  • That took a lot of guts kid. Have you ever thought of going into plastics? *coughs the graduate.

  • Man Kim Fields had some big "Tooties" when she grew up

  • Smoking can cause you to go short of breathe or tire out quickly. Smoking can cause heart attacks and even cancer.

A healthy lung is squishy, puffy and pink. Smoking will eventually make lungs black, hard and full of holes, it would be a literally feel like a piece of charcoal. That's no lie because I once watched a documentary about smoking and how a smoker had to have a lung transplant.

I once tried smoking, it made me dizzy and even made me vomit! After that, I never tried again.

  • Remember fellas...girls who smoke...poke. And that's one to grow on.

  • Her blouse collar is secure

  • Where's the left audio channel?

  • Kim Fields look far older than the OTGO with the kids playing a pratical joke in the playground, she got to be at least 16 here and this gotta be 85 or 86.

  • I wonder if the stars that did the one to grow on's were obligated under contract to do them cause they were part of NBC or if they were asked and just wanted to. guess it doesnt matter they got paid either way!

  • Found this on Wikipedia

One to Grow On is an educational public service announcement (PSA) that broadcast during NBC's Saturday morning line-up from 1983 to 1989 when the network ran cartoons. One to Grow On focuses on ethical dilemmas and attempts to teach viewers how to solve them. The PSA appeared immediately after the end credits of an NBC cartoon, such as ABC did with Schoolhouse Rock! and CBS with In the News.

  • Actually, smoking is extremely cool. Too bad it can kill you and whatnot.

  • just cuz the girl doesn't like smoking doesn't mean she needs to be a bitch about it...definite mixed signals there.

  • she always gave great advice for us Hush Puppy wearing children of that decade, lol

  • It really becomes clear when Tootie tells it. Goodbye Camel Lights!

Only If they had one for the evils of Rumpleminze... lead me to the light, Tootie! :(

  • "Now Chucky, don't ever do that!" LOL

  • Kim Fields LOL....she really blossomed her style being a nerdy school girl on Facts of Life to sassy saditti ass on Living Single.

  • I actually remember this particular spot, along w/the Michael J. Fox "don't play w/matches" one posted elsewhere on YT...a real flashback! :-)

  • "You'll get used to it"? Judging by how the other 2 girls were coughing @ the very beginning, I don't think they even reached that threshold yet...LOL

  • Um, maybe they should've gotten rid of the macho-dude/hot babe cigarette ads that targeted young people.

The finally did in the mid-90's, but by that time Joe Camel had gotten kids hooked.

  • Kim Fields was on "The Facts of Life", BTW.

  • That never happens ever.

  • What's funny is that she's expected to deliver this long rant quickly before the song runs out. It's like a race!

    Thanks for sharing this!!!

  • What I'd like to see is some of those old "Dear Alex & Annie" PSAs. Does anyone have those?
