I've recently got this game on cartridge playing it on my RetroDuo (Note: If you don't have an NES or SNES these things are totally worth the price. Occasionally though it'll have problems with music but still worth it.) Anyway, I play this game on hard and the farthest I can ever get is to the 7:20 mark. I can get past those rocks with lolpauseunpausepauseunpause but I can't even get past those laser guard asshole things. Any tips on bypassing them?
@Klonny I would probably recommend staying in the middle of the screen as far left as you can. when they start flying toward you start moving toward the right side of the screen as slow as you can without getting hit. With any luck by the time you get to the far right side you should have dodged them all or at least gotten past all but the last couple of them that you need to dodge.
@Klonny about the laser guards having the shield that makes you small is the easiest way to deal with them. if you notice when i first enter that area you can actually get extremely close to the wall without actually dieing. Being close to the top or bottom while being small you can dodge the lasers that they shoot. Do not kill them while they are in your lane because it makes it really hard to get past. Use your options to destroy them in another lane while dodging the lasers by being small.
This is awesome, but the arcade version is far more intense. I'm surprised that Konami actually lets you destroy the spider walkers in this one. In the arcade versions of 2, 3, and 4, those fuckers are indestructible and act as the last line of defense ahead of Gofer's giant pussy-ass brain.
yea I've only gotten as far as the one ice boss dude with the swinging tentacle arms....I usually die around there...I just love this game because of all the variety you can utilize with the powerups and such...there really is no wrong way to play
you would have to get something like zsnes or some snes emulator then dowload the Gradius 3 ROM somewhere. I got mine from a friend or i would give you a link
Most of this music was also used on Parodius.

It's TAS. It seems overly obvious to me. Not that you can't be really good... but he's circling bullets for fun at times. Clear sign of a slow-speed.

Tool Assisted = cheating. He's probably slowing down the gameplay to a crawl to dodge the bullets, etc.
No matter, I still find the video very entertaining. I finally get to see the stages I've never managed to get to.
