I never said get rid of welfare, but there should be a limit on the amount of time you can be on welfare. It takes two people to make a child, so they should both contribute to supporting the child. 9 times out of 10, the primary care giver is the one who pays for most of the child's food, clothing, activities, ect. Regardless of whether the primary care giver makes more than enough to support the child, the other parent still needs to pay. Otherwise the other parent gets to have a child without any responsibility, which is unfair to the parent whom is paying for everything the child needs.

I a female and I don't think child support should be legal. Women rely too much on the government making sure the father, who these women knew was a dead beat to began with, pay child support. I'm not married but I have three kids. we are in a monogamous relationship and I asked her to marry me on bended knee and didn't get a yes. You are confusing paying child support with taking care of kids. As others have mentioned, the money can be and is often spent on things other than the kids. As a father, I provide a home for my children, bedrooms, clothing, food, transportation etc. On top of that I pay their mother, who has refused to work for the past 10 years, to provide those same things.
And the amount I pay is based on what I made in 2006, even though I was unemployed when the amount was set. I haven't earned even half the amount I did in 2006 in any year since. The court, not even a real court of judge here in PA, feels that I "should" be earning what I did in 2006. I could go on and on with many more injustices I have faced with this illegal and unconstitutional system.

Depends on the situation. And if they do pay child support, it should be a percentage of the income. Sometimes courts consider how much the dad can POTENTIALLY make and charge him based on that pay even if the dad doesn't currently have a job up to par.
It's a tough question, although I think it depends upon the circumstances. Personally, I had kids when I was younger and the mother of my EX tried to make her have an abortion.

I think its bullshit cause the child support office always says we are coming after you in the interest of the child but they take away every tool that you need to be a half decent father like credit tax refunds drivers licences your house your car 60% of your little paycheck and they dont wait for you to fall behind in child support payments its automatic protocol once the judge gives them permission it just seperates familys its just a revenge tool for bitter baby mama's.

I a female and I don't think child support should be legal. Women rely too much on the government making sure the father, who these women knew was a dead beat to began with, pay child support. However, then the welfare system would need to be cut off too, because then women would just turn to government assistance...All I getting at is, women would be forced to choose better mates and father for their children, and men would be men; providers,protectors ect. In long run men would still lose...

I'm not married but I have three kids. we are in a monogamous relationship and I asked her to marry me on bended knee and didn't get a yes. I am still with her taking care of my kids where does that put me? when the are older will she leave? we have been together 13 years that's a big chunk of my life but I love my kids couldn't imagine not being apart of thier lives.

My opinion that the woman should be allowed to make to choices of aborting or keeping the baby, BUT leave the man out of this decision. She should pay for the decision not him, since his opinion means nothing on this matter.
He should legally be allowed to drop parental and financial responsibilities the same time she has the option of visiting her local clinic for an abortion.

When the pregnancy becomes obvious to the naked eye, she could say he raped her. Course the law will believe it and never think that the sex that resulted in the pregnancy could have been equally consent.

Just take abortion out of the equation and put in adoption. Imagine if these irresponsible women keep punching out kids and sending them to adoption off the bat? Adoption agencies would be overwhelmed, the only good solution to this is when women become more responsible and stop spreading their knees at every given opportunity.

Does this mean he wont support his son? No.

State support, welfare, allows for irresponsible and lazy people to breed out of proportion.

What do you mean who's responsibility is it? Whoever was involved is responsible. When you lay down with someone you must be prepared for what may happen. So its both the man and women's fault and responsibility for that child. No one should be able to get away with it. That should not even be an option. If someone doesnt take care of their child I believe whatever means necessary should be applied to make sure he pays in some form. If that means the Government has to take it away from you fine.

Abortion will soon no longer be an option if things go on in the way they are. Obama's health plan does not include abortion and people will pay so much for insurance they wont be able to afford "extras". Meanwhile, states are making life difficult for abortion clinics and there are states where there are only one or two left. so abortion is not going to be much of an option. Besides - abortion is not fun or healthy. So - keep your tools under wraps, guys, and girls - protect yourselves!

