  • They ran the same speed. The whippet just was running harder as it was smaller.

  • I♥Doberman

  • @MrFastmotherfucker if you think it cant follow how the whippet runs, wait till you see the greyhound!

  • wow, if you were filming the greyhound run you would be spinning circle after circle, trying to film how fast it is!

  • Comment removed

  • you havn't seen our doby run....now thata fast

  • The Doberman is like a slow motion of the whippet

  • @MrBroski619 slow motion of the greyhound!

  • check out my whippet running 40mph nxt to my car jus typ whippet vs discovery

  • When the doberman runs, i'm feel totally fine. But when the whippet runs, my head feels dizzy - amazingly fast!

  • nice whippet

  • Holy ...fucken ... shit o.O

  • awe the dobey is soo much slower but love them both :)

  • barabara sounds like a ghost!!

  • That;s a fine whippet!

  • Gad DAMN Whippets are fast.....I knew they were quick but thats rediculous. I have a Doby and I know how fast they are but seeing the comparison is CRAZY!

  • just wondering but we just got a grey hound and we can find a collar like that for ut greyhound do u know were u buaght urs at r ono

  • Floppy ears are prone to ear infection, where as cropped ears allow air circulation. Look it up, its a fact that the floppy ears on dobermans take more dedication to keep clean and free from infections.

  • @smokeythatokey well do you want to ask the UK government why it is illegal to have the dogs ears done! i have two dobes with floppy ears and they dont have any problems!

  • @jackojeff You are right-an experienced vet at a respected Vet university says ear mutilation is for vanity only.Spaniels can get ear infections, but this is due to the heavy ear flap and excessive 'hairiness' of the ear-Dobes simply have no problems with ears or tails, [doorways excepted, but that is down to human carelessness] and cropping is done purely for looks - natural-eared Dobes work for the police/security, and do not suffer with ear trouble! It is purely for human vanity.

  • @jackojeff Honestly, I don't really care. Here in the USA we have a thing called freedom! To me, a doberman isn't a doberman without a crop and dock!

  • @smokeythatokey "Freedom" does, sadly, include "freedom to be a moron"... A doberman is a doberman because of hundreds of years of breeding to a standard, for a purpose; a doberman is not suddenly a chihuahua just because it has natural ears and a tail.

If floppy ears cause ear infections, then flopped-eared breeds would have constant ear infections and prick-ears would have consistently healthy ears. This is not the case. Ear infections have to do with the owner and dog health, not the ears.

  • @heartlessxocean Sure, do you even own a Doberman? The 5 different vets I visited, who happen to be against it anyway, said I should do it! They have natural dobermans in all the time for ear infections, But hey you know better then any of the 5 DVM doc's I visited! My doberman is on her 2nd week of taping. Even the first day she was home, she was her normal mischievous self, with no pain what so ever! All the natural ear dobe owners are ruining this breed, Mr. Doberman is rolling in his grave!

  • @smokeythatokey Lol. So because I don't own a Dobe, I must know nothing about dogs, right? And because I am using logic (flop ears =/= infections), then I'm a snob? No, I don't own a Dobe, but I do know about dogs; I am not a vet, and I don't claim to know more than them. I just use logic, and logic says that cropping and docking does NOT make a Dobe a Dobe. Logic also states that floppy ears don't cause ear infections-- poor health, crappy breeding and crappy owners cause ear infections.

  • @smokeythatokey @smokeythatokey I'll believe the AVMA, thank you. "The AVMA encourages the elimination of ear cropping and tail docking from breed standards. The former policy, approved by the AVMA House of Delegates in 1999, pointed out that cosmetic ear cropping and tail docking afford no benefits for animal patients, and advised veterinarians that they should warn clients about related, inherent risks of anesthesia, blood loss, and infection."

  • @smokeythatokey 'natural ear dobe owners are ruining this breed' What a fucking load of bollocks. So you're saying the years of careful breeding Mr. Doberman put into creating the breed has nothing to do with what they are? You ignorant sod. And also they used to have docked tails and ears for a purpose which no longer exists. It limits they're ability to communicate as a dog too. Plus I've only twice seen dobes round here in the UK with ear infections, we aren't allowed pricked ears.

  • Her registered name is Starlaine Turn Back Time. She is out of Ch Sherluck's Rock-Et man X Am Can Ch Sudahr Rumba Girl v Starlaine WAC. And I'm picking up my NEW puppy today :)

  • No comparison. The whippet is a speed demon, compared to the heavier boned doby.

