hi all i had a question i had bought 4 chickens and i wonder what can i build to make them more happy ? i mean a pool or a bridge or a underground tunnel will they had funn ? i want make for them what is disneyland for humans :) so please tell me any ideas...... <3 <3 <3 <3
@rikino2009 They love to explore things. They also like to roost on things. I added all kinds of tree limbs to their enclosure and they loved it. They also liked having furniture to hide under and to roost on, so if you have any nasty old chairs or anything like that, they will find them fun. Plus you can sit in the chair and feed them cracked corn and they will LOVE it. Mine did! A baby pool would be fun, but they are not really water birds. Although they will drink from it...
ooh i like polish chickens exept the males oy >:( i had a polish crested black male and he wouldnt stop crowing but in march im getting one like it i hope shell be as cute as urrs
I actually let my chicken in the house "here and there" as well, although I have wood floors in my house! They're such awesome chickens to have as pets! There personalities are just amazingly funny! I just love polish chickens, there nothing like your ordinary hen thats for sure!

This video is 2 years old and she is a hen. :-) At the time, I was not completely sure, but after collecting eggs, I am ! That is the only real way to tell sometimes.
She is the only golden laced I have and she is a little over a year old now. In the video she was about 5 weeks or so. I don't remember exactly. She is very sweet.
She was 2-years-old in April 2010. I have 3-4 surviving Polish Crested. One died at 2 days old (no idea why) and Marsha (White Polish) died last summer of some unknown growth that caused her to retain fluid in her abdomen... Minnie (the Buff-Laced,) Goldie (Golden-Laced, this video,) Matilda (the Silver-Laced,) and one cross rooster from the hatch in the homemade incubator. He is a cross of Polish Crested and Silkie. He is gorgeous but has ROOSTER attitude. Named Buckwheat. :-)

What? You got it inside the house and by the carpet? LOL! What if it would have pooped? =P

@TheGenuineChristian I had a towel, actually. You just can't see it. And I am having the carpet replaced (but not because of the chicken!)

Uhh, I'm afraid she looks like a rooster, judging by her crest,

Her feathers look like hair on her head. :D
What's her behaviour like? I liked this type of breed out of all of them, so I'm looking to get one soon. I want to know more about them though..
