Yeah, she seems to be playing very inspired in this particular concert. That's the way it is.I've seen a lot of concerts, sometimes they play especially good. But I've seen lousy concerts too
When I listen to her playing this piece on her Naxos CD I find my mind wandering. I suspect that in this video she attacks the piece a bit more and consequentially there's more variation between the dreamy sections and the more aggressive ones. I guess it's the difference between playing live and playing in a studio. It's hard to judge as the gulf between hi fi sound and Youtube sound is enormous.
@douglas12386 In fact you are right, performing live is far far different from doing recordings. You are much more careful and conservative, while in live performances you would want to express in a much more boldly fashion.
It's difficult to grab the audience's attention with this piece, since the theme and first variation are slow, but you have done it with your exceptionally dynamic playing.
The Scriabin Variations by Tansman, a great composition for solo guitar, played by the fantastic Irina Kulikova, one of the outstanding ambassadrices for the guitar!
What microphones were those,if you know please.I can't believe the rich tone they pick up.This piece is rarely peformed>Thanx!

Sublime music making, and what a wonderful piece. The guitar's not bad either.
