Seventeen Seconds contained dark lyrics, but the sound was still more punkish. Faith was more depressing but slow and calm, and quite isolating. Pornography was just the pinnacle, dark, aggressive, hypnotic, depressive destructive.
HeY, i fink M stands for his wife because not only dose his wifes name start with M but in the credits to the blood flowers rob says, thanks M for the shell heart, and its a pic like in the book so i think thats what M is haha
@Mstar82- Robert himself says over here that 'M' is about tomorrow. It is a mysterious title but then if you closely observe Tomorrow has got the letter- 'M'. The other letters are deliberately faded. The lyrics are kind of explanatory in a way- "Help yourself but show me the words before you fade away. You reveal all the secrets to remember the end and escape someday. "
@Mstar82 "M" is his girlfriend, "Mary". Robert once said that this album was all about him breaking up with that girl, Mary. Now that girl is his wife. "M" is a brilliant song!
@cmclsrnsee I read about it in some interview with Robert, but I wouldn't find it now, because the website where it was doesn't exist anymore. I was pretty shocked too;)
