To those criticising, you need your ears checked, musically, this version is perfect. It is just very sad that the timing for this show on the West End resulted in a short run. To those being critical about haircuts, you obviously have no place in theatre.

As i've said on other videos, I was luck enough to see the Original London Cast and the Original Broadway Cast (Lea and Jonathan) and although it was the Broadway show that made me fall in love with the show, I do not remember the vocal for this song being so tight. Currently teaching this with some students, and every harmony line is so important for the overall sound of the song, so credit to EVERYONE singing, because the blend is beautiful. The top notes are flawless, top E (Wendla)....NICE.

Yes you can still have your own interpretation on a character, but the look is also very important.

I think Lucy Barker was PERFECT for the part of Ilse, she played the part with beauty and perfection. It's the part I would prefer to play in Spring Awakening, but I don't think I would ever want to attempt it after watching Lucy. What a talented girl.

But what an outstandingly talented cast. And how dare you be so personal to Lucy and the rest of the cast - yes the hair cut and colour might have changed but if that was a part of Lucy's interpretation of Ilse then it just was. Accept it. In a character, appearances still matter and you have to look the right part - I know this isn't the greatest comparison, but could you see a blonde or brown haired Annie?? I don't think so.

Personally, I think you should have taken advantage of this opportunity because to pay so little for a London theatre trip in itself is immensely good value - but to pay so little for seeing a cast this talented, each actor making the characters their own, and getting so involved in the story and the characters, I'm sorry but that was priceless. Each time I went I came out saying I definitly would have paid 60quid for a ticket, and still seen it as many times as I did.

Oh dear..I have just read all these comments. I'm not posting anything bad because I absolutely ADORED Spring Awakening and thought the cast was fantastic each and every time I saw it. Whatever you name is - 'JimmyandSammy' - I think it was anyway, the play didn't 'flop' or anything, it had to be cut short because they were trying their best to get under 25's into the theatre so selling tickets at a discounted price - which most of us loved because we could see it so many times.

I saw the show at Lyric Hammersmith and I was blown away by it in ever since. It's content, it's style, and it's performance was incredible, and it is one of the most dynamic pieces of musical theatre. Whoever said it's shit is lashing out because someone challenged their attempts to be rude, and judge someone who is incredibly talented and has an amazing career ahead of them. I wish all of the cast the best and look forward to their work in the future.

Where do people get their facts from these days...really...the cast (and crew!) for Spring Awakening London, were utterly fantastic at what they did, the closure was due to ticket sales caused by recession and poor advertising.
