And yes, my great grandfather was in both WW1 and WW2. He fought in the same fields in both wars. He was a machine gunner in WW1 and a commander of an M36 slugger. He has 8 kills given to his crew. He left in 1945 after his tank was shot by an 88. He lost his leg, and his driver and gunner were severely injured. His radio man was instantly killed in the second blast from the ammo rack blowing up.
If i take a look at that picture, first of all i see two soldiers. Not two americans. A comrade who is trying to bring his wounded buddy to safety. But to make things even worse they are mostly about to be overrun by a tank from behind.
A true "desperate Moment" - as the song title says.
And just to let me get this straight: I am german. And my beloved grandfather died 30 Years after WW2 from the long-time effects of his woundings...
They are obviously americans. If they were nazis, they would A. Not have a tommy gun, DERP.
B. They would have a different outfit. DERP
C. The comment is now void because of the fact that german paratroopers did not have an eagle as a patch. In fact, america was the first to use that as a patch for a unit. To your grandfather dying, let it be a lesson. Blind fury and vengeance upon a field of battle leads to permanent sufferent and eventual death by it.
@TheAkrael Same as well. My grandpa was in WW2 as a Filipino Guerilla Fighter and one of my great uncles was an American Pilot of the P-51 Mustang and was shot down by the Germans and became a POW.
@TheAkrael My grandfather was a medic in WWII, didn't know what he'd gotten himself into, mostly. He told my dad he once saw an American soldier forcing a german to dg his own grave at gunpoint, and he just kept walking because he was too scared to speak up. That is the saddest thing he ever said. He wished he could go back and stop it.
Definitely looks like Saving Private Ryan XD

He's saying any there not just soldiers but friends and comrades that help each other to the end. At least that's my view on it.
