  • damn the power...what a bummer....

your tones great...is it a preset..?

if not could you tell me the settings used..???

  • @subinrulz It's not a preset on my amp. But It's too long ago. I don't remember the settings, sorry...I think generally it was something like this on the gain channel:

    drive: 6, treb: 5, mid:4.5, bass: 6, timbre: deep.

  • i thought this was a video of joe satriani crying.

  • bro yankee :D

  • I like the ending (albeit unintentional) power outage, it was cool. Good job on the cover, keep it up! Satch rocks!

  • ficou muito bom.. igualzinho .. parabéns

  • lol, at least the power cut as you hit that long E note and not in the middle of a verse......awesome cover otherwise

  • damn..... how old were you?? u look like a 16 year old.... damnn good.... i love it... f!!!! i love it man! great job!!! i would have fallen in love with u if i was in the audience! i swear it. i love this song!

  • and you keep sounding off like an idiot, and you'll have even less people like you on youtube!

Admittedly I AM pretty shit with the guitar, but I'm using youtube to improve, unlike you, who is using it to start 'cyber fights'!

Again- if you ARE such a shit hot guitarist, why do you have no videos to showcase your talents? also, 9 channel views and NO FRIENDS or SUBSCRIBERS and I'M the 'Sackpeice'(sic)?

Whoa, you're proving popular not only with me, but the rest of the online world!!

  • er, i just told u that your comment was unfair, which it was really! obviously we cant all be great eh! i really do think that if you were though, you wouldnt trawl around here dishing out put downs

  • Comment removed

  • bring what on? put your own cover of cryin' up & it'll be done & dusted! what's your problem? i think you're a bit of an idiot to be honest - these pages are supposed to be for actual comments not all this shite! give us all the low-down on what you think is wrong with this (or mine) and if u are as gr8 as u say u are, we all might learn something from u! otherwise i suggest fucking off might be your best option, cos i'm getting tired of all your posts!

  • ...#2 funnily enough, he hasn't replied since! So maybe he HAS gone away now, but, if you wouldn't mind, could you delete your response to me just incase..? anyway, your video is awesome! DID YOU GET 1ST PLACE? even with the power loss? u should! thanks mate. andee

  • cool- thanks for that! (my comment was actually intended for 'oboedoboe' who's slating you for having 'the stage presense of a cucumber' - in your defence, i've ended up in one of those typical youtube keyboard 'fights'! he says he can piss Satch tunes out all day long, but by the way he talks, i seriously doubt that! so, i asked him to show us all how it should be done.. and as a final comment, I asked him the question about where he would play from.. funnily enough....

  • Obviously, if you do post an amazing cover & can prove it IS actually yours, then I'll be impressed...

Quick question... do you prefer to start the first phrase from the 7th fret of the Bstring or 11th on the G? and why?

  • DUDE! that was awesome & was getting better & better until some jealous 2nd place type character pulled the plug on you! I bet you still won right?

check my version out... I'm a newbie who's setting himself high goals!

  • good job!

  • nice job

  • OMG! That was soooooo incredible!!! I can't believe you played this in HS at a talent show...everyone must have been blown away...and the electricity went out at the perfect time...at the end of that beautiful phrasing...it must have been somethin' to talk at school! You are a great player, and this is my favorite song by Satriani!! WOW!!!!! You have great talent!!! Ciao, Donna

  • stage presence of a cucumber

  • OBOEDOBOE -so i bet you can play this piece while jumping through hoops can't you!

The talent on show here ain't about shit 'manufactured' music & choreography! Its the art of making a lump of wood cry like Satch himself! He did a bloody amazing job in my view- i ought to know - i'm learning this piece myself right now & looking at my video, I probably have the presence of a small gherkin compared to this guy!

you wouldn't happen to be the jealous guy who pulled the plug are you??!!

  • you quite clearly are a twat, yes i can play lots of satch stuff but unlike you i dont need people to tell me how good or shit i am dickweed

  • oboedoboe - is it really me that's the tw@t here? I think maybe you got issues. You got that comment from me in response to your criticism of this guy! Now if you're a talented musician who plays this kinda thing well, why would you be hanging around youtube being rude to everyone? FYI - I haven't told you how good or shit you are dickweed! Find some other mug to have a behind the keyboard fight with.

  • also, if you're such a fine guitarist - why not invest in a camera & show us?!!

Come on, I for one would like to see how it's really done!

  • i watched your version of cryin and it made me cry fucking laughing you tosspot

  • Well if you'd bothered to read, you'd have known that it was recorded 1st take & after just 3hrs of getting to know how to play it ...now if you're all done trying to offend me with your vast collection of insults, why not do as I said before & put your money where your mouth is & try posting evidence of your genius at playing Satch covers?

As I said before, I seriously doubt you can play this piece & are just another one of the of youtube idiots who give negative comments to everyone.

  • nice job!

  • your the man yo.... clear bending vibrato and nice tones

  • i can see that your playin with full of emotion...nice work man

  • LMAO!!! nooo power off!!!

    Dude, THAT was incredibly SLICK.

