It's pretty clear that the reason why Judge Judy doesn't raise her voice and address the plaintiff harshly towards the end is that she realizes that the woman is mental ill. It's blatantly clear.

The plaintiff annoys me more than any other litigant in any other judge judy case. The voice and the attitude combined just amaze me, I would gladly smack her in the face, preferably with a blunt object

I dont think the negroe lady is mentally ill or even particularly stupid, I just think she probably had a hard life and has very little education. She was in a situation where she was forced to leave her kid to go to far away Alaska to make 2000 dollars a month, which is a lot of money to her, which should tell us a lot. I feel sorry for her.

I think JJ realized she was dealing with a bona fide mental illness - hence, her patience and understanding. There's a difference between being mentally ill and a run of the mill douchebag. Kudos to JJ - she can tell the difference.

@J3ANP3T3R I think it's bc Judge Judy realized that the plaintiff has a mental disability (and I'm not joking). You can see it in JJ's eyes at one point where it clicked, and she changed her usual method of attack & kill. That's experience.
