Northern Indiana. I was part of a small group who was lucky (and persistent) enough to learn this from a middle-aged couple who would do it every once in a while on the dancefloor when we lived in California. I've never seen anyone else doing it, and most of the others who learned with me (if not all of them) have forgotten it. We teach it, or intend to, once we find some folks who are up to it.
Too cool! I'm from South St. Louis and the era of the Shag and Imperial. I loved finding this rare form of dance expression on line. Makes me want to get out there again. Thank you for sharing.
