@NoSupportForWhiteBoy You make no sense at all. I'm not American. When you leech stuff off of hard working people who make this art, you're not a real enjoyer of their art. Support them.
@Deathsiren dude , try to find legal shit in east europe. i dare ya. nobody stresses anymore about piracy , some people are selling pirate copies and are making living from it, while others are leeching it for free. that (leeching) is sharing in my eyes, and i would rather support them than artist. artist are fat on dough anyway, its not like key grip assistant will get more money if i buy a dvd instead of downloading it for free, warner bros will and that already filthy rich gang.
@Deathsiren as for artists they should be satisfied with the fact that consumer has watched ( and eventually appreciated) their art. true artist dont bill their work
@Deathsiren i have pretty good idea what im talking about , and folk like yourself can only wine about piracy. im a fucking majority , and id like to see someone stoping me or TPB. support artist??? support poor and hungry them are in more need of support than rich motherfuckers
@xenos60 Which begs the question, does piracy prevent artists from making money? Considering that the most pirated works also have the highest sales, there's no evidence that piracy does cause lost sales. It's quite possible that those that download never would have purchased that music if the download was not available.
Piracy is inevitable and unpreventable. For every million put into piracy prevention, one Asian kid cracks it in his spare time. Time to adapt the business plan to reality
@xenos60 Simply being aware a change needs to occur is hardly a requirement to rewrite an industry I'm not part of.
But ok: actual musicians worth seeing live will always make money. Incentives, content other than the music itself, can make it worth buying physical or legal digital copies.
Even SOPA won't stop piracy -- it will just create an unregulated alternate addressing system, and piracy might come out even stronger. The key is making a product better than what pirates can provide.
The U.S. has never been very smart when it comes to embracing things like prostitution, marijuana and piracy. I think it is funny watching them dump billions into loosing battles.
Yes sounds right like the good piece from early years cd, i have this laying around on d someone should put that up if not allready done. Rocking good tune.. the one man band..
i once ran behind the ice cream man in his little van holding a red balloon in my hand. The moment i almost reached him i lost my balloon .I remember me watching the balloon flying up in the sky and the ice cream man driving slowly away. Timeless moments, timeless song.
Put this in context.......this is 1973 and everyone else was moving to Laurel Canyon and faking love and peace..........Tom was being Tom...........40 years later Tom is still being Tom.......one day the rest of us will catch up........all power to a living genius.
@darrenpurser1234 Well that's actually not true. Sure Waits always stuck to his own thing, but how you say it, it sounds like Tom always stuck to this kind of music, which isn't true. This bluesy thing sounds like a very early piece. Later Waits changed his way of making music to a very deep and dark way. Just listen to Bone Machine. After The Heart of Saturday Night he started to experiment with different sounds and lyrics.
This is fantastic! A friend of mine got me into Tom Waits with the Raindogs CD years ago. The man can't go wrong and I wish more people would open their ears to music like his and forget about the Bieber GaGa Pop crap stuffing the airwaves today
First time I've heard a young Tom Waits -- you know, before the voice changed. I don't know how to feel about it. I mean, I already thought the man was an incredible performer, but this is almost joyously sad: he was even better then.
@braininahat I understand how people can say they like Toms early stuff more, the only problem with that is that Tom is still alive and still a vibrant and relevant performer/musician/artist. I feel sorry for you that you feel his best days were behind him, I can assure you though that Tom, thank god, doesn't feel this way, Artists have to either keep moving forward or they die.
@Graiskye I don't recall saying "his best days are behind him." That's a rather harsh and uncharitable interpretation of what I said. And, mind you, my words don't need interpretation. I said I preferred his early voice to his later (or current) one. That's not exactly saying his best days are behind him. So, please, spare me your pity. It's unsoliticed and unwelcomed, but then you didn't mean it in a kind way. You're defending Tom Waits to someone that didn't attack him.
I sampled this song after chopping it up in to various loops and pieces, adding heavy drums and a full bass and guitar...it's now part of an underground hip hop song which will be on my new FREE mixtape (cant charge...even if I could i wouldnt.)
Musical is beautiful...Tom Waits is a G, and his band is great as well!!
If you're curious to hear the song, check out my "channel" or "page" or whatver..and follow the link. PEACE AND LOVE HIPPIES
@ZerOneBones I don't mean to be rude, but this is for all people asking for sheet musics and tutorials etc. If you want this stuff really bad, why don't you use your ears? it's a plain sheet music you can use for free for the rest of your life and it can become more and more accurate the more you use it! Alternatively, for those who think some particular piece is too hard, just search the internet for tabs, or even websites dedicated to a specific artist - and there's plenty on Tom Waits!
This is from "The Early Years". Stuff on both albums are from before his first album. That's why his voice doesn't sound affected by smoking and drinking.
