not the best stage arrangement, Pete can't windmill and sing at the same time without hitting John, and John can't get too close to his mike without getting in Pete's way.
not the best stage arrangement, Pete can't windmill and sing at the same time without hitting John, and John can't get too close to his mike without getting in Pete's way, and Keith's kit is situated in front and below the others so its harh to get a good picture of him! love the who though.
This really shows how Roger has changed so much in his singing and his apperance in just 2 years between 1967 - December 1969. I would have perfered this song with with live vocals from Roger because his voice changed during the Tommy tours.
wow, very cool and psicodelic video, they changed the name of the song, but it does not matter, I had not seen this video of The Who, thanks for posting it!
@gribbstone234: Are you saying you think this was a *live* performance for TOTP? The audience is certainly 'live' but the band definitely isn't playing live; that's the original studio recording and they're just miming. Well, Moon was obviously making a bunch of noise but we don't hear it because his kit wasn't miked and if you look, there are no amps and no cables in the guitars.
Of course it wasn't recorded in the U.S.; TOTP was a UK programme. What's your point?
@YouzTube99 you know, it just really bums me out when the phrase lip sync gets spoken. why not let me live in my own happy little world. why would you care your channel is way off this plane.
you lucky bastards im 16 and i wish i could live through those years. instead of this dump. the only good thing to come off this is decade was................ oh wait nevermind @Bluevelvetglove

@fun2ryhme You are so right,. Today's music is crap. That is why Roger Daltrey slammed Simon Cowell the other day for the down spiral in today's music (because of stupid music shows like X Factor and AMerican Idol). Gone are the great days of rock bands.
@fabsternyc sorry but micheal jackson was performing in 60s and 70s so you were. and that girl in the crowd with the dark brown hair mid song is bueatifull
How many bands do you see push the drummer to the front? as in this video, only The Who as Keith Monn was & is still the greatest ever drummer bar none!!!
There was a mistake done by ARTE TV during the broadcast: the song is not "Join Together", but "I Can See For Miles", and the performance is not really from Top Of The Pops, but from a BBC/ZDF TV Special named "Rock Go To The Sixities", dated 31Dec69.
The only reason why this works is because of the fact that this song (in 1967) was way ahead of its time.

THIS *should* have been the standard stage set up for the Who; Moon front and center!
Roger was an excellent lip-syncher!

Fantastic mind twisting song and words. Like a crashing surf in your head.
And it kicked the wrong way for Pete Godsend.
Number nine in the charts. It seemed to make him a bit pissed off. No wonder.
And Pete, take heart. This is far above such silly things.
Stupid numbers.

Kieth Moon is great, to answer ur question the band Tool has thier drummer Danny Carey front and center every show & he deserves it...

Here's a bit of trivia..
I bought this brilliant single in August 1967 ..
it was on the Track label and this is definitely that recording played over the group's live appearance here from around 1969.

You´re right my friend, thanks a lot! I´ll change the topic.
But this is from a French TV Show called
"Top Of The Pops 70s" with Philippe Manouvre.
And the songs are mostly from the seventies when they reached the highest position before in the Top Ten.
At another place Philippe sad: Who wasn´t not in the Top Ten that one can´t be in Top Of The Pops.
