  • A radar dectector would do you good.

  • GPS doesn't give you an accurate speed when you're driving

  • Ask yourself this question: Is vandalising a STUPID speed camera a crime, if you don't get caught??

  • @namibgtv6 yes?

  • Answer me this, If a car goes speeding along and possibly causes an accident and then gets a speeding ticket a couple of weeks later isn't that a bit late?. If there were signs warning people a few hundred meters ahead, they would keep an eye on their speed, hence possibly avoiding an accident in the first place. If they are all about safety, why is there a lack of signage? esp in Victoria. Not for revenue raising my ass, booking for 5-7k's, really? FUCK OFF AND LET US DRIVE.

  • @Brikkyz its intended to monitor wether you are doing the correct speed

  • I don't have an issue with Speed Cameras per se , IF your over and I mean reasonably over say 5K or better then wear it ! BUT they HAVE to be accurate to better than 2 % IMHO and Tested by at least 2 separate agencies.

It also raises the question of accuracy of speedometer's modern cars.

On 3 different GPS based and one radar based unit my cars speedo is reading 100 for 98, 80 for 77 and 56 for 60 so I'm happy.

My beef is revenue raised DOES NOT get put back into road safety infrastructure.

  • Did I just see a 142$ fine for going 7 km/h over?!! That's fuckin ridiculous! At least our speed cameras don't get you until you are 9km/h over. I got one earlier for 18km/h over and it's 124$.

  • solution, shoot the camera with paintballs and if they clean em keep shootin them till they remove them :) they cant make the town pay for what 2 kids do on their saturday night unless they WANT people to get caught going 2 mph over the speed limit which everybody does

  • Vandalize the things so much that they remove them, heh heh.

  • im not suprised. as time goes on we are monitored more and more in our everyday lives. i'll bet they will start making j-walking cameras or cameras that make sure you clean up after your dog. ridiculous.

  • I would like to be on his jury... Not Guilty.

  • PIRATES come the revolution these fucking jobsworths will be shot.

  • LOL its funny to me to look at this stupid ass pig defending the cameras . last I herd they were taking them down though

  • 3km over? your speedometer can be off by that much

  • If you drive at or under the speed limit where I live, you will be rear ended. When you get to the speed camera you better know it's there, or you get a ticket.

It's all about the money. You have it and the gov't wants it. They have guns, and you don't. All they need is, an excuse to take it.

  • "we begin..." WITH YOUR DISGUSTING WHORISH NECK-LINE !!!

  • Your nailing people for going over by only 3 kilos. I hope some one puts a bullet in that cops head

  • @ventureelect what are there weight police for people going overweight?

  • love how cameras are hidden under the bridge

  • 3 KM? :0 doood i freaking go 5 MPH past cops

  • Victoria's speed policing seems a little extreme

  • @mozaks80 victoria is the most greedy CUNTS for speeding fine revenue in the world , we need ned kelly again to set the fucking cunts straight

  • @MrCohibaboy yes that if you don't want to get caught speeding, SLOW DOWN!!!!

  • @kwvaussie stfu , nobody wants to hear from you .

  • @bockydo took you long enough to come up with such a great comeback did mummy help?

So how long would it take for you to come up with your next words of wisdom, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month longer?

Have a great Christmas and may what you wish comes true, including you stop watching such crap as Today Tonight, you come up with a better come back and for you to realise you don't speak for others.

  • A fine for 3km over the limit?????

Where I live you can do 7-8 over the limit without a problem.

  • No, that is incorrect.

  • No, it is correct. I have driven past a police officer with a radar gun at about 7 miles per hour over the speed limit and I did not get stopped.

  • No, im not talking about whether your story is incorrect or not. Im telling you that your question in your previous post is incorrect.

  • @renesisrx8 where i live there are no speed limits on most highways, so come to germany people =)

  • Boo hoo. I'm a police media spokes person and I have to answer questions and take heat and cover up faulty and corrupt cameras.

Patton: "Just go pay your fine"

Victoria: Patton, just do this paperwork and answer to this media because we're not paying your revenue-raising fines. You don't like the attention and the paperwork? Easy! Resign or de comission the cameras.

  • These camera's are not faulty

  • It is a well know common fact these days that limiting the speed creates more of a chance to have a crash.

Research by universities have proven that because you are not constantly watching your speedo when you should be concentrating on the road ahead of you.

So it is very obvious that speed cameras are for just revenue raising and even though it might be, u still need to be responsible behind the wheel. If you are a responsible driver you will know where i am coming from and what i mean.

  • You are all little people being influenced by the media. Firstly ,you all calculate your infringements wrongly, secondly TAC dept is 3 billion per year. Tax payers pay this through indirect tax eg. (rego's) speed cams rake in only 400 million per year. You do the maths, revenue raising or debt consolidation? I'd rather let the incompetent driver who cannot keep their vehicle within the speed limit pay my TAC insurance. Thanks guys

  • nothing but a cash cow for the gov

  • why complain about if the cameras are accurate rather then if they should be used in the first place? You should keep up with traffic pace for safety in the first place. Also, why is the speeding limit set to fine you for such a small fraction of infraction? I smell pure revenue generation.

  • @potstab I don't know. some places I would agree with that...others I wouldn't. A man in houston texas was traveling in a construction zone. The set speed limit for that zone was 45....other drivers would still travel at around 75 mph. This driver was actually driving between 60 and 55 mph. He got cited for impeding the flow of traffic. Just curious but do you agree with that??
