  • 2012 (movie by Roland Emmerich) on TV, this song playing, win

  • Welcome 2012, Doomsday year!!! \m/

  • Oh how fitting it was that I made this the first song I listened to this year \m/

  • WELCOME 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Listening to this on New Year's Eve. \m/

  • that double bass is ridiculous

  • watch?v=2u72Z425Yk8

    just epic!

  • agh I've missed this band! Good thing I was browsing through my favourites

  • This whole album is based on a book by David Icke called "Children of the Matrix".The entire cd is about Reptoids also known as Reptilians who have descended upon Earth to controll and manipulate the masses. It is they who arrived here four hundred thousand years ago and gave life to the first homosapians, who eventually evolved into what we know today as the modern human being.

  • @rhytmicparadox

Source please (that the album is based on that book.)

  • @rhytmicparadox Wrong, the new album (the unseen empire) is based on ickes ideas, this song is from the album symetric in design.

  • @EpicMind

"the lyrics sometimes stray into David Icke territory. I wouldn't say that we as a band subscribe to his beliefs, some of us are more interested in that kind of stuff than others in the band." - Per Nilssen

  • @FractalZero Thanks, where did you read that? Is there a full interwiew about the subject?

  • @EpicMind

Search the quote in google (with speech marks), it's the top article.

  • If 2012 does happen, this will be the soundtrack.

  • if the ned of the world come i now what i gonna do...i will liten one more time scar symmetry!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I blasted this song when my brother was asleep and he yelled ''FUCK YEAH!!!!!'' that was nice

  • I can just imagine this song kicking off a gig, with Christian stood at the stage screaming "LET'S GO!!!"

Fucking epic song, Alvestam and Scar Symmetry forever!

  • Comment removed

  • ahhhhhhhh when scar symmetry was in their prime

  • 36 Crazyfists

  • BEST PRE CHORUS EVER!!!!!!!!

  • wanna try the powerfullest Metalcore band? try HEAVEN SHALL BURN,its a german one, their race likes to fight^^

  • @silentbaer Nice comment, horrible joke. ;) Love HSB as well. For more swedish metal, try Soilwork.

  • Who cares about the sub-genre of Rock music. If a band is good and portrays talent and provokes some form of feelings and emotions in you, then they're good. Period. Just like it doesn't matter, the heavinesss nor softness of a band. Scar Symmetry, Killswitch, Matsodon, FFDP, Raunchy are ALL good bands but so are Radiohead, Muse and other non-hardcore bands.

  • I think that vocalist cannot growl.. I don't like his growl voice.. but his clean singing keeps me a fan of the band :)

  • @Junttunaa

He growls quite nicely imo, probably one of my favorite vocalists in metal, if not my favorite altogether. You can also listen to him in Solution 45, and Miseration, though if I recall, he didn't do many clean vocals, if any when with Miseration, though I could be wrong, haven't listened to the songs in well over a year now, I tend to forget songs when I haven't heard in awhile, as I listen to something like 1000+ bands.

  • I like Killswitch more. The riffs sound better. This is a little choatic.

  • epicness

  • these guys and In Flames are the best melodeath bands

  • best melo/death band out there, USA death metal can suck a big Scar Symmetry head...

  • mayan calander ends at 21 december 2012 it doesn't mean that thats the end of the world

  • @xExplodingStarx finally someone who gets it,the calender doesnt say shit about wourld, its the point of zero time, when we shift up in consciousness this will be a leap in or evolution as humans, its not to say the way the world is going there wont be devistation and changes, but the calender isnt the end just a new begining.peace

  • i listen to scar symmetry to leave the physical realm.

  • awesome

  • fuckin epic

  • i think that the mayans said that the world was going to end in 2012 because they knew scar symmetry was going to make a song about that

  • at 2012 cyber metal will rule

  • This song starts to suck at 3:52.

  • @iamthepariah666 Yeah man. Garbage.

  • the drums in this song are just beyond ridiculous. hear that bass roll?

  • @gorangers Listen to for the fallen dreams's drummer, his bass drum pedal technique is just remarkable.

  • wow!, nice lyrics. funny.

  • 2:37 to 2:52

and 3:05 - the End = Total Eargasm.

  • best song from the best album of scar symmetry ever

  • @666Winterdemon666 i like all their albums except for the one they recently brought out

  • this song does remind me of the film 2012 lol but very good song

  • The guitars sound a lot like Soilwork's The Chainheart Machine (which is obviously a good thing).

I'm dealing with the sound, not the riffs, by the way.

  • This is my opinnion... From Sweden comes F*CKING good metal \,,/

  • Headbanger !!

