This is where I am going to have to disagree with you Marina. Although such tools are quite useful for one in your position, I really feel that tools like this, and especially spell check, are ruining the general public's ability to write properly.
Ex. I have a friend who is an AI researcher. He is always telling me about how terrible people are at grammar and spelling at his job, yet he works in a company that hires mostly from MIT graduates. I just feel that we have become too reliant.

I realize, I have lost my command over correct grammar over the years. Good that you made me realize this. I will try to be careful of grammatical errors from now onwards whenever I write something.

Hmmm... there is a fundamental problem with such spelling/grammar checker - search Youtube for "The impotence of proofreading" for a funny approach to it.
A company with a website based in Israel seems to lack credibility with providing a credibile "English" grammar product. A spell-checker is totally possible from them. But grammar of written language? They don't use vowels in writing. It's too weird.
Thank you Ms. Marina Hotforwords. I just wish these people would have learned grammar in school rather than just having to rely on a program to do it for them. I overheard a teacher in on of my classes saying kids are now trying to write high school papers with the text messaging symbols and emoticons. I definitely think it's a good idea to use a product like Whitesmoke. It doesn't have to be Whitesmoke, though. I use a basic spell checker, etc., often, and it helps me out a lot.

In this video you say "Well, the way to my heart is through proper grammar" implying that if someone buys the program they might get a date with you or win your heart. That's kind of sleazy.
Is grammar really the way to your heart? Is what someone says or does irrelevant as long as it's grammatically correct?
You don't disclose that you are being compensated for your promotion. That's at least a potential conflict of interest that a person should know to help them make an informed decision.
You also don't review other options like free software, free online applications and applications like Microsoft Word that have built in spelling and grammar checkers.
I have to agree with several others that have said that you are selling out.
As a teacher you should have only the highest ethics and integrity. Please don't violate your fiduciary responsibility or your student's trust.
This is great. Your accent is about the only clue you give to the fact that English isn't your native language. I wish my Spanish was as fluent as your English.

There are certainly some idiots on your watcher list (insult intended) who could use the product, but I normally use fairly good grammar, both in speech and in my written comments, so I'm not picking it up. I just got the Whitesmoke program. It works very well. Of course it can't get everything right, like when I wrote "I is the ninth letter of the alphabet" it kept trying to correct it to "I am the ninth letter of the alphabet".
Also, it seems like they are trying to avoid telling you the price before asking you to agree to order. That seems a little bit deceptive.
lol I don't have a problem with my written English skills or grammatical tendencies. Occassionally, I'll mispell a word, but other than that, I'm happy with the way I type. It reads as it should sound. I type this way all the time. Butchering the language with abbreviations for everything doesn't make it any easier to understand. "Life" is not spelled "lyfe" in anyway for abbreviation purposes. Dawg was not a real word, the slang even started as Dog. So, I don't know, slang=stupid.
Oh do shut up you pompous fool. Slang is how young people express new cultural concepts the oldsters are incapable of understanding. And your statement about abbreviations is utterly nonsensical. "Life" and "lyfe" are exactly four characters each, so how could "lyfe" be an abbreviation for "life?" Slang words are as real as neologisms. I don't need a dictionary to tell me what a "real" word is. I decide myself. There are thousands of words not listed in any dictionary, but they're still "real."
That's all well and good, however, throwing an insult to instill a point is bad form, but I'll ignore that for the time and respond. My point was that if you take a look at the grades of High School English students, you'll notice a heavy decline in the past few years. And trust me, I'm not old. I'm 22. My opinions are based on the fact that noone around my age range seems to care as much as they should about being educated.
Ha, well 22's old for me. And as for high school English grades being on the decline, I have two things to say. One is that (I'm assuming you're talking about America) us American youth, as a whole, are stupid. That's just how it is and always will be. Also Mexican immigrants have brought grades down further. The other thing is that I made a C in English last year, yet I could spell better than my teacher and wrote the best essays in the class. I got a low grade because I don't do the busy work.
Further more, I asked someone my age what a preposition was: they couldn't answer. Granted, I don't think about sentence structure as I speak, I doubt many do, but written language is completely different. Or at least, it should be. Can you, someone I find intellegent enough to form a relatively deep response, tell me that you don't take the time to express your point in a more thought out manner when typing as opposed to speaking? If you can honestly say you type exactly as you speak ::shrugs::
But might i point out that while this may be the case, language, as you most CERTAINLY know, because of what you ARE and DO (word history for instance :P) is constantly evolving and changing, to better suit... erm... stuff... every day life... or something :) and things :D

In this video you say "Well, the way to my heart is through proper grammar" implying that if someone buys the program they might get a date with you or win your heart. That's kind of sleazy.
Is grammar really the way to your heart? Is what someone says or does irrelevant as long as it's grammatically correct?
You don't disclose that you are being compensated for your promotion. That's at least a potential conflict of interest that a person should know to help them make an informed decision.

As a teacher you should have only the highest ethics and integrity. Please don't violate your fiduciary responsibility or your student's trust.

I just got the Whitesmoke program. It works very well. Of course it can't get everything right, like when I wrote "I is the ninth letter of the alphabet" it kept trying to correct it to "I am the ninth letter of the alphabet".
Also, it seems like they are trying to avoid telling you the price before asking you to agree to order. That seems a little bit deceptive.

lol I don't have a problem with my written English skills or grammatical tendencies. Occassionally, I'll mispell a word, but other than that, I'm happy with the way I type. It reads as it should sound. I type this way all the time. Butchering the language with abbreviations for everything doesn't make it any easier to understand. "Life" is not spelled "lyfe" in anyway for abbreviation purposes. Dawg was not a real word, the slang even started as Dog. So, I don't know, slang=stupid.

"Life" and "lyfe" are exactly four characters each, so how could "lyfe" be an abbreviation for "life?" Slang words are as real as neologisms. I don't need a dictionary to tell me what a "real" word is. I decide myself. There are thousands of words not listed in any dictionary, but they're still "real."

That's all well and good, however, throwing an insult to instill a point is bad form, but I'll ignore that for the time and respond. My point was that if you take a look at the grades of High School English students, you'll notice a heavy decline in the past few years. And trust me, I'm not old. I'm 22. My opinions are based on the fact that noone around my age range seems to care as much as they should about being educated.

Ha, well 22's old for me. And as for high school English grades being on the decline, I have two things to say. One is that (I'm assuming you're talking about America) us American youth, as a whole, are stupid. That's just how it is and always will be. Also Mexican immigrants have brought grades down further. The other thing is that I made a C in English last year, yet I could spell better than my teacher and wrote the best essays in the class. I got a low grade because I don't do the busy work.

Further more, I asked someone my age what a preposition was: they couldn't answer. Granted, I don't think about sentence structure as I speak, I doubt many do, but written language is completely different. Or at least, it should be. Can you, someone I find intellegent enough to form a relatively deep response, tell me that you don't take the time to express your point in a more thought out manner when typing as opposed to speaking? If you can honestly say you type exactly as you speak ::shrugs::
