speaking straight truth right there.i believe warren buffet still lives in house he got a long time ago.living simple is the way to go.i think people just get caught up on the illusion they see on tv and spend recklessly,or they there trying to keep up with the jones.its just silly.
Warren Buffet, according to my dad who read his book, never told his wife he had millions in the bank early on for years. She discovered some bank/stock statements one day while living in their modest apartment.
Although I cleared my credit cards / collection debts; I always be getting to close to being zero bank balance... so I got to change my spending habits , wait for the things I want etc. TO ALL VIEWERS OF THIS VIDEO>>>Any website suggestions as to how I can further educate myself as to how save money and stop living paycheck to paycheck.
@albc1964 Go to daveramsey(D0tcom). He has a great plan that I followed that got me to the point where i have loads sitting in the bank waiting for emergencies. His plan can be done on any salary. Look him up and you should be good within a year of following his format.
Nothing wrong with going out to eat once in a while. There's also nothing wrong with splurging on yourself once in a while either. The key is..planning for it. My 30th birthday is next week and I splurged on myself. BTW, remember that savings challenge you issued to us last yr? I managed to save $10,000 in my savings account ..I kept/keep a steady balance of around $3,000 in my regular bank accnt and generated over $9,500 in retirement savings(401B accnt.). I thank God, I am blessed.
Im done with personal austerity measures. I been on austerity my entire life and now Ive saved enough that I can reap the rewards. Now im going on a mad spending spree. Screw the bad economy things are looking good on my end for a chance.
@skyding8962 - get a hooker with that money already. Spending is bad and all, but I'm tired of hearing your failed female scenarios. Make sure you get an asian woman. All the others stink. :)
You know I'm kidding but I hope you find a woman. Just don't tell her how much you have saved!
Im going to be spending a lot of the money soon. The point is though there is no excuse for someone that makes the mone you do to not have a huge amount of net wealth.
And yeah Ill never tell a woman how much I have in a bank. Not like it matters I have no plans of settling down.
If you have alot of money, I'd think abt investing it somehow to make it grow. We as Americans are obessed with "now" and don't plan for the future. We don't know what our health situation will be like years down the line or if a business will take a turn for the worst. Financially, it's always best to think about the WORST case scenario(s) and plan it it. Spending is fine but wreckless spending aka buying a bunch of stuff you don't need is not the best track to financial freedom.
No all the stuff I plan on buying is legitmate. I wouldn't spend it on stupid crap. For example a brand new vehicle in cash. Then have about 2 years worth of rent/utilities in savings stored away plus money on top of that to be able to buy another vehicle AGAIN in cash in the future (so I wont have to be in debt in the future). So Ill always have a cash safety net as a cushion should my income go drastically down.
wow dude, good job. I plan on buying my new vehicle in cash as well when it's time for me to get another car. I hate car payments. Sounds like ur in good shape man.
Only casue I live at home so my expenses are very low. When I do move out I plan to have at least 2 years worth of extra money for rent/utitlities so even if I were to stop making money completely I could survive at least a year and half on my own and even have extra money set aside for another vehicle on top of that. Almost impossible for me to stop making money completely though, but Id like to have extra money set aside for worst case scenario or some unforseen emergency.
It looks like Nepal has rubbed off on you Abdul. "You are what you think ..." The Buddha said these same words hundreds of years ago! ... He was the son of a Nepalese King ...
I will add this though. I am willing to bet %20 of my sales on my ebay store are from people who have to wait til the end of the week to pay me. Either the credit card needs to clear or waiting for pay day. At first I felt bad taking their money. But I have gotten over that. But we need those people to make money.
So ebay store is how you make all that cash I heard you mention in the past? Ebay always seemed like a huge hassle with low margins and that is even assuming you could find a source for your stuff to buy and be able to sale your stuff.
Affiliate online sales is the most passive way ive found, no interaction with customers no shipping it yourself etc. But the potential of money is low. Id imagine though selling on ebay has a low potential too since there is only so much buy and selling a single person can do before they have to hire other people. Do you go to garage sales or anything like that to put stuff up on ebay for a profit? I remembe george4title interviewed a guy recently doing that.
