One lay on a bed of 3 swords (these swords were SHARP, they *easily* sliced a cucumber, the weight of it was enough to slice it), they put a double-sided bed of nails on him (that too was sharp, it impaled pieces of wood easy) another monk laid on top of it and then they put a slab of concrete on him and another monk whacked it with a sledgehammer shattering the concrete!
