  • "Who says that I am dead knows naught at all."

  • i read Lord Brocktree when i was in grade three. before that, reading was hell to me. now i've got my nose in a book until two in the morning. i cried when i found out he died. RIP.

  • I love this man. It's been awhile since I've read the books, but when I was younger there were practically all I read. When I heard he had died I broke down crying.

I love how he creates characters right on the spot in front of all the people. He still makes me laugh after all these years.

Brian Jacques inspired me to write and now I'm in college majoring in it.

RIP Mr. Jacques. You will most certainly be missed.

  • RIP brian we love your books.

  • This is the only person in the entire host of UNIVERSES who can make me laugh no matter what. I know I am not the only one who misses him.

  • RIP :/

  • R.I.P Mister Jacques luckily I still have 4 more Redwall's left to read

and then I can just start them all over again

  • Great author, great man. I grew up with Redwall; Rest In Peace.

  • even after he's dead, Jacques is still giving us joy. (sigh)

  • One of the most imaginative authors from my childhood, certainly the one who sparked my interest in books fo the most part.

He had an exciting life, and he will be missed for the happiness he brought to so many.

    RIP

  • R.I.P! Your books were a big part of my childhood.

  • Great video for a great author. I could listen to him talk for hours.

  • His words on imagination from 7:37 -- 8:09 make me tear up... nobody has EVER used their imagination quite like he did. Thanks, Mr. Jacques, for sharing.

  • Bless him. What a man he was.

  • R.I.P Brian, you are and always will be my hero

  • RIP Brian... you were a godsend while I was growing up...and your books still are. You will be sorely missed.

  • rip from nova scotia

  • We have lost a treasured author!! Brian, you may be gone, but shall never be forgot!! Your wonderful work about animals and their fight for peace and comedic escapades have made many people's lives a little or a lot brighter, and shall continue to be treasured and brighten others as you have brighten ours!

  • R.I.P UNCLE BRIAN

  • Not only is he a great author! He could also have made a great comedian! :D

  • This dude is officially awesome! (Not that he wasn't anyway!)

  • Lol ten squillion midgets lmao

  • i've met him and seen him talk a few times. pretty much same routine and jokes, but he's still a hilarious delight. and he was a standup comedian among many other things, so no wonder he's so funny and good at what he does.

  • EULALIAAAAAAAAA!

    REDWALLLLL!!

    I love his books,especially Taggerung

  • I went to a signing with Jacques waaaay back in 1999, when the Redwall series was my life. It's so great to see that he hasn't changed a bit since; it's crazy that an author in his 70s can be so much more enthusiastic than most of the others much younger than him.

  • Such a great guy lol. Best writer ever...

  • I could listen to him all day! He's such a great storyteller, and funny too :D

  • Glad to finally see and hear the guy in action. One of Britain's great writers.

  • I love this guy so much. I want to meet this guy so bad.

  • He seems like a really nice man!

    Luv his books.

  • Brian Jacques is a boss.

  • man i love his book series and when they made the show i fell even more in love with the book series and show

  • oh man, i wish i could meet him, i love the book he wrote (Redwall) i even listened to the audiobook version of it and it made the book even more awesome XDD

  • Didn't understand ALL, but most of all I understood. It's so nice to see Mr Jacques)) He's really so funny!

We got only 19 books of Redwall in Russia, we're waiting the 20th now...

  • I remember this! I got him to sign my Copy of Doomwyte that dAy!

  • Eulalia!

  • This guy ROCKS! I love his books!

  • Love Brian Jacques. One of the greatest writers ever and definetly an inspiration to me. One of the things he has taught me is never understimate children or your audience. They are very intelligent people and will be a lot happier reading your books if they were to be considered intelligent. He writes realistically and with a wit and seriousness. I've had many a happy time reading his books. Must have been fantastic to actually write them!

  • I totally agree with you, This man was a complete inspiration to me and has even inspired me to write my own based on the same animal fantasy genre. Ive had a great time reading his books to, as for writing them. Well, if he's anything like me, he had his moments that he loved to write about and moments were he writes to get to the parts were he loves to write about. Like forwarding to the favorite part of a movie

  • a Good BLoke Greate Books too JK rowling Eat your Heart out.

  • rofl

    who said manchester united?

  • I've read all his books he's THE BEST AUTHOR EVER

  • @Taggerung777

    You have absolutly right!!!!!!!

  • i love that guy! i wish i culd go to his house and listen to him tell the redwall stories over tea n such. :)

  • I started reading his books at the age of 13 or so. I'm 22 now and I still read them. It would be a pleasure just to meet him, but to go to his house! I'd feel like I was 8 on granpa's lap, and not afraid to say so ;).

  • @vickersfan Me too!

  • @vickersfan Well he does do the narration in the audiobooks. Next best thing. :)

  • what a brilliant man.

  • Aha! So how does he look! Funny)

  • Haha! It's nice someone uploaded this, so now I get to re-live the experience twice (I was there, don't remember your though). I've got to tell you, my expectations of the guy were high, and I still under-estimated his comedic tendencies and vitality! Great job BJ, I hope he'll come down south again for another visit soon... maybe a little further southeast :)

  • no fair

  • I have that shirt the boy was wearing at around 5:47 :)

Brian is amazing! I saw him last year! :D He's a brilliant comedian. ^_^
