Jesus is myth. Love the myth and eventually it will become real to you. Mythology is better than reality because what is real will dissapoint you. Feeling good is better than anything. Believing in nothing will make you sad.
Who said Atheists believe in nothing? There is plenty of other things to believe in, like my peers and teachers. The brave researchers studying hard to understand and improve our state of the world. I believe in the world getting smaller, and information breaking boundaries. I believe in space-ship earth, and one day, a single people focused on helping all instead of fighting only for their tribe.
None of this is possible under the doctrine of religion.
if you use your head dude, you can be better than jesus himself!
*Jesus: a personality that never existed, created by the church, which was stolen from ancient stories, to control those who can't think for themselves and who get fucked up the ass and give thanks for it. jesus my ass.
Singing in church is akin to luring a girl? You need help man! Your religion, as religion is known to be, is shame based. All this was is YOU judging your fellow Christians as if your better than them or you've seen the light and can see how fake u all are. You're ALL delusional and you ARE the #1 cause for atheism...well, next to logic, reason and truth!
Unfortunately, I must agree. I, myself, have said that most people that claim to be christians, in reality are not. People have allowed themselves to believe a lie unto damnation. They are comforted by the fact that they go to church and read the bible occasionally, but to what end? I am so sorry that people have been turned off from an Almighty God by poisonous pseudo-christians. We must "seek out our own salvation, with fear and trembling". Look up and find Him for yourself. He's real!!!
alright, Im pretty much an atheist or an agnostic and I disagree with all these guy's christian views, but I gotta give him credit for being the least bit open minded and not sounding like a crazy person on LSD trying to convince us of a fairy tale, I guess someone could say hes legitimate.
No, Christianity is second greatest cause of atheism because of its patent absurdity. The greatest single cause of atheism is actually reading the Bible which shows the actual nature of the horrible character you call God and for some incredible reason actually worship. There is truly no accounting for human taste.
morality is subjective. Who says raping a girl and then wishing her a happy birthday is bad? It's social stigma. Assuming things are inherently "bad", means you have succumbed to the default morality of the bible. or most religions for that matter. This guy should read a book besides the bible once in a while.
@djc1301 in the same sense that all actions are never morally malevolent, they are also never objectively benevolent. So I have no need to describe how raping someone is morally virtuous. If it were my daughter, my emotions would get in the way of rational thinking. I would be angry, yes. Though, I wouldn't be angry at his morality, I would be angry at the man himself. the state of being angry does not change morality to being objective. It only feels like it.
Seems like you're struggling with the Christian crowd you hang out with. Might I suggest spending more time with atheists? You might be surprised at how much easier it is to follow Christ's message when you don't believe in superstitious magic. Take some responsibility for your actions rather than smugly assuming that your belief in the "right" religion has earned you salvation in the eyes of some supernatural cosmic dictator. There is no such thing as magic. Grow up and deal with it.
Here here! I've said before (as a Christian) that all Christians are hypocrites. This is simply because we preach an impossible moral code that we ourselves don't live up to. 'Be perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect'. But in trying to live up to that, despite falling so far short, we still go further than people who don't try at all, and that to me is a large part of what it's all about.
One thing that always confused me though was why do we feel a need for meaning, if we have no meaning? What makes us want purpose, when in the end there is none? Usually when you want something it exists.
Its true that God is all loving.. but he is also the Judge..and he will Judge everyone according to what they did. Jesus is kind of like our lawyer. :) if you know him. just something to think about. This is of course if God exists..if not..do whatever you want..cause it doesn't mater-if There is no judge. IF anyone truly.. want to know if GOD exist.. really all you can do is Go find out. The Bible says.."Seek and you will find". Make one step to him..and he will take a big leap to you.
u live ur life how u want buddy, i believe in God but i haven't gone to church in years, i'm not gonna completely waste my life living by all Christian rules, if God exists i dont believe that he'll hate anyone, afterall he is all loving, so u don't have to live that perfect, dull life, get out there and have fun, heck smoke some pot every once in a while
Well I don't know which of the numerous christian doctrines you are promoting, but I completely agree about the hypocritical nonsense the so-called christians seem to preach.
You have a very good point, if a person truly believes that their lives, and indeed everything around them is controlled by a being such as the christian god or the muslim god or whatever, how dare they even utter a single curse, how dare they even get angry? It just doesn't make sense.
A God Controling everything contradicts Free Will. Sorry to burst your bubble, but almost ALL theists don't believe that God controls everything. Also, my Faith doesn't look badly upon swearing or getting angry. Why do you assume you know what theist morals are?
well I'm mainly picking on doctrines which believe that they are to behave prudish in the presence of their almighty creator. And they don't because they just don't believe this all the time, just when they remember it on weekends or reminded by people on occasion. Just as the video says.
I understand what you are saying and I hope this video won't prompt people to jump on the ban wagon against Christianity.
I don't believe Christians are fake. Just because you go to church on Sunday, then later sin doesn't make you any less Christian. By being a Christian you are striving to follow Jesus closer and are making progress, plus you get the added bonus of eternal life. That alone is why people need to convert to Christianity.

The reason why I quit believing in god is because I opened the bibleup and read it.
kingkong8974 1 year ago
@kingkong8974
The reason your quit believing is that you chose to quite believing - Faith defined:
(1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof
(2) : complete trust
You quit believing because you saw "no proof". Believe my friend, if you rely on man alone, you will be disappointed. All good things come from God.