  • who is your dogs breeder and what is her show name?

i have a black male named eastwicks obvious legacy aka junior, and a black female named eastwicks monster in the mirror aka. cassidy. junior is a brother to Eastwicks meadow monster aka Monty. and monty is cassidy's uncle. they are all great dogs :) i love them ♥

  • i think you can safely delete 3 min of this video

  • docking a tail on a big dog with a tail like a rottie or a doberman is actually a good thing... it sounds mean but I've seen both breeds essentially break their tail because of how fast and hard the wag it... its solid and they get it moving much faster than a regular retriever... on top of that its only noticed for a few days where being fixed can kill a dog if it bleeds too much.

  • Would be nice to see her running against the whippet :-)

  • Well i like dogs but WTF DID U WITH HIS TAIL AND HIS EARS!

  • @Dimcair Let me guess you're not in North America are you? It's called Cropping and Docking and it's done by a vet. My Manchester had his ears done and was giving more pain management than I was when I had a C-Section.

You're dogs are both gorgeous! I love both breeds! I also just started doing the Coursing Ability Tests with my Manchesters and it's *so* much fun to watch how excited they get when they run! Loved your video! Thanks for sharing it!

  • @blkntandogs its called animal cruelty

  • @tnerb99 Then by your definition spaying a female dog must be mutilation. Did you know they have to open the abdominal cavity to do that? And they usually aren't given any pain medications afterwards. Here's a novel idea for you - if you don't like the video don't watch!

  • @blkntandogs oh really? no spaying an animal is not for your visual pleasure. its to keep shoddy pet owners like you from continuing to over populate the breed. on the other hand croping and docking is mutilation for your visual pleasure there is no medical reason to dock a tail or crop the ears infact croping the ears causes medical conditions like ear infections.....here's a novel idea keep your stupd comments to yourself if you dont know what your talking about..

  • @tnerb99 Way to show your intelligence by making a judgments about someone you don't know. I'm not over populating any breed. I'm not a breeder. Get your facts straight. In my country it's not animal cruelty. Unless you plan on ruling the world all you can do is whine. You're doing a great job too! So to avoid you getting anymore small minded kicks I won't be replying to any more of your bile. It is impossible to argue with idiots, and I refuse to come down to your level.

  • @blkntandogs in your country?? bawhahaha just because its not illegal doesnt mean its not cruel, do you know that in some parts of india its legal to beat your wife...does that make it OK or right....stupid! You dont really need your middle toe lets just cut it off cuz it looks better real smart right! and the reason you cant argue with an 'idiot' is because you know the 'idiot' is right.

  • @blkntandogs and all so the dogs 'look better'..you would look better with a bag over your face, so go ahead and try that

  • Beautiful dogs. Don't know much about Whippets but I love your Dobie, one of the prettiest reds I've seen. The ears are nicely done too

  • Why does every Doberman video comment section have to devolve into a cropping/docking debate?

  • @FastestGrassAlive I agree! I've recently gone through hell over cropping my Manchester Terrier.... :/

  • Whippet won Lol

  • Who won???

  • Barbara? Why not use Janice? Hahaha

  • really lady you had to video tape your dog barking???

  • Beautiful ears on your dobbie!

  • he's not trained well at all!!

  • What an awesome "run". I wish there was one nearby for my Dobie. She would be loving it like crazy.

  • What an awesome "run". I wish there was one nearby for my Dobie. She would be loving it to death.

  • what beautiful dogs you have . . .. im considering buying a Doberman in the future, how are they ?

  • RUN BITCH RUN! HAHAH

  • Ugh, shut it up. How obnoxious.

  • My Dad had a red doberman named Jade when I was a toddler. He is the only thing from back then that I rememember the most about. Guess that was the earliest sign that I would grow up to be a dog lover. I haven't had much to do with dobermans since then, but they are gorgeous.

  • Beautiful dogs. Shame about the Dobermans tail though...

  • @juliaww And is ears. Heh. They should have their ears and tails.

  • @KieraJayne That is just ignorant. They are too young to even realize their tail was docked (done at 3 days) and cropping is just a minor inconvenience to most puppies. On the other hand they both have practical uses, besides the fact that they are just much more aesthetically pleasing. Docking prevents the dog from injuring it's tail in excitement (i've seen this before with an undocked rotty) and prevents an attacker from using it against the dog.

  • @WarriorDoc

What about the screaming that the pups give out when their tails and ears are cut without anasthetic? Would you do that to a 3 day old baby? "Oh the baby doesn't need that little toe, let's cut it off to stop him from banging his it on furniture when he is older..."

What about the other dogs? They can't tell whether the Doberman is friendly or sending a warning.

The only time it was acceptable to dock dogs' tails was when they used to pull carts.

