Supernova 2 is much better, and multitimbral, and has more knobs, not many people got rid of the Supernovas once they had bought them as the user interface was so intuitive, but i see so many of these on the 2nd hand market, because it promised so much,..... and theyre made cheaply in china. i cant see these or the roland gaia, fully working beyond 5 years, without some fault. Build quality is shoddy, much style and glitz, (but also sounding great), but not built to last.
could you please tell me the best way to get the novation ultranova to intergrate with logic.? im trying to use the novation ultranova as my main midi controller aswell as the great synth it is. if i'm using the ultranova keyboard to make a sound in the ES1, the patch that is in the window of the novation ultranova plays over the top. Ive tryed to bounce down in place for the keys ive made in the ultranova aswell and this doesnt work either. If you have any advice I would be greatfull.
@djrichieccook To use as midi controller, connect with usb chord and select in Logics midi preference, (unless it is plug n play) then open a midi channel (software instrument). To use as a synth and record audio straight from the ultranova, you need an audio interface. Then you plug in using a 1/4 inch cable and open an audio track. Hope that helped, now you have to watch my videos!!! ha jk
Do not understand why this synth is monotimbral (and so many others these days!).. The DSP power in the Nova/supernova line is peanuts compared to what is available nowadays for 1/5th the price, yet here we are..
Too bad the UltraNova is a monophonic synth. This means you can only play ONE sound at a time. Pretty useless as it is. The video gives you a totally wrong impression of this boxes capabilities. Check out the tech specs and manual. If you want a real groovebox like virtual analog synth check out alesis micron or akaipro miniak (same engine).
just ordered mine today. you guys rock!!

0:42 to 1:01 has the potential to be a decent house track, just get some snare in there.

@mszostek123 Thats right except of one thiing: the Ultranova itself is an audio interface and can transmit audio over the usb connection.

Y is everyone puttin down monophonic synths they include moogs and IMO are some of the coolest sounding analogs
hiian123 1 year ago
@peter47a the UltraNova is in fact up to 18 note polyphonic. Each patch is single Timbre, but you can of course play more then one note at a time.

asfbi 1 year ago
@asfbi check out novation's website. I quote: "Timbrality • Single Part", this is also called monotimbral.
I made a mistake and confused it with monophone, which it is not. Yep!
