Who said Atheists believe in nothing? There is plenty of other things to believe in, like my peers and teachers. The brave researchers studying hard to understand and improve our state of the world. I believe in the world getting smaller, and information breaking boundaries. I believe in space-ship earth, and one day, a single people focused on helping all instead of fighting only for their tribe.

None of this is possible under the doctrine of religion.

Unfortunately, I must agree. I, myself, have said that most people that claim to be christians, in reality are not. People have allowed themselves to believe a lie unto damnation. They are comforted by the fact that they go to church and read the bible occasionally, but to what end? I am so sorry that people have been turned off from an Almighty God by poisonous pseudo-christians. We must "seek out our own salvation, with fear and trembling". Look up and find Him for yourself. He's real!!!

No, Christianity is second greatest cause of atheism because of its patent absurdity. The greatest single cause of atheism is actually reading the Bible which shows the actual nature of the horrible character you call God and for some incredible reason actually worship. There is truly no accounting for human taste.

@djc1301 in the same sense that all actions are never morally malevolent, they are also never objectively benevolent. So I have no need to describe how raping someone is morally virtuous. If it were my daughter, my emotions would get in the way of rational thinking. I would be angry, yes. Though, I wouldn't be angry at his morality, I would be angry at the man himself. the state of being angry does not change morality to being objective. It only feels like it.

Seems like you're struggling with the Christian crowd you hang out with. Might I suggest spending more time with atheists? You might be surprised at how much easier it is to follow Christ's message when you don't believe in superstitious magic. Take some responsibility for your actions rather than smugly assuming that your belief in the "right" religion has earned you salvation in the eyes of some supernatural cosmic dictator. Here here! I've said before (as a Christian) that all Christians are hypocrites. This is simply because we preach an impossible moral code that we ourselves don't live up to. 'Be perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect'. But in trying to live up to that, despite falling so far short, we still go further than people who don't try at all, and that to me is a large part of what it's all about.

I don't believe Christians are fake. Just because you go to church on Sunday, then later sin doesn't make you any less Christian. By being a Christian you are striving to follow Jesus closer and are making progress, plus you get the added bonus of eternal life. That alone is why people need to convert to Christianity.