  • @neishpot I have to agree with these comments, also filming a dog barking was pretty boring IMO

  • @KieraJayne The cropping provides similar protection against grabbing and increases their hearing and sound localization significantly. I have nothing against natural dobes, but don't hate on breeders who crop and dock. Besides, it's a hell of a lot less of a procedure than neutering or spaying and no one seems to have a problem with that.

  • poor bunny!!!

  • holly crap !!!!! im dizzy

  • watching you tease your Doberman is not impressive weirdo

  • the 1st isnt doberman i think

  • haha, too funnt - the Whippet was SO fast, and even the fit Dobe couldnt come CLOSE to her speed! Go Whippet, Go!!

  • I have one of Barbara's relatives here for a visit, Bayberry's Sam I Am! Your girl is lovely and so's the dobe!

I had to chuckle at the "is that a prong collar"... it OBVIOUSLY is not! However *any* tool used properly won't hurt a dog, it's the fools who don't know how to properly use something that hurts, even a plain buckle collar can. *sigh*

  • where did you get that doberman? nice...

  • @c3contact123 A friend of mine in Washington that breeds them.

  • she's really nice. whats her pedigree name? the black whippet

  • thanks, her registered name is Bayberry's It's Only Me.

  • @dfjw now Barbera makes sense,lol

    great vid

  • aw babiiee. haha feel bad for the frustrated doberman

  • lol the whippet ran like 3 times the speed of the dobe xD

  • let me runlet me runlet me runlet me runlet me runlet me runlet me run!!!

  • Barbara? What a strange name for a dog...it sounds so formal.

  • I have a red male dobe,he looks a whole lot like yours and may I say, your dobe is beautiful.

  • Man that whippie can fly! A whippie will outpace a grey for the first 50 yards or so on a straightaway course but a grey will catch up and pass thanks to the bigger stride. If you make it a lure coursing event with plenty of turns and lots of anles, the whippet will crush the grey. Think of a whippet as smaller greyhound with the agility of a jack russell.

  • the greyhound passes the whippet at approximately 80yards/meters

  • @memyselfundeye - Whippets are Fur-raris! ;)

  • *sigh*

why do people have to be so ignorant and negative? NO it's not a prong collar, it's a Herm Sprenger Fur Saver collar. *head slap*

  • @beagleman123456789 they are sight dogs so they are faster and poodles are sporting dogs that were first breed for hunting so of corse they would chase it Gidiot (Giant Idiot)

  • @beagleman123456789 your a retard, i kinda want to punch you really hard

  • Comment removed

  • the doberman is slow compared to that first dog. what is a whippit. never seen one. i know dobermans are fast so that thing was going like hell.

  • @jleebesaw I don't know the exact lineage of a whippet but you can think of them as slightly smaller greyhounds. And yes they are fast as stink. I believe a greyhound would have outpaced the whippet though, but I can't be sure.

  • you have a beautiful doberman! I have a black male and I want a red female =), both your dogs are great and look well taken care of and like there have tons of fun!.lol

  • Yes, she is a large and slow doberman. Seeing as they aren't exactly race dogs however and she is just having a tremendous amount of FUN I don't hate on her for it. I adore my big, slow, goofy girl.

  • @dfjw I had a red dobie and she was gorgeous and had the biggest heart. Your big, slow, goofy girl is just fine. And maybe she looks slow because she has a longer stride length since she is a larger dobie. But who cares right...

  • Nowhere near as fast as my whippet.

  • Sorry, I didn't see your whippet in that practice run. I'm tremendously happy for you though. This is certainly not the fastest whippet out there, it was just a video of her very first time around the oval. I don't remember bragging about blinding speed anywhere.

  • Nice crop job on the dobie.

  • that's a nice built dobe u got

  • Your dogs are beautiful! I especially love your Dobie. She looks like mine, except mine's a little overweight. Your dogs look so happy! (:

  • Thanks for trying to set then straight...I have two Dobies, and part of earning their keep is barking!!

I especially liked the "my house, my rules" comment.

  • holy shit that dog is fucking fast

  • His a MACHINE

  • what a good sport for the pups!

  • Gotta love black Whippets :) I have 2 black and white Whippet girls. They love the lure !!!

  • Hahaha your camera can barely keep up with Deborah! Few things are more majestic than watching your dogs run free like that. Great vid!

  • WHIPPET IT......, WHIPPET GOOD, LOL

  • lol at how slow the doberman looks after watching the Whippet

  • my god she was fast at the first lap..

  • that looks like a lot of fun for you doggies.

  • every dog is built for a specific reason...the whippet is built for speed while the dobies is built fro speed but which isnt his main purpose

  • barbera is so freaking fast

  • Go Cher!

  • beautiful whippet!

  • wow i want to get a doberman really badly

  • i feel your pain.

  • voll der hässliche hund enehlt eine ratte

  • man Barbara's fast