  • only the 2nd time ive heard this song not sure if i like it but without a doubt 0:43 that chunk of the song sounds HELLA sick normal singing and the screaming in the background is fuckin awesome

  • A very good song, i want TABS for this song, especially the solo, i searched in google but couldn't find anything, so if someone has tabs for feel free to PM me!

  • what is the best scar symmetry album

  • @vargasisking In my opinion Symmetric in Design but Pitch Black progress and Holographic universe are equally classic.

  • we will not die at 2012

  • Thats BS what they say its BULLCRAP!

  • @justKenny99 now watch us all die lol

  • @justKenny99 we will be transformed

  • @111iAm111

    Exactly, Evolution!

  • @justKenny99

Of course. The belief that we will is based on a misunderstanding. The mayan calendar is just that, a CALENDAR. The end of it doesn't mark the end of the world any more than the end of the 2010 calendar did.

  • @justKenny99 But if we did, wouldn't it be epic to go out to this song? :D

  • @justKenny99 yeah we so far need to discover 4 of the 5 suns the title mentions lol:D

  • yeah hi, DO NOT compare Scar Symmetry to Bitchswitch enguage

  • @homashijma

    lmao

  • @FractalZero Both KSE and Scar Symmetry are both good, depends if you like melodeath or metal in general

  • @homashijma agreed. Scar Symmetry is leagues ahead of killswitch.

  • @homashijma Killswitch Engage is a good band, along with Scar Symmetry.... it just depends if you like melodeath, or just metal in general

  • @homashijma you just made the best comment ever... and hi btw

  • Howard Jones permanently quit Killswitch Engage.. He is currently working with former Sonic Syndicate singer Roland.... Or so i heard... :(

  • waaaaaaa why did he quit?

  • @MdNtNightmare Don't ask me...

  • tell me who care? comment somthing like that on a KE video lol...

  • @HappyPichus These guys started to talk about KsE And Howard Jones,so i kicked in.. :)

  • Is this a new song or an old one?

  • @Iminatube

5 years old in two days.

  • these guys just confirmed my love of death metal, 3 bands right now. Any suggestions? I may also want some new metalcore bands, about 15. These lyrics are powerful shit, very strong words and easily relatable to anything. In Flames is the best example of this.

  • @Ultraman725

Try "myGrain" and "Kalmah". If you like them i could throw some more at you.

  • @FractalZero Kalmah is the best man!

  • @FractalZero My god man... I just listened to myGrain, I fucking shat myself. Thanks for the suggestion

  • Also check out Soilwork, Raintime and Disarmonia Mundi. If you like In Flames you will definitely like them. As far as metalcore goes, Unearth is definitely one of the best.

  • sorry, been too busy with new cds to check out new bands. But soilwork is more hard rock to me, it's much like newer eighteen visions with more technical guitarwork. Unearth has a bad vocalist that keeps me from liking them, i go all that remains and diecast for metalcore. but yeah, i'll check out those 4, thanks guys

  • @DaveBond531 I see you like melodeath bands with clean vocal choruses.. nice. :)))) and for metalcore, try As I Lay Dying , Killswitch Engage and All That Remains...

  • All That Remains is awesome and Killswitch Engage is my current favorite band.

  • The same,man.. KsE is my fav when it comes to metalcore,no doubt...

  • I love KSE. I'm actually going to see them day after tomorrow, with ATR's singer. As I Lay Dying is pretty good as well.

And as for Mercenary, The Hours that Remain is my favorite, but there's some great stuff off of Everblack too.

@Ultraman - it REALLY depends on which Soilwork CD you listen to.

  • @DaveBond531

11 Dreams is my favorite Mercenary album :)

  • @Ultraman725

Mercenary, listen to their 11 Dreams album, search for 'Firesoul Official Video'.

  • @lilbluependragon

Yes, Mercenary. One of the most under-recognised melodeath bands ever.

  • @FractalZero

I know and it's a shame. They are by far one of my favorite bands.

  • @FractalZero Mercenary's best album(in my opinion) is the hours that remain, because the songs are longer, making the awesomness longer :)

  • @FractalZero Agreed, Mercenary are a great band... and thank you for reminding me to listen to them :)

  • @FractalZero

    Truth there. Mercenary is amazing.

  • @FractalZero yeah but it´s best that not evrybdy knows them because they would become mainstream and we all know the mostly shit on the mainstream

  • @lilbluependragon Hell yeah, remains a favorite melodeath album. Sorry for the late response, happened to visit this and saw the response.

