The only thing which is stopping me from wanting this is the touch analogue sticks, they could of implemented analogues that fold in and out when you close and open the tray. I guess the only problem with that would they would rub against each other.

I think Sony was kinda dumb when designing this phone. The reason that the iPhone gets so much hate as a gaming device (besides the fact that it's an apple product) is because people hate using touch screen controls. While yes, this phone has a d pad and a few buttons, they kept the touch screen joysticks, this thing is useless for shooters and many other games. This seems to be more of a nes emulator kind of phone. All of the controls, except for the triggers, can be replicated by a simple sli

@shadowcristi I don't really think so. Consumers who are gaming centric in the mobile industry sought for mobile devices that have good controls and content based games such as metro. Since the mobile industry for smartphones is emerging rapidly, it is great to see a smartphone with both playable controls and a great gpu in it, aka sgx 540. I personally hate touch screen console emulated controls. But I still love the help of gyroscopes shifting view angles in first person shooters.

Glad to see engines being optimized for that device. Its just such a shame Sony Ericsson made the specs so low. With something like tegra 2 it would be a far more interesting device.

If you don't own a device with a dpad don't buy titles that require a dpad.

I'd prefer a device with a full qwerty keyboard because I don't intend to game on my phone.

You could also opt for a device with neither physical input and get a thinner device.

@Devastationable and so is windows. Fragmentation is nothing when the operating system have the proper developer tool kits to handle fragmented platforms. For windows, it is directx. For android, it starts with gingerbread. If developers are knowledgable of what they are doing, they can created fragmented apps without undermining compatibility.
