If your to embarrassed to worship god because your self conscious about what everyone else is thinking about you, then all your doing is just denying god. Jesus said himself, that if you deny his father, then his father will deny you before the gates of heaven.
I will not raise my hands in the church anymore (unless the spirit of God takes over and I forget that other people are in the room) because I know that once I do, I will feel self conscious. I'll be too busy thinking about people watching me and what they think, that it won't even be about God anymore and it won't be sincere. So, for now I just worship God through my life, by going to him in everything that happens, good or bad.

I understand everyone's concerns. Its all in good fun though. I can tell you, however, that this movie wasn't meant to take a stab at anyone. When I worship, I understand that my praise is real and that my soul cries out. Therefore, when I saw this video, it made me laugh. If it offends someone, then maybe someone is simply convicted because they are afraid that a simple video discredits or somehow invalidates their moments in God's presence. They aren't sure themselves, and it convicts, maybe?

Worship isnt something that has rules. You worship however you feel like, as long as it helps you come in contact with God; no one has the right to judge that.
@SirPhillipUnicorn This appears to be satire. What you say is obviously true, but there definitely appears to be a convention with worshipping. While this convention is mainly due to the body's actual physical reaction to worship most of the time, it can still be fun to poke fun at it. :P

People...this is a parody! As a prior youth leader and a worship leader I love the lightheartedness of this video. This video would be used prior to a worship set to prepare the mood. Those who have never done this would not know how hard it is to switch gears and try and prepare students to worship right out of the gate. We worship the Living God by obeying Him and by serving Him with an eye single to His glory. By making our calling and election sure by seeking out the spirit as a constant companion, which is only given by the laying on of hand by one hold true authority. When I was an unconverted young man in a Pentecostal church, I did actually raise my hands to appear more "spiritual". However, in my experience at least, most of the others there were genuinely attempting to worship God.
They forgot the fire, you have to say that you feel the fire of God. After you said so you break down and the others will take you out of the event room. Then you are free and you can go and hang around in a bar or something.
I will give it to you that this is funny, but worship shouldn't be just about looking good in front of everyone else. This video just shows you how to look good in front of your peers. Worship is really about connecting with God.

Show this to youth groups of your church ? no chance , to worship the lord is heart felt and god can see your heart , what are you showing your youth in the church by showing them this video , yeah raising your hands to the lord is a good feeling of submiting to him but thats not for everyone if they dont feel comfortable about it , if your doing things like dancing and raising your hands just because joe bloggs next to you does it then you maybe need to ask yourself a few questions

His mother prayed with her church elders before allowing him to go to Atlanta to record demo tapes. His film "Never Say Never" is replete with Bible verses and Christian themes, and he openly acknowledges his faith, having said "I believe that Jesus died on a cross for my sins" and "He's the reason that I'm here." So yes, Justin Bieber is a Christian.

No actuality this is worship its worship that's going to get us through from day to day now this video may not show it but this is not worship at its full momentum. Ihave seen people jump up and jump pughs. Oh yea and people get saved over 145 people got saved. Last year at my church. Whoooooo that's God.

That isn't worshiping.
We worship the Living God by obeying Him and by serving Him with an eye single to His glory. By making our calling and election sure by seeking out the spirit as a constant companion, which is only given by the laying on of hand by one hold true authority. We worship Him by trusting in Him and His Son, and by searching the scriptures and humbly obeying the quiet promptings of the spirit. This is a vain and spiritually idol nonsense.

@Salvation2Praise , if we are to worship (through song and dance) truly, our thoughts won't be focused on mannerisms, but adoration and connectivity to His Spirit. Though, we also worship the LORD by being mindful of others' salvation and growth in Christ during worship services =D

And yes, very funny. It's a gentle, affectionate mocking, coming from insiders, which I'm not used to (I'm more used to Marcus-Bridgestocke- or Dara-Ó-Brian-style rants, or Tim-Minchin-style outsider mocking, which is also funny but in a very different way). This video was made by people who were laughing at themselves. And they're laughing at worshippers, not at worship.
As an ex-JWitness, this style of worship is alien to me too.

Very funny! My wife and I enjoyed it. I've been a pastor for many many years and my message to the "religious" types who were so offended is this: "Pharisee, says what?" You guys make the rest of the Christians look bad. Now I'll let you get back to judging other people who are not as holy as you. FAIRWOOD. You guys should do a piece on "how to appear to be religious." First, find a lemon and suck on it for several minutes. Now you look holy!

Check out John 4:23-24. Jesus tells us to worship in spirit and in truth. Honest, genuine, no rituals and elaborate ceremonies. You're right, relationship is the goal. But worship can help us get there.

yeah, people need to learn to recognize and appreciate a good satire. Obviously this was done in jest of those who do not truly worship God from their heart. And even those that do, there are a few things in there that I would do, not to be "more spiritual" but I dont want to kill the guy next to me, lol. overall, very funny very true, and very sad that people do do this for the sake of appearance

When I was an unconverted young man in a Pentecostal church, I did actually raise my hands to appear more "spiritual". However, in my experience at least, most of the others there were genuinely attempting to worship God.

god is all emotions at once well with the exception of a few and he wants us to be alive and whole in him when I worship I jump I shout I cry I laugh I dance I do all those things worship doesn't have to be the same from person to person that's what's so great about it and this video rocks as long as it centered on god and biblical it's oh and btw in one of the verses in one of the samuels david dances to worship the lord so it is biblical to do this kinda stuff

Dance, sing, close your eyes, raise your hands- they're fine methods of worship as long as they are centered on God.

Only God knows the heart and he knows whether our clapping, dancing, crying, singing, falling, whistling, waving flags, raising hands, shaking, praying or playing is sincere worship. <3

@1LG1116 I so agree! So many times we worry so much about the people around us. I know people who are tone deaf who sing their lungs out. In the Korean church the older generation claps on beats 1 and 3... It doesn't make it wrong. It's not about how. It's about the why.

Ok, so some of you may be offended by this tongue in cheek video -- but I have to tell you that I laughed out loud a few times! I remember what it was like to be brand new at my church and feeling like I was out of the loop.
Of course there’s no right or wrong way to enter into praise and worship. Clap if you want to or don’t, I’m not going to judge you
