They are forced (yes, forced) to work 8 - 7 shifts, often with forced over time (which they rarely get paid extra for, though legally, even in China, they should) ranging from the 7 - 12 stretch to all night if they have to fill an order, meaning multi-day, sleepless shifts.

These jobs are meticulous, mind numbing, often unsafe, and always underpaid, if they receive pay at all.

The world is a shitty place. >_>

i actually prefer manual jobs like this than a "desk job": when you're doing midless things like this your brain eventually learns the actions in an automated fashion, and you don't have to pay attention to your job, pretty much like once you learn how to ride a bike, you stop paying attention to the riding of the bike and you just ride, it becomes natural. Same thing with these jobs, his subconscious is doing most of the work, allowing him to leasurely chat away all day with his coworkers.
