Once upon a time, the Buddha was staying at a monastery near Anatha Pindaka's Park, near the Jets Grove, near the great city of Sharravastri, with a community of 1,250 monks. In the morning, he dressed, took up his bowl and entered the great city to beg for his food. After begging for his food, he returned to the monastery along with the other monks to eat the midday meal. ...More than simplicity, it is truth, describing a history of peace and a history of teaching....
I love Buddhism, I used to be a Christian but I always felt guilty that others were starving as I made a good living off of arms manufacturing support. Then I learned about Buddhism and now I can eat a steak sandwich while watching starving kids from Africa on TV and feel good that I pondered there suffering. I feel so enlightened, I am getting really good at thinking about not thinking and stuff too, I am so glad that I am happy, I hope you all can not care about one another too, its cool!
@jojoinhere Your mind is doing all the worrying-Just embrace some of this stuff without fear or guilt, then see it for what it is--a big screen tv is just that, enjoy it, unnecessary stuff-like worrying, it all has a purpose, just give it some attention then when you feel it has received enough attention, let it go, turn the tv off when you are done watching it. No comment on glorification-you can download the sutra from many translators-peace....
