I have a brother and sister (half) maine coon. The Lilly is tortoise and the Herman is black. Most affectionate cats I have ever had. They follow me around the house and are all over me as soon as I sit down. Herman actually loves to sleep with me and lets me hold him like he is a teddy bear...he'll stay like that for hours.

Beautiful cats! I love Maine Coons. My fiance's parents have several, and they are wonderful animals. I will add this, though; they are not the only cats who play fetch. My "mutt" orange tabby kitty Tangelo loves to play fetch with plastic bottle caps, and my tabby/Abyssinian cat Choppy will occasionally play fetch, too, if he's in the mood!

My cat does this too. Most times she will bring the toy to me but sometimes

she will run and look at me .... like you have to catch me.

Yes, you can train most cats to do this, not just Maine Coons.

I have a regular mix breed cat that I got from a rescue shelter and he is obsessed with paper, especially paper balls and he plays fetch just like a dog. It's hilarious!!

my friends cat does that, its a tabby. its a cats natural instincts to please there owner. thats why a cat will kill a mouse and bring it to you. its like a gift. same thing with the ball. thats why hes "playing" fetch.

I had 2 black domestic short hairs. And the daughter would fetch small paper balls (or tin foil balls). I would place it on the floor, put my finger behind it, and she would crouch down and wag her tail in anticipation, Then I would flick it past her and she would tear off, track it down, and bring it back in her mouth, and drop it for me for another round. Those cats gave me years of joy, and I look forward to getting a maine coon in the future...

lol u got your maine coon cat to play fetch! I have a deluted torby named gizzy. all she does is eat sleep and poop in a box. she's a lil fat. her belly is like floppy or something and when she runs it swings from side to side. its funny. plus her belly hair is a lil longer so it almost touches the floor. (short legs)

It's great that he plays with cat toys. I've got a Maine Coon who loves fetch, but he's very particular about what he plays with.  He pretty much only likes hair ties and those safety rings from the tops of plastic milk and juice cartons.

Giggle. My Maine Coon will fetch things in the middle of the night, when he wants to play. Trouble is it's sometimes knives or other things you really don't need to play footsie with...

My Maine Coon, Basil, will do this for HOURS. I've actually had to hide the mouse before so she could catch her breath and I could get a break!

I have a black maine coon, she naturally played fetch from a kitten.....

Then we got a little tabby shorthair, and she decided to copy the game.... now my maine coon has got to 8 years old she's bored of the game, but the wee one she still loves to play it!

Especially with the ring top seals from 2 litre milk cartons, the blue rings that comes on them. She as them hidden al over th house, under rugs, under doors, in cupboards.... you name it shes hidden it!!

My maine coon is way better bigger and smarter than any other cat out there..maine coons are the best cats you can get...mine is Mr. cuddels and he only plays fetch when no other cats are around and yes othere cats play fetch my siamese does..but you have a beautiful cta. i dont know what i would do without mr cuddels id probaly slit my throat if i ever lost my baby.

They are 1/2 brothers, same father different mother. Jasper looks exactly like his father but Apollo takes after his mother except in their faces. Also, Jasper has a different texture to his fur.
