I bought my Gary Fisher Big Sur in 2008 for 1,500 dollars. I was excited and happy, after I received it I noticed a sticker on it, it said "Made in Taiwan"

What?? If I had known this I would not have bought the thing. It's still good though light and strong.

Don't worry my friend. Taiwan is one of the world leading manufacturers. They make half the world's computer parts. Standards are very high. I have carbon wheels made in Taiwan and they are very good. Giant, I think is a Taiwanese company.

@chucholetsm8one almost all branded bicycles are made in Taiwan and they are made in factories. nothing wrong with that actually. i love human touch. and i also love machine's precision. sharp and accurate. they don't get sad or unhappy days. even Colnago are built in Taiwan. and they are still wonderful bicycles.

@chucholetsm8one they won't build so many if no one is buying. and for your information, Steel frame is the best. if you have ridden one you'll know. yes they are heavy but they have many desirable chracteristic and in fact, those carbon and aluminium builders are trying to make their rides feel like steel bike but lighter.
