast, the bombed out cities, the devastation of loss. We grew up with our parents pain and suffering, our childhood sacrificed to their guilt and grief. Nostalgia is a wonderful emotion, a panacea to the soul. I don't know that the world was better then. It just seems that way from afar.