  • @Ultraman725

    Hell yeah indeed! :)

  • @Ultraman725 try As i lay dying and Syconaut

  • @Ultraman725 Children Of Bodom - Hate Me!

  • @Ultraman725 Meshuggah (not death metal, but heavy), Dark Tranquility, At The Gates, Skyfire, Children Of Bodom, and basically anything from Sweden. The Albums " Swansong" and "Heartwork" by Carcass as well.

  • @Ultraman725

Doubt you'll get this message, but never hurts to post for other new DM fans to find new bands. I'll try and keep my list focused on more melodic stuff.

List: Disarmonia Mundi, Nightrage, Neaera, Amon Amarth, Burden of Grief, Closer, Miseration, Opeth, The Fading, Daath, Arch Enemy, D Creation, Hypocrisy, Incarnia, Insanus, The Absence, Noumena, Quo Vadis, Mors Principium Est, Whispered, Susperia, Naildown, Falchion, Zonaria.

That should give a good bit of variety to start.

  • @Incariuz

    Soilwork

  • @Incariuz Disarmonia Mundi are phenomenal, as are Arch Enemy.

  • @Ultraman725 Try Parkway Drive. As I Lay Dying and All That Remains if you're interested in more metalcore.

  • @jneapan88 Yeah man All That Remains and these guys are my favorite bands right now. As I Lay Dying is also awesome.

  • @Ultraman725 These guys are right. Mercenary is incredible and 11 Dreams is their best album. The hours that remain isn't bad either, another merc album.

  • @Ultraman725 Metalcore is for the lulz, seriously. The only band that does it right is Sonic Syndicate.

When listening to Scar Symmetry, I figure bands like Solution .45 (Christian's other band), Miseration (Christian's other, other band), and Mercenary come to my mind.

Seriously, Mercenary is so under-rated it's ridiculous.

    METAL ON \m/

  • Comment removed

  • @Ultraman725 soilwork

  • most unreal solo

  • For the lines on the fractal wave, fits the course of history; they're created to work as one 'til the end!

    - Sick chorus

  • best song of this album in my opinion

  • @DestructionVolt Lol, I read "we're growling into adulthood";)

  • god job

  • This is probably one of my favorite guitar sounds of all time. Gotta love those sevens!

  • inta bi 2012 rah tseer farasheh!!

  • @Adiga69 : lah mish rah tseer walahee

  • one peron sings all

    great voice!

  • Is their anyone else singing in this song?

    A feature maybe?

If anybody knows anything, please tell me, I love the voice

  • Christian Alvestam, just him. (though perhaps in live performances one of the guitarists might add to the backing growl in the chorus)

  • Thanks

  • what the hell doode... just enjoy the muzik no need to get all knowledgible...who gives a fuck man...

  • lols

  • @waydow89

It's OK, I've looked into the 2012 stuff, at least from the Mayan perspective, and it's bullshit

  • Yeah you're right, how in hell they're going to believe that some of their comments are going to make some effects in the people who are reading them. Come on! People just want to talk about their favorite song, about their favorite lyrics from this band, not that crap shit about atheism or religion, who cares, just live your life like you think you should. By the way Scar Symmetry rocks!!! Of course with Christian :P

  • You don't have to read or post comments to appreciate the song.

  • Yeah you're totally right, but you're just arguing with some other guy about a pointless thing, who cares about any of that, if what it matters is what you think, then other people can think any shit they want and if you're sure of your beliefs then you don't even have to pay attention to all the crap they've always said. And with that I'm refering to what the other guys was talking, not you.

  • "welcome to the internet"

  • LOL

  • Well some post comments about the band or things about the music or lyrics not about meaningless crap about religion and some read comments and don't want to see all those stupid arguments about atheism and religions.

  • Dude you're talking about crap, you're supposed to talk about music, about this incredible band or their lyrics, not crap about religion, shit when are you going to learn!

  • Agreed ten times over. If you want to be preachy, do it on a blog on your own time.

You're not exactly going to be taken seriously on /YouTube comments/, not to mention if said comments are attached to a completely unrelated (but incredible) death metal song.

  • Wh actualy cares i know i don't i'm just grateful that i'm a part of this age of awesome technology hell yea happy thanksgiving ladies and gentleman gotta love youtube

  • you gotta love pandora

  • Shut up you morons. 99.9% of scientists are atheists, and you owe your modern life to them. There is nothing wrong with spirituality, but bear in mind that that is not synonymous with believing in a supernatural entity, such as the judeo-christian god, which is idiotic.

"atheist movement" good grief. Atheism is the default nature of human "belief". You aren't born with full-fledged ideas about a 7-day creation and some insanity about resurrection etc.

