  • @TomWaitsforthebus1 this is a Tom Waits song, you moron...(closing time, 1973)

  • ah the sexual connotations to these lyrics lol

  • i wish I knew witch ice cream got ridda the hiccups. One of my favorite songs

  • ~ in nomine patris, et filii, et spiritus sancti...oh wait...this isn't headhunterz. :-p

  • nice picture of him :P i like this song :)) very very much :P

  • it's weird for me listening to his early stuff. I've gotten so used to hearing his grumble.

  • jebo te,kakva stvar .

  • @nkica aha

  • IF your a fan of this track, check out my remix featuring 2pac, i replayed this sample..obviously not as well..but worth checking out. youtube.com/watch?v=YRTXiKJT64Q&feature=share

  • classified sample! o.O

  • rest in peace..

  • i first listen this song by Frank Zappa

  • Classy.

  • the ice cream man's always good to me!!

  • Tom Waits has spoiled my nights

  • ya remember him in f.f.coppola s dracula film? first time i saw him... impressive

  • @NoSupportForWhiteBoy could you link me that movie please!!! :) thanks

  • @aragon89 dude you can download the film on the pirate bay. it simple as that.

  • @NoSupportForWhiteBoy Or buy it.

  • @Deathsiren who buys stuff these days when games , music, movies and stuff can be found for free?

    only americans i guess...

  • @NoSupportForWhiteBoy You make no sense at all. I'm not American. When you leech stuff off of hard working people who make this art, you're not a real enjoyer of their art. Support them.

  • @Deathsiren dude , try to find legal shit in east europe. i dare ya. nobody stresses anymore about piracy , some people are selling pirate copies and are making living from it, while others are leeching it for free. that (leeching) is sharing in my eyes, and i would rather support them than artist. artist are fat on dough anyway, its not like key grip assistant will get more money if i buy a dvd instead of downloading it for free, warner bros will and that already filthy rich gang.

  • @Deathsiren as for artists they should be satisfied with the fact that consumer has watched ( and eventually appreciated) their art. true artist dont bill their work

  • @Deathsiren i have pretty good idea what im talking about , and folk like yourself can only wine about piracy. im a fucking majority , and id like to see someone stoping me or TPB. support artist??? support poor and hungry them are in more need of support than rich motherfuckers

  • @NoSupportForWhiteBoy What are you calling Waits?

  • @NoSupportForWhiteBoy Artists need to make money to keep making art that's jhow life works.

  • @xenos60 True.

  • @xenos60 Which begs the question, does piracy prevent artists from making money? Considering that the most pirated works also have the highest sales, there's no evidence that piracy does cause lost sales. It's quite possible that those that download never would have purchased that music if the download was not available.

Piracy is inevitable and unpreventable. For every million put into piracy prevention, one Asian kid cracks it in his spare time. Time to adapt the business plan to reality

  • @sauce1101 So what's your business plan?

  • @xenos60 Simply being aware a change needs to occur is hardly a requirement to rewrite an industry I'm not part of.

But ok: actual musicians worth seeing live will always make money. Incentives, content other than the music itself, can make it worth buying physical or legal digital copies.

Even SOPA won't stop piracy -- it will just create an unregulated alternate addressing system, and piracy might come out even stronger. The key is making a product better than what pirates can provide.

  • @sauce1101

The U.S. has never been very smart when it comes to embracing things like prostitution, marijuana and piracy. I think it is funny watching them dump billions into loosing battles.

  • @NoSupportForWhiteBoy

Sorry but you're wrong. Tom Waits himself has made millions suing people for stealing his art.

  • @peeeesh then im awating for a law suite

  • @peeeesh He's sued corporations, not people. Get it right.

  • @sauce1101

    Oh pish posh.

  • :))))))))) j ................. b

  • I have a whole new appreciation for this song when I found out one of his early jobs was driving an ice cream truck!

  • i am really killing for the sheets of this song! if anyone can help me please pm me:-)

  • @Greektome1 Drama queen.

  • @Greektome1 YOU FRIEND ARE A TOSSER, (TROLL)

  • I want it's Piano sheets. anyone knows where can I find it? :S

  • watch?v=Ma_NCJveGVY

  • headhunterz

  • Put this in context.......this is 1973 and everyone else was moving to Laurel Canyon and faking love and peace..........Tom was being Tom...........40 years later Tom is still being Tom.......one day the rest of us will catch up........all power to a living genius.

  • @darrenpurser1234 Well that's actually not true. Sure Waits always stuck to his own thing, but how you say it, it sounds like Tom always stuck to this kind of music, which isn't true. This bluesy thing sounds like a very early piece. Later Waits changed his way of making music to a very deep and dark way. Just listen to Bone Machine. After The Heart of Saturday Night he started to experiment with different sounds and lyrics.

  • he hadn't been smoking as much here

  • This is fantastic! A friend of mine got me into Tom Waits with the Raindogs CD years ago. The man can't go wrong and I wish more people would open their ears to music like his and forget about the Bieber GaGa Pop crap stuffing the airwaves today

  • Chiddy

  • i Scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream hahaha

  • Ich liebe dieses Lied!

  • @TheRanhughes yeah well your to immature to appreciate it im not saying i love it but it doesnt suck so if your just gonna bitch do it somewhere else

  • love this song

  • Headhunterz - The Sacrifice

  • @pilvimies What

  • Tom Waits is the most photogenic person in history!

  • the pic is.. god dammit fuckin awesome!!

    pure feeling in this face

  • before tom went though puberty... again...

  • First time I've heard a young Tom Waits -- you know, before the voice changed. I don't know how to feel about it. I mean, I already thought the man was an incredible performer, but this is almost joyously sad: he was even better then.