A woman pays only if she allows herself to get pregnant, and carries to term.
If the woman is making the choice to have the baby without the father, then how can she expect full support for a decision she alone made?
If she doesnt want to shoulder the costs all on her own, she doesnt have to have one.

You are confusing paying child support with taking care of kids. As others have mentioned, the money can be and is often spent on things other than the kids. As a father, I provide a home for my children, bedrooms, clothing, food, transportation etc. On top of that I pay their mother, who has refused to work for the past 10 years, to provide those same things.

And the amount I pay is based on what I made in 2006, even though I was unemployed when the amount was set. I haven't earned even half the amount I did in 2006 in any year since. The court, not even a real court of judge here in PA, feels that I "should" be earning what I did in 2006. I could go on and on with many more injustices I have faced with this illegal and unconstitutional system.

Libertarian: I agree with you on a moral basis. BUT, keep the govt. out of it! This where it get's screwed up. When the govt. forces the issue it gives one parent a $ incentive to get sole custody and route the other parent out of the kids life.
IMO, the woman has FULL control over the choice, so she should be ready to accept FULL control of the responsibility. The dad knows the chances of conception and should step up. If not, he should face public ostracism to the point he helps her.

A man can not have a baby without a woman, and a woman can not have a baby without a man. They are both equally responsible for making that child. Therefore they are equally responsible for rasing and supporting that child.
The man should pay half, and the woman should pay half. It's not that hard.

No, it's the responsibility of the 2 people who create the child. The fact that she has an immoral right to murder her unborn child doesn't mean that the man has no responsibility. I wouldn't say that the responsibility necessarily must be 50/50, but the man should have to pay something. Anytime people have sex, they are knowingly taking a chance of creating a child. Abortion should be illegal, as it is a denial of our most basic right [Right To Life], which imbues all other rights with meaning.

When a man & a woman choose to participate in vaginal intercourse, both are responsible if a pregnancy results. The man needs to understand that if a pregnancy results, the woman will chose if she has the baby, whether he wants it or not. And he will be responsible financially. That's just the way nature is. It's her body. And that's why men need to ALWAYS wear a condom or engage in other forms of sex besides vaginal. BTW, I did not have vaginal sex until I was married- (I'm a woman).

I told her I didn't care, I would raise the child as my own. But she decided to kill the child in her womb. I stopped loving her after that. What a way to destroy a relationship.

Depends on the situation. And if they do pay child support, it should be a percentage of the income. Sometimes courts consider how much the dad can POTENTIALLY make and charge him based on that pay even if the dad doesn't currently have a job up to par.

It's a tough question, although I think it depends upon the circumstances. Personally, I had kids when I was younger and the mother of my EX tried to make her have an abortion.
I wasn't down with it and understood my responsibility and decided to have the process reversed (the abortion). So, even to this day I'm paying child support, even though she cheated on me.
I'd rather my childrens lives be better materialistically, regardless if my EX is a c*nt. lol

The way things are today with child support, whoever has custody of the child gets all the help and support whereas the noncustodial parent gets the bill and the drama. When you lay down with a person your not married to, this is the chance you take.

Child support should be Legal based on the individuals involved and their circumstances ONLY. If the guy asks the woman to have an abortion and she refuses then he should not be liable for child support. If the child is not his, he should not be liable. 50% of the Father's income is outrageous however, If i had to pay that I wouldn't want to work. Sending fathers to jail doesnt help, as they can't work while in jail then can't get a job when they are released because they've been in jail.

I know of a few cases where the female went out seeking to get knocked up by a guy with money. Only because she had the plan to walk away and that person then could & had to set them up for the next 18 years. It's a sad and hard call. Some should be getting it. But then others should be facing fraud or blackmail charges. Yes I feel it should be in the legal system. But we need new laws to base these claims on. Todays system is broken and does far more harm then good IMO.