  • 99% of scientists are atheists.... yes probably 99% of who still study within their academia setting. Those out in the real world, are probably a bit more open about their spirituality.

Atheism the default nature of humans?

Dude, you don't know much about history, do you? Every ancient civilization were not only NOT atheists, they were in fact polytheists. Human beings have ALWAYS used "gods" to explain what they couldn't explain through science.

  • The ancient native American civilizations, from the Mayans, Aztecs, Incas, and the various tribes of North America, the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, all prayed to various Gods for everthing they observed in nature....The biggest one being the Sun God...Jupiter, Zues, Rah, etc. explained how the sun came up every morning.

If Atheism was truely the "default" belief system, then why has it always been a minority position? Besides, 5 people can't be wrong? Can they?

  • Yes they can, everyone can be wrong, even atheists, but at least we believe in something that is more plausible and can actually be proven. People back then had to make up ideas about how the sun came up because they had no clue how it did.

Religion is today as it was back then, a nice big book of fairy tales that makes tons of money.

  • No, you're wrong. Even the most ardent scientists will say that there are gaps in their theories and so-called proofs or facts, and that's where faith comes in to fill those gaps.

My question to all atheists is why do you all have to be jerkfaces by making fun of those who aren't? ie. your fairy tale comment

People of faith don't make fun of science, in fact we embrace it. Science actually confirms our faith. It doesn't contradict it.

  • No, when you are born you are not born with ideas about worship and a supreme entity. These ideas are introduced to you externally, they are not innate.

Faith only fills gaps while science is unable to provide an adequate explanation. The question you should ask yourself is - why bother? In the course of time, there will be sufficient hypotheses, facts, and theories to every question posed.

  • Atheists are Jerk faces? Tell that to the people that go to the Christians that go to the Irvine CA AIDS Walk and throw shit at us because were helping "Faggots"

Yes, we're the Jerk Faces your right, oh wait, religion has killed countless people in the name of something they cant prove, my bad, sry for being so mean.

  • Sorry for being so mean? Nah, you're weren't being mean...just wrong.

How many people has atheism killed simply for not becoming atheist? About 20 million....give or take.

People fight under a banner of religion because they believe IN something. Atheists just kill those who do believe in something.

  • Atheism has never killed anyone, and you cannot back up that claim. I'm on the verge of blocking you. I wouldn't mind if you were putting up a reasonable argument, but you're not. You're clogging up my video with stubborn creationist bollocks.

  • Atheism has never killed anyone??? Are you serious? Have you never heard of the Stalin's Great Purge of 1937-1938? Where Stalin enacted a "cleansing" if you will of all dissidents and enemies of the Soviet Communist Party. And the biggest portion of those dissidents were Orthodox Christians and Jews. Why? Because for Communism to survive everyone has to tow the line. If there's dissent, Communism fails. And Stalin was a huge atheist.

Ever learn or read about History, Mr. Scientist?

  • Stalin was not an atheist, he was a communist, communists are Nihilists. Get YOUR facts right Mr. Republican

  • From Wikipedia:

Nihilism is the philosophical doctrine suggesting the negation of one or more aspects of life [sic] nihilism is presented in the form of existential nihilism which argues that life is without objective meaning, purpose, or intrinsic value. Moral nihilists assert that morality does not inherently exist, and that any established moral values are abstractly contrived. Subsequently there are no moral values with which to uphold a rule or logically prefer one action over another.

  • Please quote Stalin saying "i will commit mass genocide in the name of my lack of belief in a supernatural entity!".

    Hint: you can't.

He didn't kill _because_ of atheism, it is entirely incidental. Stalin also probably believed in 3 square meals a day. Are all people with similar views mass murderers? What horribly flawed logic. Even if that was somehow the case, the number of people he killed pales in comparison to the centuries of brutality and slaughter in the name of "God".

  • @FractalZero spoken true mate...

  • Funny thing is when I read

"How many people has atheism killed simply for not becoming atheist?"

I read how many people were killed simply for being atheist, more than your skewed numbers.

  • 2012, creepy. But crap movie ;P

  • Please don't even talk about that film haha. It ruined everything, absolutely everything.

  • love the drums in this song

  • Comment removed

  • youre right the book of revelation is all related to astrology in 2060 we will enter the age of aquarius and leave the current age. This is because of a universal shift that happens every so many years thats what the doomsday really is

  • awesome song, still was really let down by dark matter dimensions, still my fav album by them is pitch black progress with holographic a close seccond, and would everyone stop this 2012 bullshit even the modern day mayans say that the end of the callander has been massively misunderstood, if they see it as anythying it is a sshift in human conciousness to a more spiritual state, not the end of the fucking world guys, oh and i remember the world supposedly ending in 2000 and 2002 too, go figure

  • Yes. 2000 and 2012 are incomparable though. I've never heard of the 2002 one, what was that about?

