damn, tmac, iverson, steve francis, my dream players, i miss them playing in their primes...era where almost every team have a chance to win...not stacking money forming all-star teams and the rest have little or no chance of winning
Wow. This is beautiful, I remember when my dad watched bball at this time and I was like what .. 7? I use to just be like who's bad guy and who's the good guy daddy!?!? Man .. I wish I was an big NBA fan back then .. AI in his prime was like .. the best. VC in his prime is nothing Blake griffin is. Garnett in Minnesota .. omg. Tracy McGrady as one of the best scorers ever .. :S And SHAQ omg .. No one will ever be like him. Early 2000s .. :') Late 2000s and 2010s .. is aiight
nba back then was more entertaining, nd they had a lot of great rivalries too.its nice to look back now thinking, wow, i never thought i'd miss this era of VC, AI, T-Mac, TD21, KG and Starbury, SHAQ and Kobe, Dirk and Nash, J-kidd and K-mart, Franchise and Yao, C-webb and the kings, and the pistons too.it just goes to show that you can never learn to appreciate something until its gone.well, now we have superstar players ganging up in one team,i don't know how things could get any worse than that
I think the mid 90's era was better than early 2000's... Things started to pick back up about 3-4 years ago and now present-day NBA basketball is as good as it ever has been.
awesome vid man, brings back some memories...KB and Shaq dominatin' Iverson puttin 50 on everyone, T-Mac the unstoppable, KG and his emotion, and VC the greatest show on earth!!
Kidd and Martin, Kobe and Shaq, Yao and Francis, Tmac, VC, Iverson, Duncan and Robinson, KG, Nash and Dirk, Baron Davis, Pierce and Walker, Allen, Peja, Bibby, webber, Divac
Man, I grew up watching this stuff, these guys. Then it was about the basketball, about competing with the other stars. Now this game is all about the contracts and LeBron....what a waste of a perfectly good game. Nice job Stern....
There just isn't talent like this anymore. Even though there are some great players, outside of Kobe, no one is really that mind-bogglingly amazing. There was KG, Kobe, T-Mac, VC, Kidd, Franchise, Marbury, Shaq, Duncan, Webber (and pretty much the entire 01-02 Kings), Yao, Ray Allen. And the best part is, almost ALL of them played on DIFFERENT teams. They all wanted to compete AGAINST each other instead of taking the easy way and teaming up.
Beautiful. This was right when the time I started watching basketball too! i missed the Jordon Era but the early 2000's had great games and memories. btw why not include Jordon as a wizard? Very beautiful video.
I dont understand why everyone says the 2000's were a weak era. No it wasnt as good as the 80/90's but it still was better than todays watered down league
Back when nba player like AI, Kobe, Dirk, Steve Nash, etc were playing for the love of the game and they were loyal to their teams too even if some of them still didn't win titles.Nowadays players like Lebron would rather team up with other star players in Big Market teams than stay with the teams they first started their careers at. Dirk didn't need Kobe or Tim Duncan to help him win rings. All he needed was a future hall of fame PG, a defesive center, and good role plyers.
@NBA58760 Good role players? Shawn Marions career averages are HOF worthy while J-Terry and Peja are two of the best players when it comes to pure shooting. And Kobe wasn't loyal...Only thing that kept him in LA is all the money the Lakers franchise has. He was going to leave before Gasol came.
the nba in early 00's had one thing missing today- IDENTITY. you had such a polarity of special players, the league was filled with great big's, every team had its own unique jerseys (today all uniforms are homogenized and look the same to me). the nba is more artificial compared to early 00's imo.
@marcoseffo "im 29 so trust me i've seen it all. Jordan is the greatest but not the flashiest. That title belongs to carter."I You are still young, wait till you hit 32...lol. I remember when we trade Jamison for Carter in Toronto back in 1998. I was not happy about the trade but Carter turned out to be a legend in Toronto and world wide. Time is nobody's business.
Started with Vince, T-mac & AI, finish with them, i just would love to see them play together on the same team, they were the best, i grow up with them, guys that keep their identity for one team. Period. Fantastic job
No doubt a new era started after the 2003 draft class. Guys like Lebron have changed the game since this video. Then it was fundamentals, now it's star power and big threes.
Now ppl talk about D Howard is dominated, cuz they didn't see the Shaq in LA, They talk abt Aldridge is omnipotent, cuz they didn't see Garnett was playing in 5 positions; they talk abt Ibaka got strong arms, cuz they didnt see the 'Steel' Mourning; They don't know there is a T-mac before KD; They talk abt Griffin is an animal, cuz they havent been through 2000, aka, the year of VC; They think of D Rose is an ankle breaker, but they forget that AI crossovered MJ, twice.
Can you make another one of these too with the same clips but extend the length of the vid with the other suggestions. If its too hard dont do it haha im kinda askin alot but these bring back great memories.
@PEPPERMENTschnabs Thanks for the comment. I might do that at another time, but I currently have an entirely new vid planned which I intend to include most of the suggestions: 2004 detroit, sheed jailblazers, j will, j o'neal, etc. Right now, I've just been trying to finish some videos that I started a long time ago. I'm also thinking bout doin a Jeremy Lin mix hha. He just scorched kobe the other night. So, just keep an eye out i guess.
remember when players like Kevin Garnett,Jason Kidd, Allen Iverson took pride in being the best player on their team and werent cowards to go team up with other players?