Yes there are a lot of people that think credit is free money buying things they dont need with money they dont have that is what the problem is now we have a economy built on debt if they get the flue out of work for 2 weeks they loose everything
I would say almost everyone I know lives like that. Kinda scary. But man you are getting even more frugal. Can't enjoy going out to eat frugal. It's all good I am just giving you a hard time. I always say, you buy the 100k sports car when you make your first million, not when you make your first 100k. But that doesn't hinder my growth, if anything it pushes me to work harder.
Hypocrisy is thy name Shaun. Listen man, how do you justify preaching a life of austerity and frugality to other's when you yourself are in the business of selling "nicknack, patty-whack" crap to people who really don't need to buy those thing in the first place? Your actions are tantamount to a drug dealer that tells his clients to stay off drugs! Tell me how you are not being totally hypocritical. How does the premise of your speech square with your livelihood? Be honest for once.
@naiharncliff Well we all have to take the path that we think is best. I believe that first and foremost you need to sell a lifestlye. Wearing shitty clothes, driving a shitty car and living in a shitty house doesn't push the lifestlye I want customers to see. If I sell products from my shitty van they won't be perceived as valuable as products I sell from my jaguar. Just a different way of doing things but both bring you to the same destination.
@turboman8082 Your "selling a lifestyle" diatribe does NOT even address my points regarding Shaun's blaring hypocrisy in a single way. Do you even know how to formulate and then articulate a proper written response to my statement and questions? Look Buckwheat, drop the "lifestyle" bullshit used car salesman commentary and present a plausible response to my initial points if you want a reasonable dialog or shut the hell up.
Let me tell you that I used to act that way (paycheck to paycheck) when I didn't have an account. Now, I can dip into my account and buy what I need/what without waiting on my next check. Not to mention that I don't go to my job on my off days just to pick up my paycheck.
@GamingExtreme187 Amke money diversify myself by not just limiting myself to just making the American Market. I am breaking through to make money in other countries also. That's why I went overseas to set these markets up. I don't sweat the things I can't control, so I will be fine. What are you going to do? lol
@GamingExtreme187 you sound like a guy that knows how to solve problems, run away from them. That's not my strategy, I don't run from things, also I don't think it will collapse. The market is supposed to be crashed by now also, and many people lost money by not being in the market now. So I choose not to panic over emotion.
i have a friend whos really bad about that, its not entirely her fault but the few times she did have some extra money she wasnt obligated to spend she just goes and buys random things she wants when she really should be saving it. its sad her family always had those kind of spending habits and they NEVER had money and she wants out but just does the same thing. i wish she would try and save i know she could get ahead and be better off. i actually tried to make her watch your channel once lol
I had $100k in the bank in past years. I quit my job and went back to school for 2 years. Spent it all in a few years. Now I'm a slave again. I have tons of work. But I didn't pay taxes. Now I've got a hefty lil bill. I was certainly wrong. I did get TOP TIER education from the Master's studies I spent on. But I squandered the rest, crashed expensive cars, etc. Still took out loans. In hindsight I would've paid the tuition with the cash I had. Fuck loans.
@judutchinski well one thing about money is once you learn how to make $100,000 you already have the skills to make it again but this time you will be more knowledgeable.
LMAO that is funny. WIth all the money you make per year you should have 500,000 in the bank if not a million. What a joke you are sorry, but I can't help it. Im in poverty and I almost have a 100,000 in the bank and I only started getting a steady income a few years ago. LOL
@skyding8962 - how does poverty = $100k in the bank? lol Hahaha you're everywhere. It's that extra income you make from being a youtube admin guy. ^_^
I think one of the big reasons why people still live this way is that we are constantly bombarded by images of materialism. I think that we as a culture place far too much value on materialistic things, and that's why we get so caught up in buying the newest car, the most expensive clothes/jewelery/iPhone, etc
Also, the suggestion to spend is pervasive. What happens when the economy goes bad? The advice given to us by the "experts" is to go out and spend!

I did some research and found out that millionaires ....tend to live below there means.
That shows a respect and accountability for money
YET,....we have heard of MANY cases were poor people won a million or a few hundred thousand and they were __POOR___ in a short while.
I think you have to have a respect toward your money and instead of throwing it around like a 10 dollar hooker :0)
MUCH LIKE WATER people are starting to conserve it more and attemping to keep it clean and pure.