  • @braininahat I understand how people can say they like Toms early stuff more, the only problem with that is that Tom is still alive and still a vibrant and relevant performer/musician/artist. I feel sorry for you that you feel his best days were behind him, I can assure you though that Tom, thank god, doesn't feel this way, Artists have to either keep moving forward or they die.

Thanks for always walking on Tom.

  • @Graiskye I don't recall saying "his best days are behind him." That's a rather harsh and uncharitable interpretation of what I said. And, mind you, my words don't need interpretation. I said I preferred his early voice to his later (or current) one. That's not exactly saying his best days are behind him. So, please, spare me your pity. It's unsoliticed and unwelcomed, but then you didn't mean it in a kind way. You're defending Tom Waits to someone that didn't attack him.

  • @Graiskye

I like more the last albums of Tom Waits. There are some old artists that i think they are becoming better every new year.

  • I love this photo :)

  • CLASSIFIED!

  • very good. and extraordinary quality. Please, send this to me if you ever take it down. I will put it right back up.

Thanks for posting! Mad version :)

  • Should be on 33 1/3 rpm

  • It's Clearly not Tom Waits

  • @damonnleary How do you wanna know that?? That was back in '73...his voice changed in time!

  • @LeninsVictory Closing Time was released in '73, and it also sounds nothing like him

  • @damonnleary have you heard his earlier stuff? he didn't always sound like gravel :3

  • @damonnleary oh but it most certainly is... i recommend you to check for bootlegs from 72 to 75

  • BEATIN IT CLASSIFIED SHIT!

  • @doomsdayon2012 YES!!

  • I sampled this song after chopping it up in to various loops and pieces, adding heavy drums and a full bass and guitar...it's now part of an underground hip hop song which will be on my new FREE mixtape (cant charge...even if I could i wouldnt.)

Musical is beautiful...Tom Waits is a G, and his band is great as well!!

If you're curious to hear the song, check out my "channel" or "page" or whatver..and follow the link. PEACE AND LOVE HIPPIES

  • cool version and song

  • Can someone point me to a sheet for this. I want it really bad. Thank you in advance.

  • @ZerOneBones I don't mean to be rude, but this is for all people asking for sheet musics and tutorials etc. If you want this stuff really bad, why don't you use your ears? it's a plain sheet music you can use for free for the rest of your life and it can become more and more accurate the more you use it! Alternatively, for those who think some particular piece is too hard, just search the internet for tabs, or even websites dedicated to a specific artist - and there's plenty on Tom Waits!

  • I would love if anyone could make a toturial of the last solo I think I would send him like 50$ via paypal

  • someone plz make a tutorial of the last solo please I beg

  • listen to classified Beatin it he uss this piano and loops to make yet another amazing canadian rap

  • Cool, haven't heard this song before. There are a crapload of songs titled "Ice Cream Man" for some reason.

  • @thenoisehunterz

I think u mean that headhunters borrowed the beginning for the sacrifice.

Anyway i'm really diggin' this song. I'm reading 'Lowside of the Road' at the moment. I'm up to the point where Waits just released 'Closing Time'.

  • haha,

    cat came back

    hit the road jack

    singapore

    crabsinthebucket

    ice cream man

anyone with more please add, I hope to have 1 hours worth of medley eventually.

  • is there any tutorial on the intro for this? i need it :D

  • u guys should check out classifieds use of this peice

    beatin it - classified

  • @bigabigz420 Soundin like mythotical fairytales, or somethin dark

It's giving me ideas already, the moods, the melod

  • @bigabigz420 lol thats how i found this video

  • @bigabigz420

lol thats the first thing i though of when i heard the piano part .

I blazed up class last year at the big easy in nanaimo

  • @bigabigz420 The purist in me is disgusted.

But that's some pretty smooth rhymes he's laying down. Hadn't heard of Classified before now, will have to check him out some more.

Now, back to Mr Waits. How 'bout some 'Chocolate Jesus'?

  • @bigabigz420 he could have done more with this piano loop.

  • @Untouchable787 I'm pretty sure Waits knows better what to do then you.

  • Where'd you get this from?

  • it was a live radio (KPFK) performnece in Los Angeles back in '73.

  • WOW!! Never heard this!

  • @woyzjek send me the file?

  • WHERE DID YOU GET THIS VERSION PLEASE TELL ME !!!! :D x

  • That's a good picture, huh? *drool

  • Ahhh what a song gotta say i love the piano intro its just amazing....love waits!!!

  • He sounds significantly younger than on the "Closing Time" recordings even though they are just a few years older.

  • This is from "The Early Years". Stuff on both albums are from before his first album. That's why his voice doesn't sound affected by smoking and drinking.

  • By both I mean both volumes of "The Early Years".

  • @zanzalot From what I know though these recordings were recorded just a few years before "Closing Time" was released, and Tom has said himself that he'd smoked and drank from a young age. That's why I find it puzzling. I could be wrong though.

  • Hm... guess he probably stepped up in those years. Who knows?

  • re buena cancion, del carajo

  • then dont listen to it

  • I love him

  • Great then. Great now.

  • hot man, ten waits:)

  • wow, young waits.

  • Classified - Beatn it ;)

  • chiddy bang - ice cream man

  • This piece of music is also used in Headhunterz - The Sacrifice

  • Sooperb ...

  • great version!!!

  • HOLY $#!+!! Who is this man?? Where was his music when I was growing up in the 80's? Lovely!

  • @TATGemini It was there, on renegade FM stations, by word of mouth and at hip record stores. My first Tom Waits experience was Nighthawks at the Diner, in 1976. The album was new then.

  • Great version! Where did you get it?

  • it's a live performance on a L.A. Radio Station.
