728 is a nice tractor, but tons of tranny whine in this short clip. The Tuff Torque trans is very vocal. I would immediately change to a 5w -30 synthetic. If you want to go further, there is an upgrade pump and magnet kit. Just by the sound of this thing, you have probably already lost 30 -50 percent of torque.
>ctblazer05 There is video from operator's seat for one lenght of driveway on a lighter snow under same id
>ry4191 I bought the tractor with several attachments including 54" blade and quick hitch, 62" mower, TracVac chute for right around $10k. Got a decent trade allowance, could have done better selling it outright, but I didn't have enough cash to float two tractors, and can't go more than about 2 weeks any time of the year without one.
Very interesting. I had the same JD445 previously and can attest to the fact that it did a good job but had it's limitations. I have purchased a new JD x728 but have as yet to use it to push snow as we haven't gotten any this season but am really looking forward to the first outing!
I had a very capable JD 445 before this tractor, and it had enough power, but even with chains and wheel weights, it would eventually push up a wall of snow and then just spin. This 4wd and heavier tractor definitely worked better
The tractors saying "what snow?"
