Meh, his name is just in there because he's shown for the first time at the end of the player. He's Capcom's biggest thing now, since he's supposed to be a "hero" after RE5.

Really, he's never done much without a female partner backing him (proof that RE women are full of awesome). Even in Code Veronica, he only survived because of that random explosion at the end.

Don't hate on Chris man, he's a beast with or without woman. You can say the same about Leon, the only reason he killed the huge "G" thing at the end of RE2 was thanks to Ada giving him a rocket launcher and Claire helping him out too. Same thing goes for RE4 Ada gave him a rocket launcher again and helped him out the second half of the game. All the RE games had something to do with teamwork so you cant blame Chris for having partners.

I know, I'm not hating on him exactly. I actually like his older version. I rather dislike him in RE5, but then again the game wasn't finished, so a lot of his scenes and dialogue was cut, which is why his portrayal didn't seem quite consistent. I'm generally just not an RE5 fan.

Yeah. I mean, suddenly he's larger than the Hulk and just solves everything with his fists....he had his moments, but he just seemed more like a stereotypical "hero" in RE5. Not as well-rounded as the series shows him as. But as I said, a LOT of scenes were cut.

And the RE women are my favorite characters. Leon's portrayal has also improved in Darkside Chronicles (I wasn't crazy about him in RE4), and his character has been explained more. RE has a great cast. =)

Not really. Steve does confess to loving her, and while she may be slightly attracted to him and does care for him, she never says she loves him. Likely because she doesn't. In the original Code Veronica, she never shows any signs of romantic affection towards him like she did in this trailer, though she does cry when he dies and is angry with Wesker afterwards.

And no, she doesn't really like Leon either. They were fellow survivors, so she counts him as a friend. Degeneration shows her feelings

No, Leon was flirting with HER, but she wasn't quite flirting with him. As a matter of fact, she blew him off when at that point she had no reason to. Yes, she does have warm feelings for him, but not enough to start a romantic relationship. And definitely not enough to say she loves him. Part of the proof is in Leon's presentation, Capcom seems to want to make him the guy that gets all the girls - except the one he actually wants (Claire). She's never made any advances on him.

it will happen in RE 6 , you'll see. Plus capcom has 'changed' the story a bit for darkside chronicles RE2 scenerio....who knows, it might involve leon and claire in some more romantic scenes.

1) You really don't know that, nor do you have any evidence to support it. If it does, then hooray. If not, then things will be as they have been since RE2. They'll have a tough time explaining it if it does happen.

2) The Chronicles games don't retcon the previous ones. Only exclusives are canonical. Example: Chris and Jill went through the mansion SEPARATELY, even RE5 states that. The Chronicles games just focus on telling the overall story, only new information is canonical (such as Russia).

And, to clarify that, if there is some new romance in DC and they make a big deal out of it, it'll be considered canon. But don't take every single action and word they speak and make as being new canon. Trust me, it'll be a big deal if they heighten the romance.

Also, I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm just presenting this because you asked, and I'm a long-time RE fan. So don't take any offense to any of this. :)

I'm not a Chris fan and although Chris and Jill seem to have something for each other to some degree, the idea of them making out scares me. XD But yeah, I do know what you mean. I don't care much for a romantic *ending*, (more dramatic than romantic) but have it in the story. Code Veronica did a great job at that. As an RE5-hater, I will say that the only thing it did somewhat right was character interactions. Cliche, yes, but they tried. RE always has hinted couples. Claire + Leon = win.

(RE1?)It's not really that so much as the way the game plays out. It never attempts to scare you at all, you just run around shooting anything that moves. Chris' muscles aren't very appealing to me, but it's really more the fact that I never actually felt like the odds were against me in this game like in previous ones, among a million other reasons.

But I'm actually not a Chris fan because of his lack of intelligence. Never have been. Though I will admit, I liked REbirth's Chris to some degree.

yes i understand. RE5 was really not scary at all compared to RE4. RE4 left you all alone against so many bitches to fight, so many 'button-timed' action scenes to survive, it was the best RE game by far. And i like leon's sense of humor too. The kraser fight was by far the best, better than wesker i think.

Personally, I prefer the older games. RE4 was far better than RE5 and was as action-oriented as an RE game should really get and still be RE. Either that or the Russian level in Umbrella Chronicles.

And yes, Wesker's fights were interesting, but not actually hard as far as gameplay goes. I tried playing through RE4 after playing RE5 for awhile and died VERY fast.

Heck, I tried playing RE2 after RE5 and didn't make it past the first zombies.

so true, old RE games are true survivals....new ones are too action-based. I like the fact that there were still puzzle solving in RE4, but RE5 had one puzzle per 5 levels. And I don't care about BSAA badges, capcom made those to make us play longer.

Exactly, I agree with you. RE5 had...what, one puzzle? That laser puzzle that seemed totally out of place. I could have SWORN Prince of Persia had the exact same thing at one point....

Those emblems were irritating, like you said, and they broke the fourth wall...no reason to be there at all, unlike the medallions in RE4. There's no excuse, REUC had scary moments, so Capcom CAN still make RE scary. The Fourth Survivor scenario was disturbing.

I agree with you, XZolidus. More proof that RE5 was an action game and not really a Resident Evil game. I get that he needs to be ready for any situation, but really? He uses his giant muscles as an answer to *everything*! What's irritating about it is that in Umbrella Chronicles, he actually did acrobatics at one point.

So he went from being a mix of agility and strength (mostly strength) to being nothing but muscles. Goku's got nothing on this.