  • Lords knows we need a shift more towards a spiritual state. Too many fucking atheists screwing this world up.

And regarding 2012, one theory is of course a pole shift. But one scientist discovered through geological evidence that when pole shifts have occured in the past that it takes over a million years. So even if a pole shift started in 2012, we wouldn't feel the effects of it.

  • amen brother id say im a spiritual person rather than religious but with atheism i just cant stand the fact its all so closed minded, being open minded is something that has awarded so many gifts to me that i feel sorry for people that are so stuck in there ways that life just becomes robotic and kind of pointless, and you're spot on about pole shifts it takes millions of years, oh and gotta love the riff and vocals at 3:33 ^__^

  • Yeah, I find the atheist movement to be the biggest jerk-offs I have ever seen. They're all rude as hell, just to put it mildly. I mean, that whole.."you're so stupid for worshipping that imaginery friend" thing just puts me into a rage.

What gets me is the opposition to Intelligent Design. Intelligent Design is no more that believing that it took some intelligence to create everything in this universe. Your computer for example...it didn't "evolve" from an Intel 80386.

  • yea man tell me about it, oh by the way just read a fascinating article stating that consciousness is an immaterial property at the quantum level and that can be independent of the brain, the "soul" if you like, that the brain is basically a reviewer of consciousness rather than the transmitter like a radio, atheists are gonna love this =D has massive implications for religion but shockingly its hardly been heard about, just goes to show science is heavily tainted by atheism too

  • "it didn't "evolve" from an Intel 80386. "

    Yes, God made my computer

/facepalm - Worst theory to disprove the LAW of evolution ever

  • No...God, himself didn't make your computer, but someone with some intelligence designed and created the new technology that went into it and bullt it. And so like I said, it didn't "evolve".

This is the basic idea behind "intelligent design". For everything in the universe, from the elements on up to all the compounds they form, there is some intelligence behind that. And because Science can't fully explain this idea, Intelligent Design is there to fill in these gaps.

    Go it?

  • The LAW of Evolution??? That's funny...even scientists won't go as far as calling it that.

It's a THEORY, and nothing more.

  • You probably aren't aware of this, but "theory" is the highest status that can be achieved in the scientific community. Theories connect and explain the myriad of observations and facts.

Evolution is the best explanation as to the origin of our species (abiogenesis is a different matter) ever posited and developed. Unless you can provide an alternative explanation that doesn't rely on unfathomably complex magic then i suggest you pipe down.

You should probably stop posting on this video.

  • "Evolution is the best explanation as to the origin of our species"

For all we know...but what if we find out later that we are actually aliens on this planet?

God made us in his image. And so what if God is an alien? Ya know...the voice that spoke down from the clouds at Moses? The whole Chariots of the Gods theory?

  • Feel free to share any evidence you have for any of this. Also it isn't generally considered a sign of robust mental health to hear voices emanating from clouds.

  • It's called aTHEORY, dude. You know..something scientists use all the time and call FACT?

  • Have you even read anything i've written? For a scientific explanation to be called a theory, it must be well-supported by evidence [and facts]. Do you understand?

I'm sure you're just taking the piss now.

  • Yes,I've read your responses, but no matter how much evidence and "fact" there is, there is always a small portion of the question that can't be answered with evidence. That is where the Faith and the Theory of Creation comes in.

Have you read anything I've written?

But like I said, science does not disprove faith, science confirms faith. Science can explain to about 98% why things are they way they are, Faith fills in the remaining 2%.

  • fuck my life, just stop. please.

  • Voices from clouds? You haven't seen many sci--fi movies have you? Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind? ID4?

Think about it...God created us in him image, and angels human-like beings with wings. And Lucifer is thought to be a cast down angel that loosk like we think of as a demon. Sounds pretty extraterrestial to me.

Besides, aren't we just the decendants of the left-over crew of the BSG fleet from the original 12 colonies?

  • damn dude dis shit is so much better than holographic universe

  • read my last message bell end :P

  • maybe the coolest solo ever...?

  • This is AWESOMESAUCE!!!!!!!!1

  • only winding you up mate i couldnt give a flying fuck lol have a nice day :P

  • Metalica for a metal band is not just shouting sh1t about death and anger, they made real music, look at the album AND JUSTICE FOR ALL

    you loser :P
