@blazer4185 that's not how it works. They make you secure with a credit/debit card and the card is automatically charged unless you okay a prepaid amount. The service works for the basics however the days of $29.99 for unlimited usage are gone. Those that got the service before the change over are grandfathered in until they cancel the service. Yeah looks like ClearWire is getting greedy which is unfortunate. Hey the service has worked for my needs.

I had the same experience. Initially it was good, and I told all my friends about the service. But for the past few months unlimited 4g service is limited to about 1.4 mbs download. Too slow for videos, too slow for Netflix. When I call their help line, they have me remove the battery, turn it on, turn it off, delete cookies, restart the computer, and it's still 1.4mbs. 6/1 paid. 9/1 measured. Throttled 2/1. I get throttled at 8ish GB, BUT... As of late they have corrected and I get about 30 GB before throttling. Why? Im happy atm. I push a signal through 2000feet, 8" concrete 6"concrete fence, line of 20'+ pine/aspen and an area of 3 story condos with a 5 signal. When it works it kicks ass. When it doesnt (throttling, past 3 months not seen) it royal sucks, ISDN speeds. Id never get this service for movies and lag is too bad for serious gamers.

I've had clear for several months. I get 2mbps down on a good day, but usually I get below that. It's not 4G by any stretch. Buyer beware. After about month or two you'll see the choke hold is put on your speed. Don't waste money on Clear.

I also got scammed as many other people - purchased a service from their web site just to find out I am out of coverage, could not even connect once!

But the best part came after that - I had to call 3 times to cancel the service, they would simply refuse to cancel despite their "30-days warranty"!

@wimaxglobalusa man! is is a scam!! because I always have issues w speed. sometimes I get a wonderful 7 mb download but only during the night! and m talkig about 3 am til 6 am! because during the day sometimes I get a miserable 0.74 mb download. that is if I havent pass the limit of 30 GB at month! other whise I will get a stupod 0.57 mb download! and thats when i really get mad and call costumer service, their reply is that the system does automatically and it have to compensate. bummer!

I too was using the Clear Wimax service for only 3 days until they throttled me down to about 400kbs download and I know I didn't use 10GB of data yet. What a joke. Google and you will find issues with Clear all over the US with throttling. I will cancel the service and continue to use my 3G Verizon card that is getting 1.5Mb downloads.

Thumbs up if you want wimaxglobalusa to stop defending this crappy Clear service. Surely I believe he either owns a Clear retail store or a salesperson.

I got the Clear 4G a couple of weeks ago. Liked it a lot but I had some issues logging on to my Macs. I would lose my connection or it would time out trying to log on. Works perfect now. What I did was change the WPA password to a WEP password and increased the WiFI strength a bit. Has worked perfect on all devices since without 1 issue. Got 9.92 mb/sec but averages around 5. I have a yellow.signal also. EXTREMELY pleased with this. Canceled DSL. Reduced Tmobile plan

While I can understand being upset about limitations, why would you go "cheap" when you need 10gb of data per month? Seems like you get what you paid for. Don't go cheap. It's more your fault than the company's. Sure they rip you off, but you tried to be cheap as well.
