  • GONE But NOT FORGOTTEN I started playing at the age of 15 and was aways in awe of CHET and still am.

  • Also check out Lenny Breau's cover of this tune. He studied under Chet for a bit and does a fantastic arrangement of it

  • I may not be worthy of carrying Chet's guitar cases, but that's the beauty of music; you can enjoy it tremendously, no matter what level you are. Chet is one of the greats, and I will always find pleasure and beauty in his work.

  • My first guitar was a Harmony acoustic, like so many kids, I guess. $40 at Volkwein's Music in downtown Pittsburgh. Took a few lessons from an older kid in the neighborhood, also llike so many kids, I guess. Felt too stiff to make any kind of music with, and so it was resigned to the closet, again, also like so many kids, I guess. It wasn't until I bought a Gibson Les Paul Custom (that beautiful Tobacco Sunburst finish) and a Fender Champ amplifier that I began to have some fun, and still am.

  • He lived his life in his music. You can tell by watching him, He felt every note. Great.

It was deep inside him. Love it.

  • Incredible and underrated genius of guitar. There is not a genre of music that Chet could not or did not master. We miss you, Chet!! You left way too soon, man!

  • simply beautiful:)

  • I was contemplating on buying a guitar, to expensive now a days, after hearing Chet Atkins played here on you tube finally decided to get one Thanks daffydoug for all your works, you make me happy !

  • @wrmconstu I got my first guitar at about 12 years old after hearing Chet play on an old album my mom and dad had bought. Here it is years later, and I'm STILL picking the thing, trying to imitate Chet!

Welcome to the world of guitar pickers!

  • finally I found my music !

  • @wrmconstu That sounds wonderful! I was wondering if you could tell me a little more what you mean.

  • The two halfs of his brain must of had an extraordinary amount of connecting gangula...like Eienstien's...using all of it in one concentrated focus...along with a soul of deep passion.....

  • 1 word to describe this man. Hero.

  • Being 19 alot of older people wouldn't expect me (especially in this day in time) for me to believe that Chet is the absolute greatest player of all time. But I am so thankful to have been introduced to Chet Atkins at such a young age. My grandfather raised me on him and frankly I am so happy not to be part of the generation X mind set of good=fast and loud. The two greatest musical artists ever known The Beatles and Chet Atkins. There will never be any like them. Period.

  • i used to work with Chet's cousin many years ago on construction projects, he also played the guitar, he was no Chet but he was damn good...must be something in the gene pool

Chet dose look like George W. in this picture, god help us!

  • beautiful arrangement , done on one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

    thank you, chet

  • George W. Bush?

  • Daffydoug, I guess if I had read the comments a little further down, I would have seen where it came from. I am sorry for taking up your time. Please excuse me. Thanks again for your hard work that provides such amazing pleasure for all of us fans of Mr. Atkins. In today's world this gives peace to one's soul. Best regards.

  • Thank you Daffydoug for this. He is the all time greatest. What is the name of the album or whatever is this from if I may ask? I have got to get it. It is superb. All of his work is of course, but this is my fav. Beatles song, but Mr. Atkins and the harmony just is superb. Only answer if you have time. If not, I will try to do some research on my own. Thank you for your hard work in posting these for all of us. I appreciate it so very much.

  • @AZSun1994 You're on the right track! Chet has kept me inspired and kept me getting sore hands for decades!

  • @daffydoug : I went to your Channel and you stated that you are dismanteling the channel. I saw the reason. Are you also not going to post the videos, etc. as well any more? If so, we won't be able to converse with you about the "man", which is part of the joy regarding the music....What then? Will you still be posting at all? AZSun1994.

  • @AZSun1994 This is from an old lp called "Chet Atkins Picks On The Beatles". I'm gonna guess it came out in 1966.
