  • if he could lived to 1949,i bet he would support chairman mao

  • dr. sun yat sen is the father of china. too bad he died so young :o( i remember seeing this picture hanged in the main wall of costa rica's chinese association. however, since the commies started diplomatic ties with costa rica, his picture was taken down.

  • but the most sad thing is, then China was took over by Communist part, the rest ideal of democracy of Sun's could only accomplish in Taiwan which is nowaday Republic of China at. Poor.

  • No revolution of 1911, no Communist party, no Communist party, no new China.

No Sun Yat Sen, no Mao Zedong, no Mao Zedong, no new China.

  • @ComradeMing

Sun actually want one thing when asking communists to help, he want China to have multiple party so democracy can take place. CCP on the left and KMT on the right, one stand for workers and other stand for businesses. The problem is other leaders like Chiang and Mao never want to share or save their nation but rather simply want to create a paradise just for themselves.

  • @Balencian and because no capitalist system is ever meant to be fair, this division showed that neither are willing to cede power. not only so, chinese culture demonstrated that multiparty doesn't work in its history of politics, which is why we see what we see today. of course what tomorrow brings is another question, but it definitely will be far.

  • 3 words: great, chinese, ever

  • Too bad his followers have split up into two camps that hate each others guts.

  • Sun Yat-Sen is Masonic VIP 25D

  • thats ma boooooiiii :D

  • He was just a drifter.

  • it is extremely sad that like Lenin, Dr. Sun's vision for a new China which is a true democracy for all Chinese descendants, were ruined by Chiang, and then Mao.

  • 偉大的孫中山先生安息吧!

    禍國央民的共產黨必定會滅忘!中國人會重獲真正的尊嚴!

  • @HKExperimentalman don't worry, democratic china, before we die, guaranteed!

  • @ravan318 承你貴言!!!

  • @HKExperimentalman and let's put it this way. if china is democratic today, china will be a big6 place with a corrupted democratic government and people that has low moral standards, and fighting each other (like the '20s or india today). but if china is democratic in the future, chinese ppl will be educated, proper, mannered, strong, developed, rich, cultured, have good morals, and can truly understand and grasp the system of chinese democracy. it's a better result, so it's all worth the wait.

  • He could have stay in America and enjoy a peaceful rich life. He was a medical doctor. Think about the sacrafice to help China. Greatest Chinese ever.

  • @noformstyle you serious? Asians were treated like shit back then. There were no equal rights and if Sun stayed there he will be far worse

  • Dr. Sun Yat Sen, a nationalist from China

Dr. Jose Rizal, a freedom fighter from philippines.

  • Its alll about genghis khan

  • Dr.Sun a great man, a modern Chinese hero! The father of the Chinese nation!

    Mao & Chiang put together don't make a Dr.Sun!

  • It showed Hong Kong HAHA, but he didnt really do anything to improve Hong Kong

  • @168chanism

I disagreed, he might not done anything directly, but his ideals inspired the people of the city. When I was small, I heard a lot of stories about Sun Yat Sen and his ideals that is very inspirational. Same stories was told to my father and grandfather's generation and they are the one that built HK.

You do not need to make a direct impact but your actions can inspire. Look at people like Sakamoto Ryoma, Benjamin Franklin, Aristotle...etc

  • gangsta

  • China is Strong today, because of Sun Yat Sen... He is the Embodiment of Pan Asian Ideal which the foolish japanese government fail to realize.

  • @JBXyooj

And FUCK MAO AND CHIANG they ruined what SUN succeeded

  • @168chanism Now now... all Leaders of a Nation will eventually screw the founding ideals of their nation... I mean look at America. lol

  • @JBXyooj

Looks like you rally don't understand why China become so rich nowadays.

It's because the political party of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen was "kicked" away from China and the evil Mao and the Communism got power. Today, the modern China is just a rich country with crazy Communism. Although that was not much compared to the period of the Cultural Revolution, most of the people neither living in a good economical situation nor under protection from the governement.

  • @2a12919 Oh spare me your shenanigan. You can't call it a pure communism... its just another Modern dynasty, If I'm not mistaken China will always be Chinese.

disregarding the government ideals... it runs a psuedo Dynasty complex :P

and FO YOOOO INFOMAAAATIONNNNN MY FELLOW YELLOW MANG.

I DON'T GIVE A FUUUUCK... Sun Yat Sen took interest in the study of Marxism as well :P I mean... he even requested aid from the Soviets :P

  • beijing/peking/whatever was the site of the forbidden city, a great source of national pride. Any republican mass movement would've had a bastard of a time formalising a new capital, especially if they had dubbed themselves the national revolutionary party (KMT) or the people's liberation army (CCP).

  • Too bad, most Chinese just don't listen. When Chinese leaders got power they rather concentrate and use it for themselves instead of other people. Even till today...how sad...especially how Sun Yat-Sen have alrdy paved the road to Chinese democracy by 1920s.

  • @Balencian

but what did democracy brought to China?

warlord, foriegn invasion, civilwar, poverty, weak goverment, corruption, hyperinflation

  • @100000000years

Democracy was never achieved in China. Sun Yat Sen never lived long to see a united China nor a China that have warlords removed. Sun's successor Chiang Kai Shek is more or less a dictator which run a dictatorship under the pretext it is a democracy. The guy who defeated him, Mao Tse Tung, is another dictator, who run a dictatorship under the pretext it is for the people, but in reality a nutshell just for himself.

  • @Balencian

but you have to know 5000 years of our history in which the state was/ is the suprem and no other orginization had never share the power with the state

  • @Balencian man dies, but legacy lives on. he will get there, because we will

  • @ravan318

I give up already, I will be happy if i see a democratic Hong Kong. Forget the shell, save the spirit.

  • @Balencian don't worry. current chinese society is rather disappointing, but many others like sun, didn't lose hope. it's a mental breakdown to be reminded of what's happening right now, but in the near future, you will be convinced your hopes can be invested again=)

  • @100000000years

    Wrong grammar

it should be what did democracy bring to China.

That's not democracy, that's from Yuan's restoration of imperialism.

  • @100000000years

Democracy was never achieved in China.

Sun Yat Sen's successor, Chiang Kai Shek was a dictator, and never followed Sun's ideal principles.

  • Though he wished Nanjing to be the capital of China but the Chinese people for some reason just moved it to Beijing....

  • I'm a chinese kid and my task was to write a report about sun yet san and I had hard time finding information about him in English because I really just study in a international school. So thanks for helping : P!!!!

  • he was actually born in china and at the age of thirteen went to live with his brother who lived in honolulu and was prospering as a merchant. he later received a hawaiian certificate of birth that said he was 4 years younger than he truly was.

  • 中華民國 = TAIWAN
