i have built 1 working model see if it would work it used a speaker magnet the doe nut shaped one a layer of plastic on each side and 3plastic spacers on each side to hold a wire ring steel on the north side aluminum on the south side the positive side of the doide soldered to the steel wire the negitive to a copper wire and wrap it through the center about 50 raps solder the wire to the positive side of a .01 pf capasitor the negitive of the capasitor solder's to the aluminum

If you'll also notice, in the scene where Obadiah puts the arc reactor in the Iron Monger, he actually puts the mark I in there, not the mark 2 he stole from Tony's chest. Man I hate continuity goofs most of the time, but this one helped. ^_^

Thanks! I discovered a lovely goof in the movies that works to our advantage. Watch the end scene again when he's lying on the roof, his arc reactor flickering. it's not the mark I reactor in his chest, but the mark II! It's clear to see by the lack of the three prongs going into the center, and the lack of the cutout shapes in the ring on the mark I. Also, no mesh over the center circle, which means it's the mark 2.

Finally! Someone making the Mark II Arc Reactor! Where did you find a good reference picture for it or plans? I have the movie on blu Ray, and I have gotten a decent idea of how it looks, but for the life of me I just can't find a perfect ref pic for the Mark II arc reactor.

I'd greatly appreciate if you told me where you got your refs for it. Thanks!

I actually just paid attention to the monitors in the room in which the part of the movie where he's upgrading his ark reactor with the help of Pepper Potts, you can also see glimpses of it when he's talking with her, and at the scene where he's walking with the bag of ice on his head / when he opens pepper potts present. Hope this helps

Actually its mounted on a strap which ties around my chest and the controls run to my other prop. which is the repulsor arm, when the repulsor activates the Ark lights up brighter. Gives it a nice effect lol

found it at walmart in the car/auto section its a clear tube looking thing with lights at both ends kinda to light up your daskboard its about 15 bucks and it comes with two which i had to use to make the right size for the reactor. Goodluck!
