@ashaki007, What you said is dead on. Most people are really nice and gorgeous (I would move back just for the people) but South Florida is notorious for rude and materialistic people. Honestly, the main reason I didn't like it that much was the lack of jobs and lack of space. I don't like being sandwiched between the gators and the ocean. Also the class differences are ridiculous.

The 80s was the last "hurrah" for Ft. Laud. Right after the city put up the infamous wall on the strip, and the so-called "beautification project," it was never the same and part of the strips original charm died. It was just to discourage all the madness that was caused during the height of the spring break era. Back then we didn't have cellphones, laptops or ipods for entertainment, we would go to the beach or to the mall when raining. The place now is nothing but a shadow of it's former self

ive been to this boat tour its beautifull i personaly stayed in lauderdale by the sea in a family owned hotel for 100$ a night beachfront during the air and sea show and that city is beautifull but the outskirts are not but overall great vacation for me ..great flight from lax to fll beats going to miami int.

I lived there for 3 years, and it was real fun at first, but once you're there...it's all the same...and the people for the most part are NASTY! A majority of the Floridian natives are on some high horse in need of a reality check, and the ppl who were like me, from out of state...it really fucks with your head after a while...and it takes some time to get out of.