Unfotunately I lost my girlfriend recently, and your interpretation touched me deeply, I won´t cry anymore for her, but seeing you playing this song with so much feeling gets me emotional and makes it a heavy job fot me. Great, great, great, tone and vibrato. Keep that rock in your blood.

    Facundo from Argentina.

  • nice, keep rockin' bro!

  • where did you get the jam track for the song!!!??? i want it!

  • Oh my god. Awesome tone. Simply perfect.

  • Dude you melted the power! Awesome job. Just out of curiosity did the girls want to be groupies after that show?

  • great job dude! 5 stars

  • due seriously!! ur fakin brilliant!

  • wow gotta give it to u!!! 5 star from me!

  • nice.. well done

but it seems a bit that you play without your soul.. learn how to put your heart in the things you play

  • stfu

  • agreed. He's good, but it looks like he was concentrating on doing an improvisation.

  • off a little bit, still not too bad tho

  • you're playing so smooth dud ...

    very cool ... awesome

( I 've played this song too, but not that smooth ...)

    keep on rockin dud...

what gear do you had right there?

  • Wow, you owned that song!! sounds like if Satriani was playing...Amazing work, keep it up!

  • Hey Karl! I'm a student at galt and i remember you playing this! You have some serious skills!

  • hey but i want to see the song entire....!!

    ._.

  • NIIIIIIIICE, are you a guitar (music) student? or by-ear musician? PERFECT FEELIN' im tryin' to play that cover... i hope you can watch when i upload it... From Tijuana MEXICO, Jonathan Medina...

  • i was there , my school :P

  • omg.. you have a lot of feeling man.. you really capture the vibe of the song.. favorited!

  • compliments! :)

  • Man it was nice! Cool! By the way your amp is my new amp n is great! Keep it up, our guitar playing styles look alike

  • dont you love when sounds look alike??

  • Haha good one :P

  • Do it again, kpaqmedia! For the sake of your sensibility!

I believe it will be worth it! Much potential with your EXCELLENT PHRASING (timimg)-- You do not rush but have tremendous dynamics placed into the execution! Concentrate and do the entire song, Yes? At 1:52 you start to get down!!! At 2:20 you are turning it into a killer version!! Rub that neck furiously!!! Keep all the notes in.

  • Wow great work dude, there were a couple of little mistakes here and there, but they sounded like you only did them because you were nervous and stuff. You showed your skills throughout the rest - until the lights went out and power was gone :( That's a pity, I wouldve liked to hear the rest!

  • lmao when he was playing the power went out :P great work karl

  • great playin man. take a look at mine if you get chance :-)

  • i need more emotion/feeling. you looked too dull upthere. but it takes guts to stand alone in front of at least 700+people at one time.

  • Great work - it's great for you to get out in front of a crowd on your own and nail that song - there are so many guys and gals in the world who are fantastic "bedroom" guitarists (Youtube is testament to that!) but who have never performed in there life - keep up the great work and well done from Ireland - Mr T

  • i think you are so anjellic when you play, you love what your doing, and ive noticed ,is that a jackson slh soloist somewhere i see.

keep it up,only take on board the constructive comments,,sorry im only just learning this computer thing, how to use,.

im a real fan of satriani, and i promise you,he has seen this clip,

and i think your very very tallented,

im just a mum, but a mum whos watching listening to a 17 year old try so hard,to get up to your standard,,,wow has he got a long way to go

  • Awesome work dude!

Such a shame that the power went out :(

  • Nice work.. send it to joe ;)

  • how do you use the dd3?, what for?, i'm planing to buy one, but is quite expensive, do you think is a good purchase?

  • The dd-3 is a great pedal, amazing quality. In fact Joe himself uses 2 of them instead of rackmount delays. I borrowed this dd-3 and used it for a long time and it's great, really simple. I am planning to buy a delay soon too, but I'm looking at a digitech digidelay. It's a lot cheaper, has more options, and when I tried it, there was no noticable sound degredation. Look into it.

  • i tried both, the dd3 and the digitech too and I bought the dd3... I am really happy, but you're right now i regret not buying the digitech.. its as powerful as the dd6 and yet cheaper plus sounds a lot like boss's

  • Great job, that's sucks the power went out.

  • great! really liked!

  • Nice jam man,Youve convinced me to learn this piece!5 stars!

  • lol, at that time it was funny when the power whent off, but u were really great for the talent show

  • Nice Feeling and tone. Parabéns!

  • some mistakes, some improvising, but sound is cool and of course great song

  • hey whats ur setting on the DD-3 delay?

  • Pretty clean dude, freakin song always made me all warm and fuzzy *sniff*

  • where this sound come from? What is your gear dude?

  • For this gig it was; Ibanez EX - Fender Princeton 650 - (in effects loop) Proel volume pedal - Boss DD-3. Just what I needed. I had some reverb on the amp too. Usually, my setup is; Crybaby GCB-95 - Digitech DF-7 - Fender Amp - (effects loop) Volume pedal - Danelectro phaser - and DD-3.
