@SolidusSnake142 Yep, that's him, As a matter of fact, he made his first ever appearance on an EPMD album. He was on the songs "Hardcore" and "Brothers On My Jock" on their third album "Business As Usual".
You say Hannah Montana-i fucking punch you in the face
92% of teenagers have turned to New school and Pop.If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 5 videos.
are some of you really comparing magoo to q tip? did this dumb ass say magoo had better sales? who the FUCK bought magoo? tribe records still sell to this day. and when they do shows, they pack any venue from here to japan. magoo couldnt pack a club in virginia. that is the most ridiculous shit ive ever heard. selling one record cant compare to an artist or group who have enough fans that they can tour the rest of their lives. these rappers get NOTING for record sales. tribe will live forever
somebody is talking about mase,on epmd shit?u see this younger generation will never invent anything only utube and facebook so they have a place to talk shit.u see hip hop started in the 70's so by mid 80's and early 90's we have the golden era from east an west,by now we have the dirt era if u know what i mean.pls don't discuss mase when epmd is on business.
FUCK these advertisements. I hope these companies realize they are making me never want to buy their shitty products. We can't have anything new (youtube) without motherfuckers storming in trying to make every last penny. They had to get us all hooked on youtube before they start shoving these ads into our minds with their crazy psychological methods of programming us.
This track is more powerfull than the album version. It's typical for EPMD to make beats stronger and clear. I think it's an influence of Erick Sermon. (look his freestyles) Best wishes for them from Hungary!
@unshutoptic1 I knew first the other version in 1991, it wasn't my favourite, therefore I was glad as I found this one with new mix in background, because before that I enjoyed only its text. Now I like both of them in this context. :)
This track is more powerfull than the album version. It's typical for EPMD to make beats stronger and clear. I think it's an influence of Erick Sermon. (look his freestyles) Best wishes for them from Hungary!
@billyripp i know my history and i know they were first with the lazy rap voice but mase popularized it. like kanye popularized high speed samples when rza was doing that on the first bob digital album
@planetoftheapes You said Mase is the king of lazy rap voice, how dare these guys try to copy him. I responded that. If you grow up watching Yo MTV raps or Rap City in the 80's and 90's you knew EPMD. EPMD was a known rap group I had white friends bumping them This new generation might not know them, but people in my generation do. I have to disagree with you, but Mase is not the king of lazy rap voice.
@planetoftheapes Man! I'm gonna put like this EPMD are pioneers in the game Mase lame as hell. I don't know your age group, but you need to listen to Epmd shit strickly bussiness and so on and so on. Epmd was straight up east coast. As for CMW they were o.k, but look to much like N.W.A, and by the the time Cmw came out EPMD were on their third Album.
@billyripp that's fine they are pioneers i respect that, i'm just saying mase "commercialized" that style...after he came out and that "In the beginning" album came out with almost everyone sounding lazy voiced like the weak ass bone cover of fuck the police, we because they were on the mase bandwagon... they didn't try soundling lazy in the early 90's when epmd were at a peak.. Mase made people want to rap slow and lazy like him..he popularized it people have to recognize that
@billyripp q-tips a wanna be magoo minus the success and the originality beats timbaland make jaydilla is overrated, to me my favorites are 2pac, nwa, spice 1, e40, cmw, brotha lynch hung, esham, ... that's where i'm comnig from
@dida4g me too man....I remember recording this off some rap-only music channel (not mtv) when I was in college. fuckin loved this. in fact, I remember being so disappointed when I bought the cd and the album version was different... this version owns it
Redman and K-Solo are hanging in the background and can be seen clearly at the very end. The Hit Squad thing was just coming together. K-Solo had already put out an album, but Redman had only done some guest spots and was a year away from his debut album. Das EFX weren't even on the map yet.
There is no Pete Rock remix of this track... the 12" single contains two mixes, 'The Erick & Parrish Remix' and the 'Jeep Mix', both produced by EPMD.
One of my favourite EPMD tracks no doubt!!!
