To everyone: I am aware you can barely hear what I'm saying, as I noted in the description of the video. The reason is that when I originally recorded this, it was too long. I did not know how to make it shorter, so I played it back on a computer, and just hit record on my little digital camera and recorded what was playing on the computer. So, yeah, the sound sucks. It doesn't matter what I'm saying anyway--just listen to the playing!
Yeah, dude, as an example, just listen to Rock and Roll; it's so midrangey and it sounds like a wah left in the mid (or so) position. I think I've read that in an interview with him as well. Sounds like he does the same thing for the two solos in In My Time of Dying, and I'm sure whereever else.
so does a wah pedal work by plugging directly into your guitar?... then get another lead to plug the wah into the amp?? cus i have a little yamaha amp that only has one input socket. do they work that way?
There is a button underneath the part which you put your foot on when using the wah. (if you look at your wah when it is 'open' you can see it). Push the pedal down so that the wah pedal is closed and push a little further with your foot and you should then touch this button. That's how you turn of a crybabay i'm pretty sure it's the same wiht most wah's tbh.
I have not tried the new JH-1s (which I think are called JH-1B). Mine is from the late 80s/early 90s, and I've screwed with the pententiometer (made it worse, I think).
I have tried the Vox and I don't know, it just misses for me. Seems like it can't really "scream." The Bhudda Budwah is decent; believe it's made by Dunlop. I think BBE just came out with one, and I might try it. Go online and look for Area 51; they sell wiring that you can put in a Dunlop, and it's supposed to be OEM.
can sum1 help me?i got a wah pedal but it doesnt sound very effective. so is their any kinda things i hav to adjust like the guitar/amp settings or the wah electronics?
i had that same problem, look under the pedal itself.there should be a felt pad that presses against the on/off button,it wears out after awhile.my fix? i superglued a penny on the pad,its been working for the last 3 yrs.mine is a very old CryBaby from i'd say '69-'71.hope this helps.
The JH-1 I am using is from the early 90s (I think). Not sure how today's model sounds. I don't love it-it's ok. Compared to others: Vox 847A is nice for certain things, but doesn't seem to scream. Clyde Mccoy Vox reissue(848) is shrill as hell. Budwah is nice, but heard it's Dunlop on the inside.Homebrew has a nice one, sounds like Woh instead of Wah. Dunlop Cry Baby Fasel is pretty good. Have not tried any of the Dunlop artist's series (e.g. Zakk Wylde, etc.)
I am using a 1968 Fender Super Reverb. That's the name of it. Fender has a number of amps with "reverb" in the name (to respond to your earlier post/question), the Twin Reverb, Deluxe Reverb, Super Reverb, Vibroluxe Reverb, and I'm sure some others. I assume this is to distinguish them from earlier amps that simply did not have the reverb effect built in. Thus, there existed prior the Twin, the Deluxe, both of which Fender within the past few years has reissued and which are awesome.

u plug a cable from ur guitar to the wah, then another from the wah to the amp.
zrokr 2 years ago 9
k cheers, luckily enough i already have two leads.
l0u15by1n 2 years ago
if you want to use another effect, it should work between your wah pedal and the amp.
so the wah pedal can react directly to you finger activities
velvetizerrr 2 years ago
u should think about using an extensible MIC..but anyways...nice vid..4/5

not very nice sound. But you play very good the guitar and your pedel and guitar rock! they are simply coolll
volviendoalos80s 2 years ago
do i pull it back all the way when rotatin or just a lil bit back and forth/
XxrobbiexscottxX 2 years ago
the "heeldown"-position makes the "whhhh"
and the "heelup"-position makes the "ahh"
so for a "wah" you have make the whole movement

awaitlightning 2 years ago
Yeah, I think most wah's operate the same way, except a Morley. there's actually a separate switch.
Just to clarify, awaitlightning means press down at the end where your toes go. The activator switch is under there. Press hard, you'll hear it.

cheers for correcting my clumsy expression.

Invader001 2 years ago
you should press down quite hard on the front of the pedal, as if you were pushing it down to the floor. it just takes one click and it's off.
awaitlightning 2 years ago
Thanks Dude I realy needed that I was getting worried.
BTW Fuck you Invader001 Just because I needed a lil help with this Dosent make me retarded.Thinking slow does.

SRVisthebest 3 years ago
reverb is a type of effect. it makes everything 'echo' but not like a delay does.
sorta more spacey than a repetition.
and the reverb he's on about is his amp lol
